LG's Latest 3D Display Tracks Your Eyeballs

We'll give you a moment to get over our thumbnail picture of some dude's eyeballs seemingly popping out of his skull. Like you, we're a little grossed out by it, and for some reason, can't stop staring at it. Thankfully, LG's upcoming DX2000 display with eye-tracking technology doesn't require your eyeballs to bulge out of your eye sockets like that.

LG's 20-inch DX2000 monitor beams 3D images to your brain without the use of goofy 3D glasses, but it's not exactly like all the other glasses-free 3D displays our there. This one comes with a built-in webcam that follows your eyeballs around, so even if you have a tough time sitting still, or aren't situated in a perfect line of sight, it will still deliver optimal 3D images, or at least that's how it works in theory. In practice, we reckon it's only a matter of time before machines turn against us, and this one in particular seems like it has the potential hypnotize humans and turn us against each other. Or maybe we have overactive imaginations.

Either way, the DX2000 is coming, first in Korea for around $1,200, and we imagine to the rest of the world not long after. Unfortunately, LG hasn't announced a U.S. release date or stateside pricing just yet.

This is very interesting what I am wondering is how many sets of eyeballs it can track and still deliver an optimal image. I know both me and my wife sit on different sections of the couch in my family room which are at a different angle to the TV.

"Its a 20 Inch Monitor, lol. probably only one set of eyes balls at a time. Anyhow, a 20 inch 3D monitor for $1200, for that price, LG can Finger-track my Middle finger and beam a 3D **s on it. LMFAO. But seriously I would like to see it in action, I love 3D, in fact going to see Transformer 3 this weekend."

Would be nice to see Livefyre or Disques on here for comments to keep spam down.

It'd be nice but I don't know how that would be able to be implemented (these comments use fhe forums as well, they're not totally separate.)

totally pointless. I'll stick to 2D the way it was meant to be :D. 3D is meant for real life! :P
