KMI SoftStep: A USB-Powered Foot Controller For Your PC

I know a few people I used to play wow with who could of used this. They had hand problems and couldn't bend there fingers much. Although the price seems way to high.

Pretty neat idea and I could see it being useful for sound/video editing professionals who script a lot of the monotonous tasks that they need to perform. As a gamer I don't need something like this as so many keyboards and mice have programmable buttons.

I had my Logitech G25 steering wheel and pedals setup so I could "drift" the web. Gas to scroll down, clutch to scroll up, brake to refresh. Paddle shift up to switch to the next tab, shift down to switch to the previous. Steer left to go back, steer right to go forward.

Fantastic idea and implementation! Absolutely AWFUL price point...from the perspective of this gamer, anyway. When all is said and done, this beauty will be a good piece north of 300 smackers. No thanks...and really, it's too bad. This thing really looks like it would be a kick to use in-game. As others have said, this could go a long way with those not shooting moving pixels in face, and might even look reasonable next to a multi-thousand dollar graphics package. Make a version constructed from cardboard and Elmers' paste, charge me 50 bucks, and I'll get on board.

There is already a foot mouse which lets you control the cursor and click. There are foot pedals that support a few programmable buttons. I've also found that you can buy a cheap $5 mouse and just put it on the floor and click it with your toes.

So while this is not new, it is a bit different. Few people will buy it but those few will pay $300 because they need this.

While the price is "high", if you are in the field aiding people with disablities, you would see that as being "cheap"! Almost any product to aid the disabled is priced for the insurance company to pay the bill, and I would expect an foot controller would run between $1200 to $1500 in that market.

Cool! Now I'm just waiting for the full QWERTY keyboard edition. Btw, I actually know of a guy that had a disease (not sure what it was called though) where he couldn't control his hands very well, so he learned how to type with his toes, and he ran his own bookstore that way. No joke. Pretty awesome.

I lilke everything about except the price. I play a lot games and have bad arthritis in my hands,to the point getting new joints. I could use all the help I can get.

looks pretty cool and quite a few time while working with some video/audio project a lot of the actions can be most fatiguing in redundancy . wonder how much something like this would cost to be kinda like a left hand 'puck' to perform similar actions.Still a boon for those that have a disablity could benefit and that would be worth the price.

lighting software mydmx allows me to call up light settings with assigned keyboard keys. Such as - I assign my all blue lights to the key "B"

Will your foot controller allow me to use its pads to be the same as a keypad keys such as to call up blue with the foot pad?
