Dammit, Opera needs to re-take Chrome. I am eagerly anticipating Opera 10's release. |
Its good to see the open source browsers gaining market share. |
Working on peoples PCs I have started randomly seening FF installed. Glad to see it is not that random though |
Firefox FTW! |
Yeah Firefox has been my browser for years now. I have used it ever since initial alpha, although at that time I used IE and Firefox when it would work. However the reliability, interface, speed etc. have grown every year. I really like the open source setup though. Rather than having only Microsoft's development team, working on what they want too implement, I have members of the general worldwide public working on mine. I find that fits much better for me!!! |

When I was still using Windows, I preferred Opera (more compatible than FF), but that was quite a while back. On Linux, I prefer FF for 99.9% of things. I only have Opera installed for compatibility with the local ISD school-website (wife's a teacher), which insists that it won't work with Firefox (the site's defective, basically). I installed IE6 under Wine, but that's basically only for compatibility with a few Windows games that insist it must be installed before they'll work, and occasional testing of web design. |
Like Steam Opera is nice, I am just used to the way FF acts. Opera does things that make me say WTF which I am sure are nice to some people. Like they way it opens links right next to the tab you are in. Nice, but I am used to them being at the end. So I get all confused and lose my tabs. I will have 20 open at some times. |
Steam doesn't require IE6 to be installed under Wine. I have IE6 installed to a completely different prefix than the one I use for Steam. |
It needs the Gecko browser
Unless I have been waisting my time with installing it. idk? |
Yes it does, but Gecko = Firefox layout engine, not IE. I don't think you need to run iexplore first anymore, btw: The last time I installed steam, wine prompted me to download the gecko engine as soon as Steam displayed html. |
Cool. Figured I would be wrong on this one |
