lol, so the system booted up then shutoff? :D Bench it!... lol |

Pretty nuts... kamikaze move on that poor piece of silicone. |
|
Nice, I would love to be able to do that for the fun of it. |
|
I was reading this on my A8-3850 System (3.7GHz.) and it ~shut down~ in sympathy for it's toasted brother. |

Damn... Now that's showing how far a processor can do. I feel like those processors who can reach their stable max deserve more respect; again, it's interesting but overclocking including benchmarking is definately the way to go. |

At the very least I would expect it to run Super Pi! |

Ok, I maybe a moron, but how in the world do they get away with all that frost on the motherboard? Why doesn't it short everything out? |
It's a good question, and one that a 'moron' would never think to ask. You're no moron. They use insulating material to keep the wet from contacting the board. Sometimes they blow it and a short happens. But these guys usually have a tray with many CPU's, a stack of many mainboards, many sticks of RAM, many spare parts to keep them going in their quest for the record. Many CPU's don't do as well with overclocking as ~a select few~ do. Part of what they're doing is using different ones hoping to find one that is better than all of the rest. Then they get their record to crow about.

Ah, that makes sense. Sounds like a expensive hobby, but fun too! |
|
They're usually backed by sponsors who fund it all. If he breaks any world records, they get to crow about their hardware being so fantastic to the world, until someone else breaks that record. |
