Being that I have not owned a TV in 4 years an Eyefinity setup would be awesome to say the least. I would use it to view ESPN 3 and stream other videos and watch DVD's. I am also a hardcore gamer so it would definitely be put to good use. A set up like this would transform my single room studio apartment into a visual palace.

As far as posting a video I make you this promise now, if I win this giveaway I will indeed take pictures and show the world how the Eyefinity setup completely transformed my studio apartment as well as my visual experience.

Here is to punching my ticket in hopes I might win this sweet setup. Thanks again HotHardware and AMD and ASUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Smile Yes

An ATI Eyefinity setup would drastically increase productivity and gaming on my home PC. I've upgraded everything over the years, but my 15 inch CRT is clearly lacking in the display department. My AMD 4850 is also beginning to show its age. The games I play like world of warcraft and starcraft II would look amazing in an eyefinity setup. The extra display space and power would also help me in my machinima endeavors and photoshoping. As a student, I'll be graduating this year with a degree in Computer Programming, and this would only help me in my future career as well.

The only way Eyefinity could change the life of any gamer is if there were monitors made for eyefinity. Nobody, unless your completely retarded, wants huge spaces between what is suppose to be on one screen.

For ati to think eyefinity was an achievement for the company is just pathetic... Dual monitor video cards was good enough. In a business world, eyefinity would be acceptable for multiple applications open etc.

Unless games are made where theres a full map on a seperate screen, or objectives and load outs were on a sepereate screen, then its just useless and stupid to use.

You may not lose any screen, but your sure as hell gonna have more eye strain, and have to look around more.

In a multiplayer setting this would ruin my life. Someone on a small 21" monitor would have the advantage over me using a setup of 3-4 monitors with spaces in between them.

So in conclusion eyefinity is a stupid attempt at combating nvidias physx and 3d capabilities, and the pathetic attempt should be looked at in further detail, to what your trying to make. This does not advance technology or gaming at all, its just a wast of time, and expertise..

My 5770 failed to play splinter cell conviction without overheating on ONE screen, Why would i need to push it to 3?

If your gonna make a card support 3 monitors, atleast let the hardware be able to handle it.

Heres my picture of your eyefinity at work.

Well currently i am doing course in animation and the first thing that we all students in my batch had problem with was screen. My sir would give us assignments that needed us to copy (digital face painting)as in when we do in live painting. The problem we faced was that though we had 222inch screens we had do minimise/maximise image and photoshop every now and then. This meant time wastage and also the quality was affected.

Then i bought new system with ati 5770 which could pair many displays at a time.As my budget was tight i could buy only 2 18.5 inch vga lcd's.and it really help as i would put photo in one screen and photoshop on other.ATI did a wonderful job here as in animation industry detailing has the highest importance. And then i bought amd 1055t which has 6cores which increased performance not only in 3d apps but in other things too.AMD has done great by keeping am3 socket so we can upgrade from 965be to 6core processor.I love amd as it gives performance at a cheaper price.and how did eyefinity change my life, well it made my work easier for me, as time is money in this industry

Thanks again for wonderful technology.

Awesome! Here's my entry!

Picture Caption: I need more room!

Story:

As a graphic designer, beginner web designer and coder, and even gamer, my monitor is constantly riddled with many open windows, severely impacting my workflow and productivity.

Working on just a single project, depicted in the screenshot above, can totally wreak havoc on my desktop. Normally when I am working on a website I would have the site's html page opened locally in the web browser, the index file open in Notepad2, the css style file open in Notepad2 as well, and more than likely Photoshop open to refer back to my concept or create new images. There is no way this can be done properly on a single monitor, inevitabely causing an insane amount of clutter.

Should I win this giveaway, my productivity would increase ten-fold due to the extra screen real estate provided by the triple 23" Monitor Eyefinity setup. On one monitor Photoshop would find it's home, the webpage on another so I can preview my changes easily, and the CSS and index file organized side by side using Windows 7's new Aero Snap feature.

Thanks for considering my entry!

Have you tried getting a second monitor perhaps?

BoneyardBrew 4 years ago

I have though about it, but there are two reasons why I haven't yet.

One of them would be that I don't have that much money to spend on one, therefore I would be skimping on quality by getting one within my budget.

The other problem is that the monitor I have isn't available at my local store anymore, which is where I would end up buying a new monitor from (too many risks buying one online). Even though the monitor I have now is rather old, the price hasn't gone down much either, which is a disappointment. I can go out and buy a decent 24" monitor for about the same price as the 19" I have now.

OMG I'm just about to get one of the ROG MAtrix 5870's saw them today for the first avail for sale and have to get one, Love Asus and Asus Motherboards, now its time to go top and get me a ASUS video card..

Eyefinity would definitely change my Programming and Online gaming life.. Having 2 monitors is a absolutely necessity for programming and not having to look between pages to copy and paste code or review code you've already written, especially for update and comparisons for QA and changes.

Now for gaming Eyefinity will make sure I never get stabbed in the side again from an enemy I don't see in BFBC2. Battlefield bad company 2 has Field of View settings that can give you that distinct advantage when gaming and is especially important for competitive gamers like myself who are aspiring to become top players in some of the major cyber leagues in the nation. I could become the Next Gaming Pro to beat so that would be a major life changer there.. Go ASUS!!! and a special thanks to Hot Hardware for this awesome oppertunity!! Included is a picture of me gaming at PAX main in seattle last september, enjoy!!

Eye Infinity would change my gaming experience FOREVER. If I had the Eye Infinity, I would create my very own racing simulator for Dirt 2. It would simply be amazing.

JKrieger 4 years ago

This would definitely improve my overall performance. I still use one monitor and have an ATI Radeon 9250 that was made for direct x 8. I would definitely use it for gaming too. I bought a game the other day and couldn't even play it because my graphics card is to old. This would be amazing.

Must have a valid mailing address that does not require courier delivery in person. ---> so I'm assuming condos and apartments are excluded then?

Also, despite how great the prize is, I'm not sure I could put it to full use when I only have a P4 prescott that has a AGP slot lol. Nevertheless, as soon as someone clarifies my inquiry, I'll give it a shot myself.

So do we just post our entry as a post here?

AKwyn 4 years ago

Yeah, I think so. It says so in how to enter the contest on the top of the thread.

AKwyn 4 years ago

I don't know how this will turn out but here is my entry.

*clears throat*

There once was a simple guy who was a jack of all trades, he was a gamer, a video editor and a married man. He played alot of Dirt 2 and often spent his time composing music. But even though enjoyed playing it, he did not have the same enjoyment as before; he wanted something new, something immerse, something breathtaking... Suddenly he heard a knock on the door, he did not expect anybody to be coming this hour so cautiously, he went down, answered the door and saw a man dressed entirely in red. The guy was confused, he did not know if he was a solicitor, a thief or just a regular guy. So he said Hi cautiously and the guy in red said "I hear you're not enjoying everything as you used to" and surprised, he said "Yeah, how did you know" and the guy nonchallantly says "I just gotta feeling, I think there is something in this box that might help you out." said the guy in red as he excitedly handed the box over to him. The simple guy took the box and said "thanks" with a bit of concern. He then took the box into his room and he placed it on the bed.

He looked nervous, he didn't know what would be inside there, it could of been anything but his curiosity overcame his doubts so he slowly opened the box and he found an ASUS Radeon HD 5870 and 2 extra monitors. He didn't know if it would help but he said "Well if it'll help then I'll try it out" with a bit of concern. He hooked up the new graphics card and the 2 extra monitors to the computer and he turned it on and he was amazed. His screen now covered his entire view, he had never seen anything like it before, nor did he think it would be possible. He still had his doubts though so he started Dirt 2, started a new race and he was even more amazed then before. He could see from the left and right now, he could see all of the things that weren't previously possible without the video card, such as the buildings and the trees. He felt so immersed in the game, it was like he was actually there, racing in a rally car; he had rediscovered the enjoyment that he once had, racing cars through a race track in Dirt 2; for the first time, he had a smile on his face and he got totally immersed in the game for once.

The next day, after he went to sleep later then expected; he discovered he had an unheard message on his answering machine so he picked it up. It was from the studio waiting for the cut that the guy promised him. "When are we going to get that cut, we need it by Tuesday". Said the studio's head with a combination of anger and annoyance and the guy said "Don't worry, I'll get right on it" with a bit of grogginess; he hung up the phone and got on the computer and opened Adome Premiere and realizing the extra space he had from the two monitors, he could put his clips on the left and the effects on the right. He then began to found out that the 3 screens made his work more efficient, no longer did he have to drag those windows around or scroll just to get to where he wanted. He had alot of extra space to place what he needed to edit the movie proper. After only a few hours, he was done and he was just as surprised himself. Normally it would take a few days just to edit a movie but he did it faster then he previously did. Excited, he rushed to the nearest phone and he dialed up the movie studio and he was very nervous but he regained his composure before the movie studio picked up. "Hi, who is this" and the guy said with excitement. "Hello, you know who I am. Listen, I finished editing the movie!" and the movie studio said "Really?" and he said "Yeah, that fast. It's all thanks to Eyefinity, it gave me the extra space to do what I do" and the movie boss said "That's great news, we'll give you more movies to edit then" and he felt proud saying that and he said "Thank you sir" and he hung up the phone.

Over time. He would use the two monitor in order to enhance every part of his life. He would go on to direct movies and he would be on the red carpet of a movie premiere. He had finally realized his ambitions because he got organized and because of the guy in read who gave him the video card and the two monitors. A girl is behind the velvet rope holding up to a microphone to the guy and he said "Hello, Sir, what do you attribute to your success." and he says with pride. "Well I attribute that fact to the man in read and the Eyefinity video card, without that, who knows what I wouldn't of done. I was lacking excitement in my life and now I've found it." and after that, he went inside the theater with the rest of the people to see the movie he created.

The end.

(Sorry for the bad ending, I couldn't think of anything good to end the story with. But this does count as a story right? Am I in?)

He knew he shouldn’t, but he couldn’t help himself!

What to do? ASUS had just released their hotter than hot new Eyefinity setup consisting of an ASUS Matrix 5870 graphics card with the incredible ATI graphics processor, and (3) three 23” ASUS LCD monitors.

He had seen it on HotHardware.com and just HAD to have it; so, he started thinking about how to get that awesome visual experience right away. He realized that the only way for him to get it was to not spend money on anything else. So that is what he did. It didn’t matter that he hadn’t paid the rent for two months and, of course, the car payment could wait for a month or two. One really knows just how popular you can be when you don’t pay any of your creditors what they have coming to them, but none of that mattered because he was about to experience the very best, of the very best that PC Gaming has to offer. EYEFINITY!! Yow! He just couldn’t wait to try it out!

Saving money was easy this way, and he ordered it quickly. Once it got to his house, he cleared the formal dining room table and set it up. Who needs all of this space to eat on anyway? He’d think of something to tell the wife when she got back from that business trip.

Then he began to play like he had NEVER played before! Talk about realism and total in-game immersion, too! It was even better than he had imagined it would be! Wow!

He lost track of time,...

_______________________________________________________________________

She waited at the airport for hours, but he didn’t show up to get her or answer the phone either. How could he forget her? Finally, she took a taxi to the house and when she got there she noticed the trash was piled high at the curb, the mail was all over the ground at the front door, and the car was gone. The next door neighbor glared at her and shouted out something about rainstorms NOT being appropriate for showering and slammed her door. She thought she saw a rat milling around at the garbage pile out front.

She went inside and found the bird at the bottom of the cage, still kicking, but hungry and thirsty too. The dog was looking at her with a “Why me!” look on his face. The house was a shambles and it looked as if the dog had tried to survive by eating the leather off the couch. He hadn’t been let out for ages, so there was THAT mess too.

She heard a sound in the distance, like one of her husband’s ‘shooter’ games he liked to play, so she headed in that direction. She found him in the dining room, amid a huge pile of equipment, playing his favorite game. His eyes looked like black holes with red pits. He also had an unhealthy pallor to his skin. Old pizza boxes and chili cans were thrown about the room, licked clean by the dog. Mr. Gamer had obviously been sitting there for a very, very, long time.

He said, “They came and got the car today, I didn’t realize it would happen so soon. Oh, and the water and cable TV was shut off too.”

“Have you heard about the beneficial health effects of showering in the rain, dear?”

“But, I’ll have to remember the towel next time.”

“Honey, can you believe how realistic this game is now?”

I could really use a new monitor lol I've got a blu-ray drive in my rig... but my monitor unfortunately does not support HDCP... so I can't use it :-( Had I known my crap Dell monitor didn't support HDCP to begin with... I would not have spent the extra cash to get a BD drive. Rawr. Perhaps i'll write a story later... I enjoy writing things sometimes...

Eyefiniy would change my life….. It would give me the tools I need to upgrade my wife’s tired old computer to something truly amazing. She would be able to game with me and all my friends playing BFBC2 at something higher than 20 FPS. She would be able to shamelessly dominate with the rest of the team.

Ever since we had our daughter 2 years ago we had to put upgrading on hold. The last set of ipgrades were for me and now it is her turn. She works tirelessly taking care of our family and doesn’t ask for anything back so I figured the lest I could do is write an essay to try and upgrade her computer. If we win I will broil her old 9800GT in my oven and post the video on YouTube to show our loyalty to ASUS and ATI.

How does this change my life you may ask? Well for any one that is married you know that if your wife is happy then the whole family is happy.

50FPS sounds like a good framerate. I don't understand why she would need more unless she wanted to use DX11, but the only benefit from that would be the darker dynamic shadows.

EDIT: Now it's 20FPS, does your computer have a quad-core processor in it?

I don't think they would accept the essay but they would accept a story or a video or a picture of some sort. Also if you do win, make sure to sell the broiled 9800GT on eBay.

I'm currently running a noisy 8800GT with a five year old Dell 22"monitor so an ATI Eyefinity setup with a 5870 and three 23" monitors would be a huge upgrade for me. Gaming with a setup like this would be like night and day from what I use now. Lag and poor frame rates would be a thing of the past and gaming would be fun again.

acarzt 4 years ago

Just a short fun story. I hope you enjoy! Perhaps i'll add a picture to it later :-P

Bullets are whizzing by all around me. The frightening sounds of bullets battering the wall behind me and whittling away at the table that is currently keeping me safe. I don't remember how I got here, but I know i've gotta get out fast. I hear one of the men issue an order to flank me, now is the time to move! I dive from out behind the table, guns blazing, everything seems to be in slow motion... I can practically see the bullet coming right for my head. It just barely missed me. "That was a close one". I took out the guy on the left, and wounded the one I think is in command. "This is intense" I whisper under my breath. This is getting too dangerous... I need to end this and I need to end it now... I quietly crawl to a corner and hide in the darkness. I wait, patiently, for one of them to come looking for me. Here he comes... He's looking right at me.... Does he see me? No, he has no clue i'm here. I've got the shot... i'm gonna take it! *Click* "***!" I'm out of ammo and now he knows where i'm at! He's running right at me! What do I do now?! Suddenly I feel a hand grab my shoulder! I fall back and kick my keyboard up into the air on the way to the floor. "Are you gonna play that game all day or What? And why are you so jumpy?" my girlfriend scolds. "Sorry, babe, this eyefinity stuff is just so realistic! I got carried away."

Inspector 4 years ago

Ok here is my go at it...

In a world known as “Eyefinity” there lived a man in a town far off from civilization. His name was James. James was a professional gamer, web designer, video editor, graphics editor and more. But because of a mishap at his old job he was sent away (He was accused of releasing top security files that would of made the company a fortune, he did no such thing). The company sent him to where is currently lives at as a torture for making the company have such a big lose. They gave him the supplies to live and do his work but he only had the worst of everything. The food was garbage and the technologies that were given to him were ancient. He though the electronics in his house were no longer on earth as it was all destroyed long ago. The worst of all the electronic was his computer. He use to have 6 screens to work on but now he has one that is twice as small as one of his screen back in his old house. He could no longer game, his video rendering took days to complete when it use to take minutes on his old rig. One day he begged to the sky for a pleasing and that he can return to his old life where everything was the best.

“Someone! Anyone! If you hear this, all I want is something simple that I can work on. “

Then suddenly something falls out of the sky right in front of him. He opens the box to find a brand new computer equipped with an ASUS Matrix 5870 graphics card and the top of the live technology. Inside were also 3 screens (It was not as good as his old setup but it was better then what he currently has). He screamed out “THANKS!” and went inside to set it up. He could not believe how nice it was. He rendered his videos in seconds compared to his old rig. He did all his work at once and it did not crash a bit. His works were the best and it was the only thing keeping the company alive. Meanwhile back at the company, they were falling apart and no one could produce something close to James work. Now James has a plan, he started his own publishing company at that house and soon the old company he worked for had fallen, he returned to his own old house where his company took off like a rocket. It blasted to the top. His life was changed because of the accident he did not ever make.

My awesome image to go with it xD lol Awesomeness!

Hm, how can Eyefinity change my life...

Well for starters, I currently have one 22" monitor hooked up to my computer, where I work on my school projects, play games and watch 'guy' movies/TV shows. Since I'm a poor college student, I don't have the luxury of a nice flat screen TV in my apartment....so, I have to share the monitor with my girlfriend. She loves to watch shows like...Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy, etc. and I, as a good boyfriend, I watch these shows with her and will have to pretend I like to watch these shows...but I would rather watch something like Modern Family, Chuck, Entourage, Lost (so sad that its over...), etc. Or play some video games like WOW, bfbc2, sc2, l4d2. Having multiple monitors can easily solve this problem for me.

Finals week just ended for me; I'm still alive! Studying was a b*t*h for me on one monitor. At one point, I was so frustrated because I had 15 word docs open, 2 textbook pdfs, and some online references to compare the quality of my notes and, of course, trying to study. Pissed off and lacking of caffeine and isolated to one monitor just caused me to stop studying. Luckily, one of my friends did have an Eyefinity setup and he was nice enough to let me use it for studying...also a little bit of gaming on the side to relax, man it was awesome. Again....having multiple monitors can easily solve this problem for me.

stubblep00 4 years ago

i have no good reason. i dont need one. i just want.

Marius Malek 4 years ago

I can use the multiple monitor support to edit video in one monitor, preview it in another monitor. Then edit audio in one monitor, have my desktop as another monitor, internet as another monitor, and then music. (don't really need six monitors though XD)

It's what I do now, except all on ONE monitor. D=

Oh yeah, it would be good for gaming as well.

I think that I'm going to make a video, I'll upload it here when it's finished Marco!

I have been very interested in Eyefinity for a while now, but I haven't had the chance (or funds) to take advantage of the technology. I am a network administrator and use multiple monitors at work (4 on my desk) and at home, I am a hardcore PC gamer. I play a lot of Battlefield Bad Company 2 right now and I have seen some incredible screen shots showing the capabilities of Eyefinity! I'm sure my multi-monitor setup at home could take advantage of Eyefinity and make the game even that much more incredible. Another game I have that I have seen great screenshots for is Dirt 2. It looks amazing on just one monitor...I can't imagine how sweet it would be spanned out!!

I'm also interested in trying it in a business setting,, but first and foremost, gaming is my priority :) Thanks for reading and considering me!!!

How would it change my life you ask? Well if I had that sweet gear and Eyefinity I would no longer be married, have a job, custody of my son, and probably wouldn't be able to use it after long after my house was foreclosed, the electric cut off or I starve to death whichever comes first. The reason being, I would never leave this seat. I am addicted to my games enough as it is people. So do my family a favor and don't give it to me. Or make my life spectacular for a couple months atleast and give it to meBig Smile

On a cold, blizzardy day somewhere in Antarctica, a guy gets up in the wee morning to do his usual morning routines. The first thing he checks out is his email on his cramped all-in-one computer screen, which is connected to the internet via satellite.

His first email reads:

Hey Gil, Good news today. You know that crappy All In One computer you have? We're sending you something else. Hopefully it will help you with your work. Also - we're sending with it some extra supplies.

(Gill thinks to himself - i've already been doing this job for the past 3 months here in Antarctica collecting weather data, why do they need to change anything, it's going to screw up my routine!)

It should be arriving by the time you read this via helicopter. Take care, and see you in about a month - Ted

Great! Thinks Gil.

Right after reading the very last word, he heard the sound of whirring blades outside. He could hear the helicopter engine straining in the fast but diminishing winds outside. As Gil went to go check outside, he just caught the helicopter gently dropping off a 10'x10' crate on the ground next to his building using a quick release mechanism.

"Now how am I going to get this stuff inside without getting everything inside covered in snow?" Exclaimed Gil. Who just so happens to talk to himself (quite often, at that) among other things since being left alone for the past 3 months.

After waiting until noon, the blizzard finally died down and the sun was shining fantastically across the frozen land. Gil decided to open up the crate and bring everything in before the excellent weather takes off again.

Upon bringing in all the supplies, the last box really caught Gil's eye. The box said "To Eyefinity, and beyond!" "Eyfinity? What the heck could that be?" Curious, Gil immediately brings the box in and rips it open before anything else, even his newly acquired supplies.

After opening the box, he discovers 3 Brand new LCD's along with a Dragon platform desktop with a fancy new wireless keyboard and mouse combo. After glancing back and forth between his old computer, and the new system, Gil immediately starts to take apart his old system, and starts to set up the new one.

"WOW!" Exclaimed Gil. "This system boots up so fast, and now I can open up multiple applications for weather, email, and umm, something else with this new Eyefinity set up." "It was so easy to set up...I wonder if there are any cache-22's for this kind of thing!"

After another week of toiling with his new system, Gil explained to himself "This makes work so much easier, and it's much less harsh on my eyes than the old system with the tiny LCD I used to have" Now, Gil cannot live without his multi LCD system known as Eyefinity, and upon the last week he was supposed to be stationed at Antarctica, he emails his colleague Ted:

Hey Ted,

Just wanted to let you know, thank you for the new Eyefinity set up. It has been working flawlessly and now I can work AND play at the same time! It was grueling to be here for the past 3 months with a previously crappy system.

Anyways, I would like to stay here for an extra 3 months. Those free games that came with the system have been keeping me occupied! Of course it isn't detracting me from my work though ;)

As always, take care Ted. Gil

Gil ended up staying another extra 3 months and with his new setup, was able to set up theme nights for himself, such as movie nights and game nights.

The themes he did kept him busy and opened his eyes to a whole new different world, one which is not squished by a single LCD.

Well hopefully I amused you guys with my writing! I'm sure with unlimited amounts of time I could write something much better

Once upon a time there were three little pigs called HD2000, HD3000 and HD4000. They lived happily until one day came big bad wolf with the new video game. He entered the house of HD2000 and said: “I want you to play this game with excellent visual experience or I will blow your house down!”. Poor little HD2000 installed game on his computer but he only managed to play the game in very low resolution. Wolf became very angry and blew the house down. HD2000 could save only his monitor and rushed to HD3000’s house. Wolf followed him there and repeated to HD3000: “Play this game with excellent visual experience or I will blow your house down too!”. HD3000 installed the game but resolution wasn’t the natural resolution of his monitor and that made wolf angry and he blew his house down. HD2000 and HD3000 took their monitors and ran to HD4000 house. Wolf again followed and when he entered the house, he started shouting: “Play this game with excellent visual experience or I will blow your house down too and eat you all!” The HD4000 confidently installed the game and ran it in full HD resolution. Wolf looked and said: “You were better than these two, but that is not enough. I will come again in the morning and you better figure it out how to satisfy me!”. And the wolf left. Poor three little pigs didn’t know what to do and they cried. HD4000 look through the window and saw the falling star. He wished for a miracle that will save his brothers and him. Suddenly something flew into the room. It was shinning red star that transformed into beautiful fairy. “I’m the ATI fairy”, she said. “I heard your wish HD4000 and I came to help you. Your problem is that you don’t work like brothers, together. You should join your three monitors and play the game like that.”. “But no graphic card can power up three full HD monitors in the game ATI fairy”, sadly said HD2000. “Well that’s where I come in!”, smiled fairy and summoned something. Three little pigs looked and there it was, ATI RADEON HD5870. “What is that?”, asked the three little pigs. “That is new, state of the art graphic card. It supports multiple monitors, so you can now play every game on three monitors with excellent visual experience, never seen before. It’s called Eyefinity and it will change your lives!”, and than she disappeared. Wolf came in the morning as he said. Three little pigs started the game, playing it on three monitors. Wolf was happy and said: “That is what I’m talking about! This is the excellent visual experience! Good job pigs!”. Than he took all three monitors and the graphic card and went home. Three little pigs were shocked. How will they play the games now? Would you like to donate three monitors and HD5870 so they can live happily ever after? :-)

Eyefinity could change my life in a big way. I help run a Team Fortress 2 clan of 60 plus members with over 1500 community members that have taken the time to join our steam group. I spend hours a day working on the 7 team fortress, 2 Left 4 Dead 2, and 1 DoD server that we run. I also set up and work on mods for weekly community events. I generally have open HLSW for server monitoring, Filezilla for our fast download server, remote desktop to our main box, multiple forums, Team Fortress 2, Ventrilo, and Steam windows. I usually have about 5 steam conversations going with 20 plus right before events while I am trying to configure the match server. Quite a lot of stuff for one monitor. Being able to have all that in my vision at once would make everything so much quicker so I have more time to enjoy the servers and of course improve my game and not slow to a crawl during a storm in Left 4 Dead 2 and keep from getting shanked from the side by spys in Team Fortress 2.

Well here let me just show you a quick look at my rather light 3:30am workspace as I work on one of the servers.

It wasn't the noise that bothered her, as much as the heat of the hit. Without totally comprehending it completely, she glanced down and noticed a bright red splotch on the fabric of her vest that just wasn't there before. She stared, trying to figure out exactly what it was she was looking at when the air exploded around her, along with the side of Sgt. Macguires right side of his face.

"Sniper!" she heard dully, then felt the force of the impact as Lt. Michaels hit her to the ground with the butt of his gun.

She looked up, wanting to thank him for saving her life, but the body that was once Lt. michaels danced like a broken marrionette as bullets riddled his body. Finally, and end of a clip, and the body collapsed unto itself on the ground.

Breathing hard, she cursed her luck, knowing full well that if she wasn't blinded peripherally on both sides, this would have all been different/ She could have helped her squad, she could have stopped the bomb from going off.

If only she had Eyefinity, she would have seen the threats, and been prepared...

Heart-Pounding, fingers twitching sweat coming from the hairline, waiting for the right moment to strike. The finger pushes down just enough to let out a single 7.62mm round; I can see the smoke as it leaves the barrel. I watch it down the sight as it slithers throw his chest and out the back; he drops to his knees and keels over to the side. I look to the right to see if he had back-up on the way. No one was there, but I would keep a close eye out. So what was my job? I was the lone ranger sent in to make sure they don’t get through the choke point. I was the one to make sure our camp didn’t get raided; if I fail, not only I but my friends could die. Stay alert, that’s the only thing I could do at this point. Armed with a standard issue M40, I would have a single shot to take out an approaching soldier if need-be. The man I had just killed attracted attention from an oncoming party, they look up instantly to find no one there. The Marine training was paying off, I was heavily camouflaged. I wouldn’t strike now, because there were too many opponents and not enough time with this bolt-action; one or many would be able to get a shot off at me. I would have to wait ‘till they split up into search parties.

They started to, and this was where the adrenaline kicked in. The rifle starting pulsing at an powerful rate, from my guess it was because my heart was pounding too quickly. It was getting intense, I had a feeling one of them spotted me. He continued to look my way, and finally pointed his rifle. His commanding officer continued on to push his rifle down. Phew! I wish I could hear what he had said, because I wanted to know why he didn’t shoot. But for now it wouldn’t matter I had other things to worry about. They were slowly getting closer and I would now have to start taking shots. There was a lone man off to my left, if I had turned my rifle too far I would surely be spotted. I had to take the chance anyways; I needed to take one out by the time they got any closer. I looked through the sight and lined it to his right lung, I would have taken the heat-shot but in a chance like this it’s way too risky. I would finally call the shot, three more steps from him would mean one deep breath for me. I would start to inhale, and look down to line him up. I squeezed the trigger and let out a gasp of air. He fell, but was squirming. I had to take another shot before he let out a cry to alert the others. I started to panic, lined up very quickly and missed. He let out his cry and the others had become alert.

The man that had pointed at me before, pointed at me a second time. The others used their rifle sights to get a better look. I saw one had looked down to *** his rifle, and I fired. Down like a sack of potatoes, but the others would start to shoot. Now that my position is given, I would have to stand up and start to run. With the current rifle I couldn’t fend them off as quickly as they could get to me. I proceeded to stand, but fell to my knees. The commanding officer had gotten a lucky shot at tree near me which splintered off and hit me in the leg. From the time I thought it went in about 2 inches because it had penetrated my muscle. Being the Marine I was, I pushed through the pain to get up and run. If I thought my blood was pumping before, it was bursting through my veins now. All of this camouflage was heavily weighing me down. I still kept running, I wouldn’t look back, running as fast as my feet could move. I was running for my life. I could hear them shouting behind me and firing off shots. I kept running and running, I only had to run a mile before I would reach camp, but it was too far with this weight and a wounded leg. I didn’t let that stop me, I kept running but then I saw blood splatter on the tree in front of me.

I quickly looked down feeling my chest and panicking, only to realize it was only a game. I looked up to find that there was a three panel window into another world.

Hmm.. If i were a rich man....:-) Back to the story, if i have an Eyefinity system, i mean three or more displays and an ATi HD5870 Eyefinity card, i would save a lot of time. When i work i used to have use a lot of windows on my screen. One (or more) for the internet, one for the office aplications one for the others and so on. With three monitors it would take much less time to do my job. It would be a dream come true when i don't have to swich between applications just to take my eye on the other screen. And because of the saved time, i would have more time to enjoy myself ( of course gaming and entartainment in ultra wide) .

Would change my life, Would love to get rid of these hulking monitors I'm currently using and move to flat screens, Definitely could use the power associated with the 5870s. Would be a dream really ^_^. (typing this up as I'm installing the new 10.5 ATI Drivers)

Multiple monitors allow me to be much more productive with my gaming time.

First of all this thing is some REALLY sweet stuff.

If ASUS woul have given me the 5870, it would change my life!! It would call for better gaming and i can let my cousin do hid video stuff on my pc(his one sucks)! i can even let others in my locality enjoy this mind blowing gaphics. And maybe it can help me supplement my dads income(which is around 200$p.m.)?

ASUS help me rise from levels of mockery to Pride and envy!!

ASUS ROCKS!!

Well it's official. These people are expecting Eyefinity to change their *gaming* life. Here's another story/entry from me. But from a different perspective.

In 2009, deep in the city of Iraq, there was a war going on between the United States and the terrorist group Al-Qaeda. There was a woman named Syleene Johnson who was a communications officer for the US army, she handled communications for any soldiers in the air or on the ground, re appropriating them when necessary. One day, her superior officer Mrs. Jenny arrived suddenly and Mrs. Johnson was surprised because she did not expect her to be here today. "Mrs. Jenny, what are you doing here." said Johnson with suspense and Mrs. Jenny then said "A squad of soldiers has been trapped and is now surrounded by a bunch of terrorists, we need you to fly a drone and figure out where the terrorists are hiding." said Jenny and Johnson was shaking, he had not flown a drone before, nor could she find confidence in herself. Jenny, seeing the fear inside Johnson, said "Don't worry, it'll be easy to fly. All you gotta do is find the terrorists and identify them for us, do you understand?" and Johnson, still shaking, said "Yes" and Jenny gave her some rare words of encouragement. "I know what your feeling, I used to have it when I first started my job and you know how I dealt with it? I dealt with it by being strong and most of all, I dealt with it by being direct." She then paused for a second and she continued on saying "You gotta face with any fears you might have, and you gotta face with them directly. In other words, just do it." and Johnson felt more motivated then she ever did in her lifetime, and she gave a rare sense of gratitude to her superior by saying "Thank you; Mrs. Jenny. I'm going to get on the computer and I am going to find those terrorists." and Jenny, with a sense of accomplishment on her face, left the room to allow Johnson to do her own thing.

She opened a viewer program and she hooked up the nearest Joystick to her computer to control the drone. Her sense of fear then came back for a moment but her fears were extinguished as she controlled the drone with relative ease with a smile on her face. She then forced the drone into the city and controlled the 360 degree onboard camera on the Drone to find the terrorists. On the ground, a terrorist with a sniper rifle saw the Drone and thinking that it was a small enough threat to be controlled, put his eye near the scope, aimed at the drone; the terrorist cleared his mind of any bad thoughts that might throw off his aim and he shot the drone; the bullet hit the drone but it didn't bring it down, it just hit the part of the camera that allowed it to move. Back at the base, Johnson tried to move the camera but discovered that she could not; thinking quick on her feat, she guesses that a bullet has disabled the motors and therefore, inhibited the ability to move the camera. Sensing that somebody on the ground might know about the drone, she flies the drone as fast as she can out of the city and lands it at a nearby airfield. Johnson then picks up her walkie talkie, turns it on and radios for her superior Mrs. Jenny. "Mrs. Jenny; Mrs. Jenny, come in; do you read?"; there was dead air for a while, until Johnson heard a voice coming from her walkie talkie. "Johnson, what's going on, what happened to the drone?" and with some fear, she said "Nothing major, but the camera's motors have been hit." and Jenny, annoyed by what she is hearing, tells her "What can I do about it?" and Johnson then says "I don't know, maybe you can replace the camera's motors?" and Jenny then says "We don't even have any spare parts, we just go by what we've got. We're basically even lucky just to get some equipment around here." and Johnson, now concerned about the fact that she can't identify the terrorists on the ground, then says "How am I going to find the terrorists now." and Jenny then says "Hold on, I got a package that will help you do what you're trying to do." and Johnson, proud as ever, then says "Oh Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!" with excessive joy.

Minutes have passed, she was waiting at the door inside her trailer waiting for Jenny with that package that she was talking about. Johnson then heard a knock on the door, Johnson then opened it up and she discovered that it was Jenny. "Oh Jenny, do you have that package?" said Johnson with anxiousness and Jenny said "I've got the package right here." and it was a big brown cardboard box. Johnson then takes the box nonchalantly and says "Thank You Jenny!" and then she closes the door. She anxiously puts the package on the desk and opens it up with a cardboard knife, when she opened the flaps, she was surprised by what she saw; a ASUS Radeon HD 5870 and 3 monitors. Johnson, confused and angry, screams out "What am I going to do with this?" and Johnson, having no other choice, took the dive as she installed the ASUS Radeon HD 5870 and the 3 monitors. When she turned on her computer, she discovered that the desktop was now stretched to three screens, but it did not amaze her as she had been in the Army for 4 years now. She then opened up the viewer program and discovered that she could now see from the left and right; this would make her happy as she was now able to find the terrorists she promised Jenny she would find. Johnson then took out the Joystick and she taxied the drone around the runway; as she prepared herself for takeoff, she checked to see if everything was within parameters; she then eased on the throttle and the Drone started to roll down the runway. The drone was gaining speed, she was not sure when to lift up or whether it would roll off the runway but she remembered the speech that Jenny gave earlier so she took the chance and started to steadily pull up on the Joystick; the Drone had trouble taking off at first but it finally got into the sky and Jenny was filled with a sense of joy and excitement.

He then headed back to the city where thanks to Eyefinity, she was able to look left and right. She was flying down the city when she noticed something strange in the distance, so she began to film what the Drone was seeing and then after a while she put the Drone on autopilot; she opened up the movie that the drone had just filmed and began to watch it and she paused when she saw something. Looking to the left and right, she saw that the terrorists that were surrounding the squad of soldiers. She then began to analyze the footage deeply, analyzing where they were; after a few minutes, she discovered that the terrorists were occupying the buildings on the East, West and South. With this information on hand, she radioed army ommand on her walkie talkie. "Central Command, come in; Central Command come in. This is Syleene Johnson, communications officer; Central Command come in." and after seconds of dead air, someone answered her call. "Hello, this is Central Command, what are you speaking to us about." and Johnson, thinking fast, says "About your squad, I discovered where the terrorists are hiding, sending the images to you now." And she got on her computer and sent the images containing where the terrorists were positioned to Central Command; they received the images and they realized that the squad that was trapped now has the intel to take out the terrorists and escape. Central Command then radioed back Johnson saying "Thank you Johnson, we'll make sure that you get a recommendation." and Johnson, with a tear in her eye, holds up her walkie talkie and says "Thank you, sir.", holding back tears. Jenny, her superior officer then comes into the trailer after hearing about the big news. "I heard that someone helped a squad today, what's going on." and he said "Today, I found out where the terrorists were hiding and I helped the squad out!" and Jenny, feeling proud for what Johnson had done today, says proudly. "Great, so what are you going to do now?" and Johnson, not sure, tells her "I think I'll be behind the UAV alot" and Jenny says "That's great, we need a girl like you to work the drones." and Johnson, seeing the pride in Jenny's eyes, says to Jenny "You know what, I think I'll do it." and Jenny says "Wonderful, I'll forward your request to Central Command and she if they'll consider you." and Johnson then said "Thank you Jenny, no seriously, thank you a lot." and Jenny, after hearing that, left the room. Johnson was unsure if she was going to get the job or not but one things for certain, she did help save a squad from certain death, and it's all thanks to the ASUS Radeon HD 5870 and Eyefinity.

The End.

a story about a boy

every week this boy goes to school 5 days he works a few nights and on weekends. he is bored and depressed every day at school and every time he tries to suppress the anger he feels working for such an incompetent employer. his teachers describe him as unmotivated and that he needs to start working harder and if he tried he could really do great things, but he doesn't listen he doesn't care, his employer often says that sometimes he seems to be concentrating inwardly and that sometimes he seems to to oblivious to whats happening around him, says if he's not careful he might loose his job, unfortunately he needs that job.

this boy needs his job because he needs every dollar he makes. he has to pay for his internet connection and mobile phone bill, every other dollar he saves and spends it towards the only thing that really matters to him. his computer, his sanctuary, the place where he spends every spare moment he has. his games, his online friends, his music, his movies. he loves them all spends all his time all his money all his effort into upgrading organizing and improving his computer. his family think he's a bit strange, they don't understand him, how his computer is his passion his computer is his life and what he does in the real world is all just what he has to put up with in order to be able to spend as much time as possible at his computer.

he has recently run into a string of problems with parts of his computer breaking, not having the money to replace the parts and not having the time to get them repaired under warranty. for the past week he has been between parts and is becoming very frustrated it now appears that when his power supply broke it also burnt out either his motherboard or possibly his graphics card, it will 2 weeks till he can get them fixed, 2 or the worst weeks of his life.

in case you didn't guess this boy is me and an eyefinity setup is my dream come true. having this system would make me so happy and take off some of the stress. I've got my fingers crossed

I'm addicted to gaming, my first memories of playing games are from when I was like 5 or 6 on my late fathers then office Pravetz 8C which is a Bulgarian-made clone of Apple II, very cool for it's time. I remember paying games like Karateka and Moon Patrol which replaced my time 'till his shift was over from staying on the shooting range trying to do my best holding the rifles 'cause I was very tiny at that age. It was big fun and I think I still have some games on 5 1/4 inch Floppy Disk hanging around.

But here's the thing: I'm writing this on a PC I bought like 8 years ago, it has a AMD AthlonXP 2200+ (that's like 1800Mhz with 256KB of L2 cache), an Asus A7N8X mobo with the magnificent (for its time) nForce2 chipset, 1GB of DDR-333 (not DDR3, not even DDR2, just plain old DDR) of RAM. It had an ATI 9600Pro VGA witch gone faulty beyond repair a few years ago, and am now using a AGP NVidia 7300GT gifted to me by a friend who got a better one some months after mine gone bad. And it's all putted through a 17" CRT Dell E773c display which I even can't remember how I got my hands on. So a couple of years ago I started saving for a new PC, 'cause this one can't run a single new game and ever chokes on HD video and other stuff that is easy on newer ones. I was almost buying one when some bad luck struck me (you know losing my job, a bit of family related issues and the f**king world economics crisis on top of all), so those money saved me but I lost my chance to get a new PC. Now I'm in my way of collecting cash again, I'm in love with the new X4 Black Edition Quad Cores, the 880/890 chipsets and with the HD 5000 family, especially the 5850. So that goes like more then $1100 for the PC alone, which is like 3-4 times my whole monthly salary. But I can't put it all in a PC, because like a normal human being I have expenses like food, fees, taxes and so on. So it cost me like and year to accumulate almost $900, I even quitted smoking and started going out less to do that.So here comes the opportunity from one of my favorite hardware sites and my favorite hardware manufacturer to win the VGA of my dreams or even a better one plus an array of displays. So why don't give it a shot, luck can be one my side from time to time, 'cause you know "It's always greener on the other side". It doesn't hurt to dream once in a while, and it's a wonderful and beautiful thing when your dreams come true. And here's a promise: If I win I'll post pictures of the build which I'll do on my own because it's great fun to do that, and also throw a LAN party in my apartment to show the rig to my friends. I'll do that even if I don't win but it will be more fun and really sooner with some help from you guys.

Keep up the good work on one of the best hardware sites and keep supporting your fans with contests and giveaways while writing good reviews and doing maybe the best and accurate benchmarks of modern hardware these days.

Greetings from Bulgaria.

All is quiet nearby. I creep through the abandoned house, with the wind whipping against the eaves, rain pouring in through the broken windows. Distant moans...is that an old house creaking, or...?

Time to go. The evacuation point is two streets over. Pushing through the swinging porch door, the sudden crack of a twig swings my head to the left. A distraction! I whip to the right, too late! The teeth sink into my neck, I fall...

If only I'd had the increased peripheral vision of an Eyefinity setup, this story would've had a happier ending. Don't let this happen to you!

How Eyefinity can change your life?

Less stress! Lower blood pressure, and more overall Zen!

- No more starting a round in Battlefield Bad company 2, only to find out the enemy has loaded in faster and has already came to your main and stolen your one piece of armor on the map, so that you get spawn camped for the entire round.

-No more getting knifed in the side, without knowing the enemy is coming in the door to your right, because you can only see the 65 degree Field of View w/o Eyefinity (as compared to maxing out the Field of view as seen by ATI's Eyefinity tool http://sites.amd.com/us/underground/products/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-experience.aspx

-No more overall tantrums / fits of rage quitting, when you get repeatedly killed by people you haven't even seen come around the corner when you were watching that corner the whole time, those extra 20-40 frames per second could mean the difference between life and death, and who likes to die over and over again, especially from some player named Barney The Purple dinosaur!

What you would do with Eyefinity if you had it right now?

-I'd go Pro, Join a top competing clan such as Dynamic, Complexity, or NET, and I'd endorse ATI, AMD, & Hot Hardware at every event, even coming up with my own Tshirt design to show my appreciation and wear while terrorizing gamers with my awesome setup, not to mention the number of people who stop by my lan seat just to see what real gaming is suppose to look like, I'd be recommnding ATI & AMD every step of the way. I'd purposely go to Nvidia sponsored events and show them up, in all aspects of gaming from framerates & benchmarks to complete gaming experiance.

I'd also have to buy or create a mask to wear that would match the ASUS republic of gaming logo 9and probably some superman tights as well!!

I'd definitely have to change my name from OregonSlacker to God of Gaming!! ;)

I am an Alien from another planet. My mission began here years ago, my job was to monitor technical development on the planet and see when Earth would be at an appropriate technical level for contact. I worked under-cover as a technician. This way I could more closely keep an eye on technological advancement.

I enlisted in the Air Force to see first hand our technical training capabilities and became a certified Avionics technician. I then worked in General Aviation for 20 years as an Avionics technician. This allowed me to explore more of the world and keep in touch with technology.

There was just one minor flaw in all this. After extended time on Earth, my alien body is breaking down due to the pollution and exposure to all of Earths bacteria and germs. I became unable to continue working because of the deterioration of my alien body. In order to continue studying our technology I dove into learning computers and became a computer technician. I now provide technical support, which helps keep me informed on our technological abilities. Unfortunately due to not being able to work and attempting to survive on Disability pay (how do you humans exist on such paltry sums?) I no longer have the financial capability to keep up with the upgrades and technological developments. My system is getting by with an ATI Radeon HD2400, so I desperately need an upgrade in order to keep in stride with developments and continue reporting. For instance, this new “Eyefinity” seems to be a promising development to enhance and even possibly increase efficiency. I am sure my superiors would be quite interested in this promising new development. Sure we have technology far surpassing your imagination but we are very interested in Earths technological development and by evaluating the types of advancements made, we can determine if Earth is headed in the right direction or not.

Unfortunately, I was assigned here as “deep cover” and have no way of communicating directly with my superiors or any other fellow Aliens here on Earth. My only means of contacting home are by dead drop and there is no way for direct communication. Hence, there is no way to inform them of my failing body and need of assistance in order to continue doing my assigned mission.

Therefore, you see it is essential for not only my benefit, but also the benefit of all Earth people, that I have a pressing need to obtain an “Eyefinity” system to evaluate and report on. Even though they do not communicate directly with “deep cover” agents, they have ways of using the information obtained. How do you think we made such tremendous technological progress in a relatively short amount of time? In the span of one lifetime, we have gone from automobiles to space exploration and complete technologies developed from scratch, computers included. Did we really get so much smarter that fast by ourselves or did we have help?

Anyway, that is my story and if deemed the lucky one, you would have, not only my deep gratitude, but also the gratitude of my superiors at home and the knowledge that you are helping in the formation of technology on Earth!

I spend a lot of time with the band i play for, and since we're doing all of our recording at home, the single 15" square lcd that we have is a real pain to work with come mixing time... An Eyefinity setup would alleviate this issue, and blow it out of the water with screen real-estate for the virtual 24 channel mixer, as well as acquiring the proper plugins for pro tools. We've been recording and mixing and editing for 3 months, and i would personally blame about 2 full weeks of work wasted on scrolling back and forth.

Not to mention we're all big gamers :P With a setup like that, We could be potentially Raiding/Fragging and mixing all at once...There would be no better way to finish off the day...

TheGame 4 years ago

How  Eyefinity will change my life?Well the Eyefinity will change the perpective about how you will play in the future. In the next decade where all the games will use DirectX 11 the view and the understanding about the games will be awesome.Only if you thought that you will have 3 24" LCD or LED monitors is great, but the experience to play in high rezolution is unbelievable.I want to win because a want to play in the present with this "toy", not in the future. For now a want to buy a new monitor but if i win i will buy a second ASUS Matrix 5870.

I got an idea for a commercial, but first of all I’m sorry for the bad English, I’m Portuguese. I know that this is kind of different from what’s asked for the competition but is a creative story anyway and the guy could be me.

Imagine a geek (shirt, bowtie, eyeglasses and all that stuff) behind an old computer (286 with a CRT monitor or something like that) playing a 80’s video game and then is distracted by something and its game over, he gets irritated and says to himself “I really need a solution to this”. Years later in the AMD (or ASUS) labs the same guy now older but with the same geek look is behind an eyefinity setup playing the same game as before and nothing seems to distract him not even a hot secretary passing, then his face is shown he has a stupid smile on his face and the guy is seriously wall-eyed (strabismus) (each eye its turn out). The commercial can end with something like “AMD (ASUS) has the best solutions because it has the most dedicated employees” (or staff, workers, people…).

So right now, I’m pretty bored, sick, and tired of following the same and common standard of gaming, which is in a single display. I want something new and fresh, something that would give a distinct and an overall better visual experience, something revolutionary that would blow the mind and feast the eyes with immersive graphics and scenery, something that would give new life to old and already played games and be able to like: “Squeeze some more juice out of them”, and also make them way more enjoyable, something that would stand out and break away from the “ordinary gaming in a single display”, and also shatter the boundaries of being limited to just one display, something that would make me never want to go back to having something displayed on just one screen, and that something is called Eyefinity! Ati Eyefinity would change my entire gaming experience by drastically improving it: more immersion and better view, it would revamp multitasking: boosting productivity, and it would get some tasks finished in less time, without much troubles and irritation, and just simplifying their entire processes, and besides, Eyefinity would give me bragging rights to be able to make a show off of the cool and awesome multi display setup!!! Jeje… Eyefinity is just awesome!

Hey congrats to you guys on your win and who knows it might get even better!  I tell you I,ve been blessed to be able to win an incredible Rig here before and still cant beleive it. All thanks goes out to HH  Marco and Dave also with a little help from my friend Mentaldisorder!!!! I always will be gratefull. I thought about entering this one just because Im still using that clunker old CRT moniter BOO HOO!!! and the chance of adding 3 top of the line moniters would be awesome, and of course the killer video card would definatly be an added bonus. Heck I would be satisfied with one of the moniters but I think  that  I,ve been lucky and other people here deserve a chance. Not saying that those  would not look incredible with my rig  because that would be the icing on the cake.  I probably would never come outside again!!  LOL Anyway good luck to all of you some one is going to have a very serious upgrade soon!!

I think they offer jobs where you can work at home or you could at least find a tech support job which is at least wheelchair accessible and disability friendly.

mjcrab 4 years ago

TaylorKarras

That all sounds good, however I am on full disability and can not work.I have a broken back, that can not be fixed, a hip that was recently replaced and a broken shoulder. The shoulder will be replaced when I can't take the pain anymore and my Doctors agree I am well enough, to go through yet another major surgery. Plus a myriad of other major medical problems, like a totally destroyed Endocrine system and Immune system. Let me be a lesson to everyone out there. A lifetime of steroids (primarily Prednisone) has destroyed my body. Don't let the Doctors pump you full of Steroids for Asthma/ Allergies whatever. Find alternatives, the steroids will just kill you quicker!

Thanks for the thought anyway! That's why I really need the MotherShip to come pick me up and fix my failing body! Barring that, if I am lucky enough to win the "Eyefinity" contest, I would have a glorious setup to entertain myself with.

Thanks again and good luck to you!

Thanks Dave!

When I saw this competition, after all my research before getting the 8800 and seeing the ATI ads for the new cards. The first thing that popped into my head was what would it look like from the inside! So I threw a few of the models I have collected over the years together, along with my demo Avatar, to give us the feeling of being sucked in from the inside!

Taylor?

I am not sure anyone has a better chance over the others. With My V8800 it is rather redundant to have any other card, that is unless I had two of them :) Three monitors coupled with my Wacom would make for a nice display setup. Yet since I am probably going to use my 37" Plasma with my current 22' and Wacom, I will have a pretty nice work setup. I would like to see this go to some of you die-Hard gamers who need an upgrade on the video side. Like I said I am hopeful the next competition will include Dual Xenon 6Core CPUs, MB with 120MB of RAM :) That way this 4K render wouldn't take three hours. Although My B-day is on the 12th.

Good luck to ALL!

PS: If Y'all notice there are little Me's in the planes :) (more noticeable on the full render)

I don't think it's chance. Mainly I write stories/entries a little bit differently from the others (most of the entries focus mainly on gaming), I feel like Eyefinity is not just for gaming, you can do a lot more with 3 monitors then you could with two. You could enter any area of creation (art, music, video editing, etc.) very easily because you can keep tabs of your windows and which programs or documents you want open, plus the fact that you can see more definitely enhances the gaming experience. Personally I think the best entries are mine, acarzrt, Chainzsaw, Inspector, bob_on_the_cob, VbeltDRG, rms, Super Dave and I guess you animatortom for that awesome image of showing what Eyefinity can truly do. Those are the people who I think have a chance of winning in my opinion.

animatortom 4 years ago
Everything in life is chance Taylor :) You take a chance, make a chance, have a chance. Sorry there is no entitlment:P Our parents took that chance when they first decided to talk :O

Of course anyone can benefit from multi-screen setups. We now see Alot of it in the stock market offices and most other public offices, it is all a matter what one does with it.  I now use my Wacom as a second monitor where I either have my dope sheets on it, or use it as the main screen with the 22" as my reference monitor.  Having the ability to set up four screens off of one card is really pretty neat! Not to long ago we had to have multiple cards to even have two monitors! Remember that most of the movies we all love have only been done on 19 or 21" CRTs with one card. Multi setups were only available with setups like the Avid systems. Having this type of power at our fingertips on the home front at affordable prices. Takes me back to that discussion we were having a while back on a different thread. Who needs Hollywood!

Remember we all need to get together and remind Hollywood that they are the ones who need us! I got in on the end of it, when Hollywood still remembered that it was the artists that they must rely upon. Then I watched all that turn around!

I strongly suggest everyone watch these videos! And everyone will be saying IT'S UCS4You :)

I have been running on phenom II lately and the speed it has delivered to my work (photoshop, video editing, animations, etc) is incredible, however, just last week my 8600GT was fried after years of service. With my graphics card dead, I can't really continue my work, with the card I can continue to contribute to the online community with batches of animation and videos on youtube). I typically work with two screens, but with three I think I can finally edit videos, work on animations and goon facebook at the same time without tabing in and out..Gaming would also be fun with three screens. gotta play NFS Shift on a wider screen.

MIRRORS WORK BOTH WAYS
(c) 2010, John M. Morrison

"Perhaps, if we imagine the distinctness with which an object is reflected in a positively perfect mirror, we come as near the reality as by any other means. For, in truth, the Daguerreotyped plate is infinitely (we use the term advisedly) is infinitely  more accurate in its representation than any painting by human hands. If we examine a work of ordinary art, by means of a powerful microscope, all traces of resemblance to nature will disappear--but the closest scrutiny of the photogenic drawing discloses only a more absolute truth, a more perfect identity of aspect with the thing rep resented. The variations of shade, and the gradations of both linear and aerial perspective are those of truth itself in the supremeness of its perfection."
--Edgar Allen Poe, The Daguerreotype

"Sit quite still, Madam, or the plate will become blurred. And remember not to smile."

Mr. Cornelius's injunction was not the first he had given her, but Maria was yet pensive. It helped, perhaps, that the silver plate of which he spoke had not yet been loaded into the camera obscura; the hacking cough of his apprentice in the darkroom indicated that he was still exposing it to the chlorides of iodine and bromine that would form its heliographic surface.

"And the process? It is permanent, you said? It will remain clear and undimmed for, perhaps,--" she paused for a second as if doing sums to herself-- "a hundred and fifty-six years?"

If the scientist had any suspicion that the number was anything more than a nonsensical random utterance, he did not betray it, but sounded perturbed a little, though he tried to hide that from his subject, who after all was paying seven dollars for a quarter-plate. "Of course we sha'n't know that, Widow Wetherill, for another 'hundred fifty-six years,' shall we? but in theory, it is the case, if kept securely, and not exposed to extremes of temperature or moisture, that what we will make for you to-day, if we ever start at it" (this last shouted toward the darkroom) "may certainly last that long. You are after all paying for gilding also, which fixes the crystals in utter stability, and none of the ones I have made has degraded in the slightest." As the first (in 1840) daguerreotypist in America, and still (in 1854) the most prominent, his pride could perhaps be excused.

The handsome woman persisted. "The minutest details are preserved?"

Once more the photographer brought out his demonstration plate, and a microscope which he had taken in trade; once more he showed that the image (of a girl with a book open on her lap) was so well detailed that the words on the open page were quite readable: "Nellie, with her brush and broom / Makes a very tidy room. / Nancy is no careless slut: / All her drawers are nicely shut. / Both these little girls, you see / Are as NEAT as neat can be." (The book was an abcedarian, turned to the fourteenth page.) It was no wonder that subjects questioned so: it was a wonderment indeed that an image could be preserved merely by photic and chemical means, instead of an artist's brush, and the image recorded more minutely than any limner could attempt. The rush of technology in the photographic sciences, and in other philosophical arts, often left people astounded and stupid, even those who were the most advanced of scientists of the previous years. Her next question, though, was more unusual, and took him a little aback.

"How many picked cells would you say--" but then the apprentice, still wheezing, marched in with the Giroux camera already loaded; the widow was clamped in place, the portrait of her late husband which she insisted on holding was arranged in her hands, the lens-cap taken off, and after giving the woman a final injunction to stay perfectly still and not to smile, Mr. Cornelius retired for twenty minutes' worth of reading.

JOHN PRICE WETHERILL
...A scientist from the earliest age, he helped initiate the Franklin Institute of the Mechanical Arts, and served for many years as vice president of the American Philosophical Society, as well as holding offices in every respectable institution of his day.
Mr. Wetherill's fatal disease was contracted while offering his personal attentions to one who, though elected President of the United States, was not the favorite of the party to which Mr. Wetherill belonged. He passed from this life in July of 1853, at the age of fifty-eight, and was mourned greatly by not only his large family, but also the numerous institutions in which he held a founding position or an office of importance.
--Henry Simpson, The lives of eminent Philadelphians, now deceased.

"Five megapixels! Count 'em! One, two, three--" Phil was no novice in using a cameraphone, although this latest model's controls were (of course) different from anything that had come before it.

"Take a picture of the painting, okay?"

"Oh-kay? Are you sure you can say that?"

John sighed. "Yes, since 1840, when Martin Van Buren used it as a campaign slogan. 'Old Kinderhook,' right?" It was, though, a valid question: When a History Maker was in costume, he was not supposed to do or say things that a character from his time wouldn't have done-- the reason why Phil, dressed in a storyteller's uniform, was wielding his friend's cameraphone. He obediently turned the lens away from the man dressed in a top hat, tailcoat, and spats; and toward the Thomas Sully portrait of a man named John Price Wetherill.

The men heard a digitally recorded "click" sound and the image froze on the LCD. "Looks a little like you, don't you think?"

"Nah. Too young. I wish we had an image of him at my age-- but it'd have to be a post-mortem. He only lived to the age of 58." John was just about to turn 59.

"They had photography in those days, I think." His friend nodded.

"Yes, the first photographic technique, the 'daguerreotype.' It was amazing; each molecule of silver iodide crystals absorbed or reflected light precisely as it was in the original scene. My cameraphone's the highest resolution you can get and it's still lower-res than a good silvertype."

"Here, let me take one of you. We'll call this one 'Daguerreotype of John Price Wetherill, the only one in existence,' and sell it for a million dollars." The cameraphone went "click" again.

John chuckled. "Probably not. No one today remembers who he is. But, the guy was great. The mid-1800s was a time when science was advancing by leaps and bounds-- and he was in the middle of it! Y'know, I think I actually like interpreting him, rather than someone well-known like Benjamin Franklin. You get to make a lot up, like that story about how he beat up a guy who was abusing a child."

"You did that, didn't you?"

"Yeah, when I was 21. But I tell it as if it happened to Wetherill. Sometimes I forget where his life ends and mine begins."

"You should say you were married to her." Phil pointed at the Gilbert Stuart portrait of Martha Washington, looking fussy and crabby in her cap.

"He was married to a woman that looked more like that," said John, and pointed at a painting by the same artist, but this one of Dolly Madison.

"Whoa. Baby."

They grinned, slightly lasciviously. Dolly was a famous beauty, and the low-cut dress she wore in the portrait was decidedly enticing. "Hey, let's stop at the American Philosophical Society library. They promised to loan me a picture of Maria Wetherill."

The daguerreotype, a quarter-plate, was kept in a temperature-controlled vault; the museum curator looked as if he would rather have died three times than loan it out. However, the "Once Upon A Nation" program (which employed both of the men) was a favorite of the governor's; and when a museum has to beg for funding in a recession, every little bit of goodwill helps. He did have it put into an airtight case and lectured them on the delicacy of the artifact and its proper care, which both Phil and John agreed to, though Phil wasn't actually borrowing the plate.

For Matrix 5870, the ASUS-built board features a custom extra large dust-proof fan guaranteeing greater longevity, through 22% more air pressure and pure copper fins exceeding reference cooling requirements by 13%. As for the EAH5850 DirectCU TOP, two specially-designed 8mm flattened copper heat pipes contact the GPU directly for up to 20%* better heat dissipation during gameplay as well as 35%* quieter performance than any other reference design board.
--Marco Chiappetta, How Can Eyefinity Change Your Life? Presented by ASUS, HH, and AMD

He didn't say anything about scanning it, thought John as he placed the daguerreotype on his Canoscan LiDE 700F and set it for maximum resolution, 9600 dpi. He imagined that this wouldn't be enough. He hadn't been exaggerating at all when he had told Phil of the incredible resolution of the daguerreotype.

But the scan would have to do. He'd load it up on a flash drive and take it to a printer who would put it onto a tin plate-- silver was beyond the reach of a man on a History Maker's salary, but sealed in a gutta-percha and glass frame (bought just the past week from eBay), it'd be good enough to allow the visitors to Independence National Historical Park to marvel at the artifact.

And he had also not exaggerated the beauty of Maria Wetherill. She had been several years John Price Wetherill's junior when they were married, and the Thomas Sully portrait of her showed a rare beauty; this photograph showed a middle-aged woman of uncommon beauty, certainly attractive even by 21st century standards. The scanner took only fifteen seconds to do its work, and the screens sprang to life.

John had had the good fortune to win an enviable graphics setup to go with his homebrew computer: Three monitors, 23" diagonal each, and a top-of-the-line graphics card to run them. It was his pride and joy, and was given to him by the most respected technical journal on the Web in exchange for a trifle of a science-fiction story he had knocked out in an hour.

The ASUS monitors popped into brilliance, displaying a window with the scanned image. John expanded the window to fill all three screens and meandered about the picture. The woman's dark, intelligent eyes drew him, and he lingered on them for longer than was really necessary. He panned around the other objects; the strap used to hold her hand in place was slightly visible (evidently the photographer was rushed that day) and the portrait she had in her hands was clearly visible,--

John froze. He scrolled the mouse wheel to zoom in further. The ASUS Matrix 5870 graphics card refreshed the minute drawing instantly with each click of the wheel, and the tiny portrait became larger and larger--

John pulled from his pocket the cameraphone and, fingers trembling slightly, held up the last image it had captured to the center screen. His eyes went from one to the other: from the 19th century daguerreotype to the 21st century LCD. He slowly reached up to touch the massively enlarged image, and--

JOHN PRICE WETHERILL
...A scientist from the earliest age, he helped initiate the Franklin Institute of the Mechanical Arts, and served for many years as vice president of the American Philosophical Society, as well as holding offices in every respectable institution of his day.
Mr. Wetherill survived a bout of pleurisy in 1853 and lived very nearly to the age of one hundred. His wife (who coincidentally passed from this life within a week of her beloved husband's departure) was his constant companion, and provided able assistance in his numerous scientific endeavors, to which our modern technology is much indebted.
--Henry Simpson, The lives of eminent Philadelphians, now deceased.

When John didn't show up for work, his supervisor called his emergency contact number, which happened to be his brother Bill. Bill had a key from when he had helped John move into the huge (too large, really) Victorian house in West Philadelphia.

Bill searched the house, basement and attic included, and found nothing but cats that constantly got in his way. (They relented after being fed.) The bed was unmade, but he knew that to be a habit of his brother's, like the sink full of unwashed dishes, and the books and historical artifacts carelessly organized in piles throughout the corridors.

On the third floor, all the way in the back, he saw the computer, which had been left on. He picked the cameraphone off the keyboard, jostling it slightly, breaking the screensaver's darkness; the three enormous monitors showed the antique photograph that was still in the scanner: an image of a 19th century man and a woman, clutching each other tightly, smiling blissfully.

THE END

Exit one John ClemSnide, a creature of the 20th century. He puts to a test a complicated theorem of space-time continuum, but he goes a step further, or tries to. Shortly, he will seek out three moments of the past in a desperate attempt to alter the present - one of the odd and fanciful functions in a shadowland.

Incident on a July afternoon, 1843. A man named John who came and went, and in the process, learned a simple lesson, perhaps best said by a poet named Lathbury, who wrote: 'Children of yesterday, heirs of tomorrow/what are you weaving? This one monster contest.

Well, Eyefinity would change my life, my wife's life and the life of our son.

My wife edits digital images for various websites and uses 3 monitors at work with the option to work from home if she feels like it.  Rarely does she feel like it because she is using two monitors, a dodgy 22" that the manufacturer simply sent us a cheque for rather than send back for RMA with a few months left on the warranty and an old 19" Samsung that she picked up when her company refreshed their computers.

Now, if we won this it would allow for three things.

1.  My wife could work from home because she would have a video card powerful enough to run three monitors and more than enough display real estate to do her job efficiently.

2.  Our son could stay home from daycare more often meaning he would be raised by his parents rather than another person - the way it should be.

3.  I could take the money that we save by not sending our son to daycare and sink it into a bitchin' rig (or maybe I could put it towards our house savings).  See?  Everybody wins!

Awesome contest.  Thanks HH and Asus!

The extent of this infinity. Can Release Me Now.

I am free.

A wing appears on the finger.

The wing which doesn't become shape.

My fingertip approaches the key(board), and flaps.

My eye isn't useful when I stare at the something.

The line of the zero. An eye to stare at the world of nothing.

An empty eye besides, to stare at stillness.

Stillness is nothing, and spreads out in this infinity.

Eyefinity would not only change my life but could also save a life. As a hobby and strong passion of mine i love to track and chase storms and report their progress, damage, and path to the local authorities and the National Weather Service so they can report this information back to the public of any impending dangers. On my desktop i currently have only one monitor and when running multiple programs, getting broadcast and updates from the NWS and communicating with them I run out of monitor real fast. Having eyefinity from ATI would allow me to spread out my programs and applications and be more efficient.

ASUS is known as the grand company behind all boards; motherboards such as graphics and sound cards. They create them all in the first place, before anyone else, and should continue to do this all the time in the future.

What I've noticed with regular graphics cards is that you either work on a singular screen or "stereo" wide (2 screens), but Eyefinity gives you a larger perspective of 3-6 screens per card and with CrossFireX you get the whole 12 screens in Eyefinity, which will surround your perspective only if the producers are able to create such applications that gives you such look-around-the-player perspective. This idea is what I'm looking for and I really hope our great producer ASUS and AMD will provide this in the near future. The Eyefinity is propably the best idea so far, better than NVIDIAs "PhysX CUDA" which I've never saw as a benefit on anything due there are no games that uses this. Red is the color and AMD is the one to choose!

Ever since Eyefinity came out, I've always dreamed of owning one. My sister and I own a very small printing business here in Manila. We always encounter lots of limitations with our hardware in terms of performance and limited desktop space. 5 Years ago, we only had single core processor PC's to work with. Back then I was still dreaming of owning at least a dual core system. I was thinking back then that with a dual core machine, I'd be able to do my work faster resulting in better productivity.

Then we finally upgraded to our now aging X2's. At first it was fun working with programs faster and then multitasking was becoming a normal thing however i again encounter another bottleneck that I've never thought of before we had dual core machines... Limited Desktop Space/View.

When working with multiple programs and files, having a lot of desktop space really helps. Sure, we can use software's to simulate multiple virtual desktops, but it isn't the same as displaying your work side by side. I only have a 17" CRT monitor and even if you crank it up to maximum resolution, it just gets very uncomfortable to work with, everything is so small and hard to see.

Have you ever tried working on multiple images with GIMP on a limited display? At 1280x960, comparing the original copy with the duplicate your working on is just plain hard. I feel like my alt-tab keys are about to crack.

We're now planning to move to X3's or even X4's in the near future. But we just don't have enough budget for a powerful graphics cards capable of displaying to multiple monitor.

I am hoping that AMD/ATI can turn our BLINDFINITY problem into an actual EYEFINITY work heaven.

UPDATE: I revised the wallpaper i made yesterday. Photobucket kept on resizing images above 1.0mb. Click the link to view it.

Well, if creativity is warranted, why not a ridiculous poem?

----

Lined up in rows were vendors
Quiet enough that you could hear their impatient glares
The silence was chilling like frost,
But neither suffocating nor welcoming
The creak of the ground was audible with every step
On my fifth step, something caught my eye,
An exuberant hand beckoned me towards his solid Formica stand
With a determination burning in his eyes
To promote,
To sell,
To market,
Like a good customer, I followed his waving hand motions
The decor wasn't impressive
But the infinite rows of pure technology certainly caught my eye.
I was awestruck
I was bedazzled
I was impressed
Screens were mutely showcasing scenes of tremendous races,
Battles of modernized combat,
An undersea world,
Resplendent and fascinating
Kid, he called, snapping me out of my reverie
Like what you see?
An affirmative nod, speechless
With a grin as large as the Cheshire cat, he reached behind the counter and pulled out what appeared to be a rectangular object
Is this a brick, to be thrown around? I asked
With an uproarious laugh, the vendor jabbed a finger at the sign
It read
EYEFINITY
Kid, he said, this will change your life
His words, smooth, and charismatic, were oh-so believable
In a minute, my wallet was empty,
And a life changing brick had I in my hands
An EYEFINITY life changing brick, wrapped in colourful cardboard
Full of wondrous goodness
Splendid beyond measure

As I was walking back, a nocturne shadow loomed over me
Turning around with fright, I realized what it was,
A shady vendor!
His eyes glinted with steel and darkness, and in his hand was an ominous, noir keyboard
He swung with all his might, and clipped me in the shoulder
Scared out of my mind, I turned to flee for my life
But a voice was calling to me
Was it the little brick in my hand?
Maybe it was, or the vendor shouting at me
Regardless, I knew what to do
With a battle cry of only twenty three decibels, I swung the EYEFINITY package into the jaw of the assailant
It struck!
With a mighty groan, he toppled over, and fell, never to rise again
His shady dealings were over with
Worried about my life-saving object, I inspected it
Miraculously, it was perfectly intact
Not a single scratch
I gazed deeply at it,
And I saw that already, it was changing the course of my life

Eyefinity can change your life by allowing your computer to help you. When working, you can use the left and right monitors for notes or desktop icons or stuff, and the central one for the main application, like a video player or document or image editor...

When the work is done you can relax and play your favorite games with resolution, visual quality and framerates made possible by Eyefinity and one of the worlds best graphics cards. When you get tired of gaming (I'm not really sure if that's even possible with Eyefinity) you can go for a walk in the park or go see some friends and talk about how your new Eyefinity system changed your life.

Well, I won't make this long. So, I am in a family of 15 people, 12 siblings. I would love to have this setup so that we could do multiple things at once. Plus, we are not in good shape money wise. I would make it longer but don't have the time. I would also like to get a BFBC2, however our pc would not handle it, unless we got a better system. Thanks for reading this!

Title: How can eyefinity change the story of a man's life?

Easy. Hell. Eyefinity can change any mans life for good. For a person like myself, who suffers from a ridiculous AMD fever, this will be a dream come true. To be honest with you guys, If I where able to win the hardware I’d take over my entertainment world! How will I do this? By building my own custom “EYEFUL TOWER” of power. Peep the schematic. If I won, id be able to Blueprint and Expand my own state-of-the-art entertainment center that will make all of the fellas drool. Yes, I want them to spew saliva all over my carpet after they see my rig. That would be awesome for me. Especially since I need retaliation against my best friend Bob who made me feel really small when he set up his awesome new Eyefinity display  (3 fresh out of the box ASUS VW246H 24" Wide-screen LCD Monitors and an ATI 5970). This would really surprise the heck out of him and it would allow me open up a gigantic can of whoop-ass! I am determined to crush his set up at some point in my life (he always seems to beat me (rig competitions). At the moment, I feel rather inferior, since I don’t have the funds to compete with him and I currently own an ATI card in the HD3000 series ( X-fire 3870). Oh yeah, did I mention that you guys could help save my marriage!? HA-HA! Heres the story. My wife and I argue all of the timeee. It seems like it happens every time one of us has not a thing to do. The marriage counselor actually had the nerve to recommend more sex. I have to disagree since i have the affinity to impregnate her with my “one eyed monster”. = X I already made her pop out two munchkins for me, we don’t need anymore (don't worry kids daddy loves you ). I think she’d prefer another form of “HOT HARDWARE” this time around. Perhaps a spanking new ASUS MATRIX 5870 and a tri-fecta of high quality ASUS monitors!?? SEE!! AMD, ASUS and GAMERS REPUBLIC!!! You guys can act as a marriage counselor by giving me the hardware = )! It sounds like a grand idea doesn't it!!!! If I could build my own smoking hot “EYEFUL TOWER” of power, I am sure we wouldn't argue as much.Streaming high definition NBA basketball in EXTREME resolutions (beyond a mere 1080p) would be joyful. Being able to finally escape from watching that darn American Idol and that awful Dancing With The Stars would be a relief!....I'm getting hot just thinking about it. If you hook me up I will be able to leave the room blissfully. I can take a chill pill and enjoy the crap out of myself knowing that Ill be distracted by a new level of immersive digital entertainment. SAVE ME! Look at this way, you'd be doing society a good deed....Let Eyefinity change my life.  Help me open up a can of whoop-ass on my friends, save me some marriage counseling fees and last but not least, cure this AMD fever for Christ's sake!

                                                                                            THE END

s13 4 years ago

So how can eyefinity change my life? Let me explain...If you asked me that question 6 months ago, i could have some subjective answers but it goes a bit deeper than that. I've owned Ati products since the fabled 9500 and was in love so much i managed to get a 9700 pro from a friend when he upgraded to a 9800 (yeah my friends upgraded nearly every generation!). Fast forward a bit to the subject at hand. I read alot of articles on eyefinity. I became instantly tunnel visioned once I saw it in action online and even the screenshots had my imagination running with strategic advantages that 3 monitors would inevitably bring. I kept doing research and found an interesting thread that spoke of doing this via a software solution and any monitor configuration. I HAD TO HAVE IT. Having very little spare money (having a set of 2 year old twins, boy and girl will do that to you), i figured this would be my only option as buying 3 monitors just is not a possibility for me. I managed to scape up money since august for a 5850 which i bought a couple months ago...after I got the card I immediately tried the pseudo eyefinity setup. I had 2 17 inch crts and a 15 inch crt that i raced to hook up and grab out of my closet of fame (which is now home to my storied 9700 pro and my sli 8mb v2s of gaming lore from many moons ago...pre-fatherhood of course!) and began reading the documentation. After about 20 minutes I was finally ready to fire it up! I tried modern warfare 2...no luck, avp 2010....no luck, quake live...no luck. I was starting to get really despirate so I loaded up HL2 and BAM! IT WORKED! I'm just sitting in the middle of the square at the beginning of the game looking around in utter amazement...not even playing, just walking around and exploring. I could not believe what an effect it had on gameplay. I mean, you can read as many articles and watch as many youtube videos as you want but you will NOT be able to appreciate what this does for your experience until you see it for yourself...and mine was faux!!! So I'm sitting there with my 2 17s and 15 inch monitor in the middle when I noticed my keyboard was wet?!??! I had let out involuntary tears of utter joy and from then on I have been OBSESSED with eyefinity. I know its not realistic for me which is why i do strongly believe it will always remain a pipe dream for me with my responsibilities as most other users here I'm sure can relate. I wish everyone could win, i know my chances are slim and I'm not the most creative writer, but I truly love gaming enough to have competed and dominated with my team (cK TDM team: s13 [me], czm [Paul Nelson], ouija [Alex Bottelo] and fatal1ty [Jonathan Wendell] - unbeaten for over 2 years in quake 3 TDM, winners of Frag4 and many other tournaments) at the highest level and continue to game constantly every day (when my computer is working of course!). I have to buy a motherboard tomorrow which will be the foxcon a79a-s since my jetway hummer died (a whole week after I got my new cpu and was back up and running) and i found it for $75 (http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-A79AS&c=pw). Being the oldschool gamer I am, i can truly appreciate this setup and WILL be posting videos of it in full use should I be lucky enough to be chosen. I think being chosen would top the experience I had when we went unbeaten at Frag4 and was handed a check from John Carmack himself at the award ceremony.

Oh really, a set of 3 buget-orienated monitors will probably run you down approximately $450 and the money . And last time I checked, twins will not drain your "budget", a pair of 6 kids will leave you with even less spare money then you claim you have.
I managed to scape up money since august for a 5850 which i bought a couple months ago...after I got the card I immediately tried the pseudo eyefinity setup. AVP 2010?, Modern Warfare 2? How do you have the money to spend on these games? You said you've bought the card a couple of months ago right? If you started to save up to buy monitors then you should have 130 dollars saved up by now. Also you have ancient systems that you keep around, perhaps you could sel them to raise even more money.
So I'm sitting there with my 2 17s and 15 inch monitor in the middle when I noticed my keyboard was wet?!??! I had let out involuntary tears of utter joy and from then on I have been OBSESSED with eyefinity.
Really, I thought you were obsessed when you READ a lot of articles on Eyefinity and decided that you must have the card surely for the benefit of Eyefinity.
I know its not realistic for me which is why i do strongly believe it will always remain a pipe dream for me with my responsibilities as most other users here I'm sure can relate.
You want to know what's not realistic, you're story. This is just pratically made to make us feel bad for you, I'm sure they can relate to the many flaws that your story has.
but I truly love gaming enough to have competed and dominated with my team (cK TDM team: s13 [me], czm [Paul Nelson], ouija [Alex Bottelo] and fatal1ty [Jonathan Wendell] - unbeaten for over 2 years in quake 3 TDM, winners of Frag4 and many other tournaments) at the highest level and continue to game constantly every day (when my computer is working of course!).
This is what made me aware that the story could be fabricated. Apparently I looked up the Kapitol clan, on the members page. You're not even on it, (http://kapitolsports.com/?page_id=12). And Fatal1ty is like the most known Quake 3 gamer with HUNDREDS of endorcements and a lot of money. Surely if you were in a clan with Fatal1ty then perhaps you should get the same level of fame as him. This sounds like someone's fantasy king, if he hung out with Fatal1ty then I'm the "King of the Internet" and I'm a better gamer then Fatal1ty.
I have to buy a motherboard tomorrow which will be the foxcon a79a-s since my jetway hummer died (a whole week after I got my new cpu and was back up and running) and i found it for $75 (http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-A79AS&c=pw/).
You got a new CPU and a new motherboard... I thought you were strapped for cash...
Being the oldschool gamer I am, i can truly appreciate this setup and WILL be posting videos of it in full use should I be lucky enough to be chosen.
Really, I thought we had to be up close to actually experience Eyefinity the same way that you do... Didn't you say that earlier in your post.
I think being chosen would top the experience I had when we went unbeaten at Frag4 and was handed a check from John Carmack himself at the award ceremony.
Really, there was an awards ceramony and a check was given... By John Carmack nonetheless, wowwee. Did you also get all the women when you were at QuakeCon? and were you in all of the pictures Fatal1ty was in. How can winning an Eyefinity contest top what is esentially John Carmack giving you guys a check? There are no room for liars in this contest, I never claimed I was in a gaming clan with Fatal1ty who got millions of endorcements. You however made yourself a fantasy where you are a pro gamer and you were in a clan with Fatal1ty... Some of us have real life problems but we don't use them to win a contest. Eyefinity can change a life if it were in the right hands, you however are not the right hands.

s13 4 years ago

Winning eyefinity can top getting a check because i don't have the money. I'm sure you can see how winning an eyefinity setup can last a bit longer than $1600...and again, i never said i went to quakecon, i never been yet, just frag4. We never really had a website, our buddy chris (ck-flea at the time) never finished it due to (get ready this may shock you) him having his first baby, they sorta change your priorities a bit and the team wasn't pressed for a website since everyone knew who we were anyway.

Somewhere in the heart of Silicon Valley, there is a lad named Me. Monday through Friday, nine to five, he worked and toiled processing loans in monotony. To fight ennui once off from work, he turned to gaming for the entertainment perk.

Unfortunately, and to Me’s dismay, his computer was outdated, the graphics quite poor; with the pixelated images and choppy frame rate, him playing games meant receiving a noob stomping and not much more. The happiness and glee he hoped to gain was instead replaced with anguish and mental pain. Rage quit, rage quit, fume and stare at yet another lost match before pulling out his hair.

And just when it seemed all hope was lost, Me won an eyeinfinity setup from HotHardware. At Last, at last, Me could game without beer goggles to keep him sane. The picture was perfect and wondrously clear. Now when gaming, Me was happy and full of cheer.

He became more merry, more pleasant, more jovial all around and attracted a wonderful lady while out in town. And as all stories of this fairy tale nature, Me lived happily ever after. Thanks of course to Awesome Glorious Eyeinfinity!

OK Taylor and Inspector :P Lets not get all worked up over these one off posts :)

Lets just wait and see if they are serious about sticking around and enjoying the site. Or if they are just someone who should really clean out their Bong before they go posting after searching for current contests while sitting in their moms basement in their tightey whiteys and not just drinking it.
My favorite was "A gamer should never be denied awesomeness" ....Yeah they are not, that is why you are able to go out and buy an eyefinity setup, but being denied winning one is not ones right? :P

All we can do is laugh. If not, I could have gone off about an ignorant blogger in in underpants telling me to get more education! That would have been like me telling Realneil that working on the space program only makes one stupid:P Without knowing Someone personally, or having a full understanding of the topics discussed.

Just remember that not everyone has an imagination. And even the ones with imagination are not always fully unbiasedly self taught, only have thought based on what has been taught to them.  I think they are just trying to make up stories just to win free stuff.  Lets hope they stick around.

Whats with the negative trash Campaign? Have you been taking your cues from democratic strategists lately. If you don't win or are not ahead in the poles, just start to debase the opposition and blame everyone else? I also hope these one shot-ers don't luck out. But chasing them away is not much fun either :) SO throw the beer away, and do pick up the Be-ong....Please, and relax :) I am sure there will be more contests with even better prizes, or should I say progressive :P

I have been keeping up with the articles as well, and It seems like realneil has us both beat in that arena. Now, I am not as fast a texter as you are so I haven't been keeping up with all the Cell phone posts' ...Yet I had to go back through almost three pages of articles before I caught one of your posts.

There are many tells that the guy who claims himself to be "s13" and the claims themselves are fake.

1. According to the interview, s13 is in clan Kapitol and according to 2005, they were still dominating. I also researched this and according to this interview (http://www.cyberfight.org/offline/interviews/11535/), they're also the most unstoppable team around. Now a clan that gives it's best at QuakeCon, beats all of the other teams and gets a check handed to them from John Carmack that's worth 25 thousand dollars. The thing that tips me off is that "how can twins make him broke when he's won all of these gaming competitions, won cash prizes from them and yet he is somehow broker then a mom with quintuplets? Especially if he has money to buy the latest games.

2. He provides contradicting points to when he was obsessed with Eyefinity, he claims that he was first obsessed with Eyefinity when he read articles and saw a video about it, now he claims he's obsessed when he actually experienced Eyefinity himself. A professional gamer would never contradict himself.

3. Another concerning thing, he claims to have gotten a 9700 Pro when his friend got a 9800. If he's such a pro gamer who's part of a team with Fatal1ty then why couldn't he buy the 9800 himself?

4. Absolutely nothing could top being given a check by John Carmack, that's every gamer's wet dream. Also after reading the interview, I definately know that is not him, but some impostor.

And with this, I'm not going to get worked up over him anymore.

How about you send me an email at corey80581@gmail.com or better yet come in irc on enterthegame and hop in #ck and message me, or in #smf since i play clan arena with them now instead of slinging accusations that I'm not actually me. You can look up all the interviews you like and yes i did a nice piece when we dabbed in quake 4 for a bit. I'm sorry but some elements of your initial story sounded very fishy to me. You said you were on stage with John Carmack when he handed fatal1ty the $25,000 check, I assumed you won that as a clan but apparently it's "Jonathan's money". Your description of income taxes are weird, I thought it was a tax levied on a person based on their income. Not something you get when you "pay your taxes" and where you can make some "purchases". Also I'm not a parent but I know that twins will not strap you that much, you say you have to buy two of everything right... Did you buy two packs of diapers, formula's and bottles? I just do not buy the cash strapped thing, especially since raising 6-8 kids will strap your budget even further.

Also there's the contradictions. As an expert gamer who knows all of the connects and all of the respect of any Quake 3 or Live players in the community, you can't get an IRC server right? Also the only thing that will prove to me that your legit is the fact that s13 on the IRC will of heard of HotHardware. Furthermore, he should also have a @ or a ~ near his name and the channels you specified should be at least packed since well... People know who you are.

I'm not angry, I'm just concerned. When I saw that you were in a clan with fatal1ty, I instantly got suspicious because "What would a guy who was in a clan with fatal1ty be doing here?" and I read the rest of the post and I saw many flaws with your post. And I don't know of someone who would use corey80581 as his email when I was expecting to see something along the lines of ckspookie13 or coreyallen13. 80581 at the end just sounds suspicious. Again, everybody has an equal chance in this contest and I'm not trying to drive anybody out, I'm just concerned that he is not what he says especially since anybody can read interviews, look up his personal background and pretend to be him in the IRC chat's and/or forums. So good luck to everybody else here.

John Carmack did hand john a check at quakecon for 25k. I was handed the check by carmack at frag4 for 8k in sept 2000 but the rest of the team was on the stage too.

Income tax return is what I'm talking about , you know, when you pay the government too much and you get that check when you file your taxes? I'm sure at least 1 other person here knows what I'm talking about.

Yes I buy 2 of everything for my kids and still do, including toys because they don't like to share common toys (like music keyboards etc that both boys and girls can play with). I know people doing very well with 6 and 8 kids, but they are on government assistance, i am not. You can email me as well at s13qlive@yahoo.com but i just use that as my sign in for qlive. Corey80581 was created when I got married to my wife as the numbers are her birthday (8-5-1981).

I don't understand what you're talking about with irc. I'm probably not on it right now since my wife is on my home pc and i'm on my work pc. she's on my pc because my motherboard died and i just moved my hd and vid card to hers to have some decent fps when i play till i replace the board. If YOU are so entrenched in the qlive and quake community you would know that you don't have to have the op symbol by your name to not be an imposter. I haven't auth'd in a long time and never do, ask anyone in #smf if i care about ops or voice. I just hang out there to coordinate playing with my friends and teammates. again, my pc probably isn't in irc right now, so ill have to connect via mibbit from work pending the proxy changes haven't been implemented. if that doesn't quench your imposter-like thirst, I'll call the mrs while chatting to you online and have her hop in irc on my pc so you can see "cK-s13" join the channel.

Oh and another note. I've been a member of this site since 2006 if you haven't noticed. I make almost all my hardware decisions based on reviews and findings of this website. Just because I don't post doesn't mean I don't follow. I'm sure Dave and another admin can look up my ip and see how many times i've hit their site from both work and home as legitimate proof that I'm a VERY frequent  visitor.

s13 4 years ago

1. lol, who said I went to quake con and won 25k? It was frag4 and 8k was prize split 6 ways 10 years ago.

2. I said i was tunnel visioned, which meant i really wanted to know all i could and wanted that setup. Seeing eyefinity on the net had me wanting it and i learned more about it. I did not contradict myself, hence the statement "If you asked me 6 months ago" blah blah, because I had just seen it online and not in person. Seeing it in person and online are two different things that I realized once I got it 'working'...in short, you appreciate it alot more when you can control the movement and not watching someone else. If you love racecars but never had one, you will have the greatest feeling when watching the races, but you can't compare it to the feeling you get when you finally strap yourself into your racecar and take it out on the track yourself...if you can't see the analogy or reasoning in that statement then that is your choice.

3. Again, being on a team with fat doesn't mean you get his money. He won %99 of his money in DUEL tournaments with ridiculous purses. TDM purses were no where near in comparison. For instance, that weekend at frag4, first place prize was 8k, and we split that amongst the 5 of us who went. The female 1v1 tourney top prize was 2k for first place, so Succubus (my old friend Cary Szeto) actually made out alot better than us "TDM'ers" in that she won more money and a top of the line compaq computer (at the time) as well.

4. It was great but it was many moons ago, I'll take eyefinity over that, thanks. If I'm an imposter, come to irc and start saying I'm not who I am so you can get laughed at.

5. You shouldn't have gotten worked up in the first place, but hey, what would the world be without haters right? Someone has to take that role.

The question "How can Eyefinity change your life?" has been asked to many and answered by many with more to come. But you haven't gotten my answer yet and that's probably your hold up on picking a winner. But now that won't be an issue because you are getting my answerWink. Eyefinity changes lives of many but not many have the opportunity to have their lives changed, they either can't afford it or well that's maybe it because who wouldn't get Eyefinity power if they could? Well to me Eyefinity will change my life in many ways. One is i will lose all my friends and be come a computer addict never leaving my room unless my computer comes with me... LOL that could be a a result if i had it... or it can change my life for the better and maybe some day make it better for all! I currently have a two screen set up with a alright monitor and a crappy second monitor i got from my sisters broken desktop and she decided to get a laptop. Some maybe like well you have two desktop that's one more then me and you should be happy. Well i am but it would make me even happier to have 3 more monitors hooked up to increase my performance and speed though all those work i have. I do my projects which include essays, reports, story guides, story books, and more. All these require me to do research and even though two screens are better then one so i have my Microsoft words open on one screen and my research, chats (Group projects), browsers(Multiple ones) and other software  i require like photo editing software to do my projects.) "Kids are the future" is what many say, that makes me the future and if i do good the future will be good. But then again "Kids" is plural and "I" is singular...  If i had Eyefinity i can be part of the future which will make my life that much better, If my life is that much better i may someday make everyone life that much better. The future is not the limit, your actions are. So i currently do all those projects on my two screen set up, but if i win this awesome prize I can improve. I will keep one of my current monitors and use it for Microsoft words, then with the three monitors if i am that lucky will have two screens for my research(Internet research and more) and the third screen will have my chats, email and other software i require to do my project. This will increase my time on finishing these projects and do more...(Really? im a kid, i wish there was no projects right now xD). But non the less i will finish my projects that much faster and get a that much better grade Big Smile. Now that is not all i would do with such a great technology, along with school work i game and work on improving my skills for the future. On my free time i will one of course have one screen open on HotHardWare at all times Big Smile(Not kissing up, its the fact Stick out tongue), and then have one,two or three screens open to a game enjoy the epicness of Eyefinity. Now i have one more screen left... I will use that to work on improving my skills in photo editing (I really do need to work on that...) and more.(when i die or the game is loading or paused... Who am i kidding! I would never die...{j/k I suck... badly at games} lol well that is my second entry(My first entry proves my photo editing point...) Now you can ship that prize my way Dave/Marco!!! lol j/k I wish everyone a good luck and enjoy your stay on HH!

Eyefinity (6) would allow me to hook up 6 big monitors or plasma TV-s to a computer so i have a huge screen and huge resolution, attach them  nicely to some board so they don't fall down to their death (its 4 stories up!), put them on my balcony which is facing a large boulevard and take my dad's giant speakers he made 'at least 100 years ago' and play funny videos and pictures or something like that from my computer, under my full control. When i gain popularity i'll be on television and talk about why would i do such a thing. I will reply: "Because i want people to be amazed and to laugh when they walk down the street. That would definitely make their day batter. Its all thanks to ATI Eyefinity technology. It really changed my life!"

Oh you crazy kids Stick out tongue

Back on topic though. What resolution are those monitors? 23in 1920x1080 would be pretty small dpi. Not that it's a bad thing. One of the guys in my TF2 clan got a new monitor a while back and I had to write a script for him to make all the text bigger because he couldn't read the in game chat or server browser because it was so small. I tested it out on my HDTV. I could read text just fine, but that is 2 times the size of these guys.

HuskyPkTeam 4 years ago

1920x1080 and 23" is 96 dpi. I have a 21,5 inch HD monitor and i can read it. If your friend can't read at 96 dpi he should wear glasses

You want a story? How about I haven't had a TV for the last 8 years of my life? How bout's you let me win the contest so I can watch MY stories (ie General Hospital, Days of our Lives, Glee, etc...). No but seriously, I watch all of my television online on my clunker of a monitor, and Eyefinity would not only change my life, it would also improve my eyesight. So: health benefits for me is the best story yet. EYEFINITY WILL SAVE MY LIFE.

So, I was walking down the street one day, enjoying the sun, the shade, the weather, thinking to myself "Why the hell am I outside? Why am I not playing on my machine at home, shootin', strafin' and lettin' everyone know who really owns that FPS they're enjoying?"

But then I recalled the sad state of my Graphics Cards, the even poorer state of my monitor, and I remembered that, although you may have a dual core, your system just can't handle Call of Duty 4 that well with on board memory.

Alas, I wiped that solitary tear which slid from my eye away, and continued my quest down town to search for some answer to this problem which plagued me, searching near and far for a monitor, graphics card, or perhaps even a Internet Cafe which would have the power to provide me with my fix.

As I passed by the downtown stores, I stopped to peer through the glass of one fine establishment, thinking "My, that Pita looks awfully delicious", silently counting the dimes in my pocket, running the coins between my finger, doing a quick tally as I imagined chicken, peppers, ranch and bacon.

"Drop the cash."

I felt something press into my back. Oh SNAP! I'm being mugged... In broad daylight? WTF is this!?

I sigh, and slowly pull my hand full of loose change from my pocket, that Pita dissapearing from my mind, slowly fading into nothing...

But then...

That Pita reappeared, and it was in the hand of a man dressed in black, with a gun, and a cool, cast iron look.

"What would I do, Chump?"

"Aww, Com' on Max! I can't bend time like you, you crazy time bendin' sally!"

"Chump."

"But your THE Max Payne."

"Chump." He took a bite of my Pita.

Wait. Max Payne callin' me a chump? I led him through that amusement house, I killed those mad clowns, I carried his near dead body through that last fight.

Alright Max.

I look to my left, and wait, In the window of a car parked on the side of the road, I see the man with the gun yawn, closing his eyes for just a second.

"That'd be a sweet use of dual monitors..." I thought.

Spin, boom smack, knock that gun from his hand.

In the reflection of his shady glasses I see his buddy tryin' to get the drop on me.

"That'd be an epic use for a third monitor.

Duck, spin, grab, flip..

Both guys are cryin', on the ground, begging me for their lives.

That's right.

Chump that Max.

I consider their pleas, and think to myself, this wouldn't have been possible without Max. Thank you video games....

Oh wait,

Than, I proceed to detail my need for 3 monitors, and Eyefinity card, and then, only then, might I let them live...

A story:

Three screens, two eyes.

I'm not sure that brain could register the graphical magnificence from ASUS' Matrix 5870. Especially if it was stretched across three beautiful 23" LCD monitors. I can see myself sitting down in front of the three magnetic screens trying to do homework. But I can't focus with those icons on the desktop distracting me: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat, and Dirt 2 taunt me from the desktop. I can't resist and I double click.

Three screens, not enough eyes.

I'm in Chernobyl, or I'm on a race track. Suddenly there's dirt on my wrists, and water dripping from the ceiling. My eyes dance all around, I hear footsteps, engines, dripping, the hum of an engine and gunfire. There's smoke in the distance and flashes around the corner. Sensory overload, I can't handle it. I

scramble for the exit button, and I snap back into reality. The dirt is gone, and the ceiling no longer drips.

Three screens, Eyefinity provides more.

I remain productive for a few moments before my eyes drift back down to those same icons again. At this rate, I'm never going to get anything done.

So True Dave!!....Marius did say it best, and shorter than what I was trying to accomplish. I think to many took the "Contest" part to literally, and forgot to have fun? I guess that's why my girlfriend says I talk to much?

Sorry to get dragged into the schoolyard :P
Although I hope having the only video does not put one into the forefront! But either way good luck to all!

After a couple days rendering, Lets go for another original? I would like to give credit to Sci-fi meshes.com and sci-fi3d.com. They have some great models one there. As well as many years of resources from 3D world magazine. Everything else is me. Yes that box in front is actually modeled. The photos I took of the box came out very sharp so it turned out pretty good. I was aiming to produce something that the winner could put up on their new tri-screen setup, stretch across it and get the feeling of being inside:)

So with every ones debates about Cinema formats, I know everyone has a paper set. So all I have to say is....

Man i have an awesome idea! Get 6 huge TV-s and arrange them in a cube. You would never leave that cube.

Eyefinity can change your life.

animatortom 4 years ago
I originally rendered it to 4K size. each one took over seven hours, Since I did it in Max. Max relies on CPU and RAM, and since I only have a 2.8Dualcore and 4GB Ram, it felt like forever! If I was able to transfer it to Maya then the 8800 would have churned it out within minutes. The composition in Photoshop took some time as well.

But all in good fun, and it keeps me off the schoolyard:)
HuskyPkTeam 4 years ago

Dammit. Mine took only 1 and a half hour. I got lucky. The sky and ground color computation is highly complex and it must be precise. 7 hours?? man... send it to me if you need a boost. I overclock my cpu to 3.6 GHz

I hope my english is good enough for this.

There is a man which travels the world trying to help people in all kinds of dangerous situations, like wars, terrorist attacks and even zombie outbreaks.

He is not a very skilled man, so he usually stays at the back, healing and covering so that others can kill, infiltrate or escape safely.

Unfortunately, he can't see everyone everytime and lots of his comrades die because of it. Being a good soul, he gets very sad and constantly prays to God for anything that will make him better, specially a third eye.

Eyefinity will surely make life better and help a poor man like me save other lives.

Thanks for reading.

AKwyn 4 years ago

Word to the wise, make sure you have the appropriate power ("CPU", "Memory") before entering. I have a system that is at least decent enough to run this with good framerates.

Okay, fourth entry/story.

There once was a man, a gamer if you will. His system was the bomb, he knew where everything was; he could hear everything there was, he could even sense the knifer who was coming at him from the side. The only problem was, he couldn't keep his focus; whereever there was a fly he'd get disctracted, whereever there was a random object passing him, he'd get distracted, he just couldn't stay focused on the screen in front of him, the parts of his eyes missing the sights they need. Then came a beacon of hope, something that appeared basically out of nowhere as if he just wished for it. His hands sweaty, he opens the box ever so delicately and what does he find inside?, a good will present from the folks at AMD and ASUS. He also found a note in there and he picked it up and read it. It read "Sir, I hear you're having problems focusing on the game, we hope this will help. Sincerily, -Your folks at AMD and ASUS" and he thought to himself, "Could this be the thing I need to immerse myself in focus?" and he picked up the card, ever so holy and walked to the computer.

He opened the case of his computer and took out his old graphics card (which was pretty mighty at the time) a nd he placed the new graphics card and he seated it firmly in his slot. He took out his old monitor and he installed the 3 in a way which satisfied the human eyes. He then turned it on, he thought to himself, "Okay... Nothing special." but then the system booted and he was amazed at all of the screen real-estate he now had, he could place the icons he could never place on there before, he could sort the screens like he never could do before but most of all, he could game like he never gamed before. So he popped in Battlefield Bad Company 2, he set the resolution and he joined a server. He waited for the loading bar to load, oh sweet long loading bar. When it loaded, he was amazed. He saw things that he could never see before, he became a lot more focused then he had with one screen but something unexpected happened, he became immersed in the game. He did what he always did before he had Eyefinity; game. Only this time, he was much more determined then before. While he was moving with his team he spoted an enemy in the balcony and another in an allyway to the left. Thinking quickly on his feat, he tells the squad about the enemy on the balcony while he aims his gun at the enemy to the left and he kills him; he then continues on as there is no time to rest when enemies are roaming around. Much later they comes accross something real special, a control point; He and his squad take a look at the surrounds and they discover that it's heavily fortified.

But he had hope as the Eyefinity gave him more to see, his teammates anxiously await his orders. Thinking quickly, he tells the squad to flank from the left and right and he'll go for the center. The squad agrees to this plan and they split up, leaving the guy all alone; he jumps down into a crowded corridor where is field of view is cut off, but then he notices something on the right, an enemy; thinking quickly, he knifes the guy and moves on. Later on, he regroups with his squad, of which they survived the onslaught. In the distance is the control point but there are snipers up there on the roofs, willing to pick off anyone who even comes close to the flag. Using his eyes, he spotted at least 4 snipers guarding the perimiter, one on each building. Thinking quickly, he becomes a sniper and orders his squad to go out there as decoys. The plan works as the snipers become focused on the decoys and the guy aims his sniper rifle at his head; holding his breath, he aims for the head and fires the trigger and in a stroke of luck, the bullet hit his head directly and killed him. The snipers took note at the sniper who was just killed but they were more worried about the soldiers on the ground so they kept on aiming and shooting. The guy then took out the second sniper with a bit of luck and the remaining two took notice and decided to stop focusing on the squad and started focusing on trying to find the sniper who's taking them out. Meanwhile the squad who were out there decided to enter the buildings the snipers were in while they were distracted and they do so.

They split into two teams and entered the two buildings, they made sure to sneak to prevent the snipers from getting their attention. When they reached the top, they were still looking for the guy who sniped two of their snipers unknowningly. The two teams each pick a member to sneak up behind them and kill them with a knife. Knowing the risks, they both accept and they sneak as quietly as they can. A loud floorboard almost gave away their position but the snipers were too focused on finding that guy. When the two soliders approached their respective snipers, they take out their knives and they stick it in their kneck killing them. Back on the ground, the guy was busy trying to find a good spot to snipe from when his radio went on. He picked it up and held it to his ear, it transmitted. "Sir, we've taken out the remaining two snipers, we're coming to the control point." and he turned off the radio and headed to the control point and he was reunited with his squad. He watched as the enemy flag went down and an ally flag right up. Just before it reached the top however, he noticed something to the left, it was a guy and his squad aiming to take back the control point. Without hesitating, he throws a grenade to where the guys are and he manages to kill some of them, he then goes over and finishes off whoever is alive. When he is done doing that, he recieves a reminder that the control point has been captured and everybody is happy, especially the guy with Eyefinity. He turned off the game and he had a sight of happiness in his mouth, he lay down on the bed and pulled the covers on himself. He went to sleep knowing that his life has truely been changed.

The End.

I may do a fourth entry but it's going to be an image.

Oh, so you want your books to be shorter and have pretty colors and images on the pages? Look at you mister "I want to win Eyefinity so I can hook up 6 large plasma screens and play funny videos and pictures so I can become famous." While it's a nice idea you have, it's already been done. Have you been to Times Square?, the screens are bigger and some of them even play what you describe at their own discression. I have entered 2 entries doing something different then gaming and what, you're going to critizize those storys for being too long? Stories are supposed to be long, you're supposed to read them and imagine yourself as the guy, you're supposed to imagine the events happening, these stories can also carry messages but they're designed to make people think, to travel people to distant worlds. You are one of those guys who read the first page of Harry Potter, then decide to stop reading after the first page and go watch the movie adaptation because you find it more entertaining then a book.

Also tl;dr applies to internet rants. This is a story, not a rant. Stop critizing other people's work, all people have a fair chance at this you know.

Successful troll is successful!

Ok just kidding here. I have read your story, and everyone's story and i like most of them! I only don't like when people use ASUS, AMD and 5870 a lot in their entries. I live in Serbia, which is not filled with huge screens everywhere. So this would be unique here. And no. I never mentioned that i want to win any prize, or what would i do if i won the prize, or to become rich. This is just for fun!

I need to win to save my life. My doctor says i dont have long in this world, he gives me 5mins at best with out eye infinty. He tells me i must win to save my battlefield bad company 2 soldier's life from death by back shots and snipers. With out the amazing performance of the 5870 i will be die and must wait 10secs to respawn.

As well the 5870 can help me with my computer design home work and studies for college while i play battlefield on the other monitors.

I think it's almost over too,......until the next one starts. And there is gonna be another, and sooner than you think. (i think)

Good luck to everyone, I've seen some damn fine entries this time. Whomever pulls this off is gonna deserve it because the competition has been good.

Realneil, i belive the next contest will be posted up as soon as this one ends :P lol, Marco already has it all planned out :), its going to be a full system with a unlocked CPU (JUST A GUESS! With a little proof to back it up :P!)

I don't know any particulars, but I'm beginning to count on a cool contest happening here.

It's like my little brother Eddie, you never know what he'll say next, but you know he's gonna say it. (at the perfect moment to do the most damage) He's the ultimate smart-ass. He can walk into a crowd of people who hate him and have them laughing their butts off in five minutes. It's uncanny.

I didn't get coolice's post either, but I assumed that we weren't supposed to. Maybe there's more to it coming in another post?

There's probably not much hyping needed at this point.

I build systems at NewEgg all of the time. Sometimes several in a day. I have 30 or more wish lists now and hate the fact that combo's won't go in to them.

How Can Eyefinity Change My Life?

Well first off all let my begin by saying I'm on a fixed budget so I don't get the chance to upgrade as often as I would like to.  I currently use an aging 8800GT with an older 22" Dell monitor so an upgrade like this would be huge for me. I would need to reconfigure my desk to accommodate three new monitors, but the reward of playing games with Eyefinity would be well worth it.

I am an owner of an Nvidia 3D Vision kit and that means that I am limited to using (as well as future upgrading to) only an Nvidia Graphics card. Also, I am limited to a 1680x1050 resolution display as that is the maximum resolution the Samsung 120Hz monitors can do. While using it in 3D mode, my frames-per-second are limited to more than half of what they actually are to produce the illusion of depth. While wearing the 3D glasses the brightness level on the screen is also halved because of the tint from the active LCD shutter. The selection of games I can play have shrunk to what only has the "the way its meant to be played" logo to increase the chances of 3D working (about 10 of those titles are 3D-ready, the rest have stereoscopic ghosting problems).

Yes, I had looked towards Nvidia and their 3D effect to give me a deeper appreciation of gaming but I have increasingly found that it is doing the exact opposite of what I hoped it would do. My vision has become limited not only in terms of luminance, resolution, frames-per-second and game selection, but also pigeon-holed me to an nvidia-centric tech lifestyle. There are no other words for it, I have become a slave.

How can Eyefinity Change my life? Will it give me a wider perception of the gaming world? Will it give me the freedom to choose any game to play without hardware restrictions? Will it allow me to see a deeper gaming world in full colour once again, unmarred by dark tints of flickering 3D lenses? More importantly, Will it set me free?

Eyeinfinity can change my life. Better Multitasking, and a better PC gaming experience. As i write my essay for school, i i see my friends statuses on facebook at the same time. I click on the link to find out more. Then, I go on to youtube. I watch a video AND do my essay at the same time. Easy multitasking! Few hours later, My friend comes over to play a new racing game on the PC. He starts up thet game. With 3 moniters, he has full peripheral vision. On thet lft, he can see everything, on the right he can see the full right side of the driver, and in the middle he can see the center. The race starts. He looks on the right. There is a driver speeding up. Thanks to the eyeinfinity's right moniter, he easily thwarts the other driver from cutting his race car. On the left side of his moniter, seconds later, he sees another driver trying to cut him off. Again, he easily stops thte other racer. All at the same time looking at thte center of the road. Minutes later, he ends up 1st. He raced like a pro because he has the upper hand in racing games, because he has full 180 degree vision of the driver's seat in racing games, thanks to thte Eye Infinity!

Intro:

I've been gaming since I was 5 yrs old, (now 36), My mom couldn't afford a babysitter while I was younger so she'd take me to work (Gino's Pizza Parlor) and let me play PacMan and MS Pacman while

she did her shift. When I was 7-8 years old, when she wasn't working I'd walk a mile or two (could have been 1,but sure seems like a distance back then) down to the local arcade and spend a few dollars on the game of the week trying to achieve the High Scores so I could win 200 tokens to play the next week game competition, loved playing donkey kong, tempest ans o many others, I often did get the highscore for the week, which was great as my mom and I really didn't have any extra money to spend, even one thanksgiving eating Turkey TV dinners because she had just broke up with her boyfriend, and we had to pay rent for renting a room from someone she knew. I got play a bot of atari on friends systems but at this point

we had just moved again and a game system was really affordable, however my dad did get me the mini arcade machines for frogger and pacman and handheld football games.

When I got older to middle school I got a paper route to afford a sega master system and Nintendo hooked on a A/B switch so I could alternate between games like altered beast and Super mario brothers and yes I did play paperboy as well lol

When I entered highschool my friends all had commodore, I asked my mother for one for christmas and I got a Tandy Trs-80 w/ cassette deck (radio shack brand) to play text based games like zork. I finally got my own PC as a gift from my dad when I graduated High school, it had an Asus motherboard and thats where I learned about computer from, taking it apart, upgrading and programming even. i've been gaming on PC ever since, playing games like Battlefield 1943, even wrting code for many famous mods such as map conversions for Desert Combat, Putting together the Millineum Falcon & Tie Bomber for Galactic Conquest, and even coding and beta testing for the GI Joe mod!. I was in a competitive clan in 2001-2003

taking 2nd and 3rd place in TWL (Team Warfare League) in Desert Combat and was one of the best ranked helicopter pilots and ground pounders in the game.

I love computer gaming and the 3 Asus Monitors + 5870 would make an ideal dream system for me (and any gamer out there!!)

How Can Eyefinity Change My Life?

I'd use it to get healthier! How you ask?

Less stress! Lower blood pressure, and more overall Zen! (With the SSD & Intels I875k processor (not to mention the host of other top products especially the motherboard & memory) )

-No more starting a round in Battlefield Bad company 2, only to find out the enemy has loaded in faster and has already came to your main and stolen your one piece of armor on the map, so that you get spawn camped for the entire round.

-No more overall tantrums / fits of rage quitting, when you get repeatedly killed by people you haven't even seen come around the corner when you were watching that corner the whole time, those extra 40-100 frames per second could mean the difference between life and death, and who likes to die over and over again, especially from some player named Barney The Purple Dinosaur!

I've been looking at getting back into professional gaming, going to every lan event I can & competing in the top tournaments, but just haven't had the money or the system to actually go become a pro gamer.

So I'd definitely go Pro, Join a top competing clan such as Dynamic, Complexity, or NET, and I'd endorse Hothardware & Asus at every event,

even coming up with my own Tshirt or Republic of Gamers costume to show my appreciation and wear while terrorizing gamers with my awesome setup,

not to mention the number of people who stop by my lan seat just to see what real gaming is suppose to look like!

Thanks for the chance to win, and so much for your time and consideration!!

If you pick me I guarantee I'd be a Hothardware fan and supporter for life!!

Have been waiting for something like this for ages.

I can now toss away the glasses as I can view newspapers in extra large font (from Pressdisplay) on the screen, from all over the world.

These can be viewed full size at a comfortable distance with a specially designed desk (that has lowered space clear in front of viewer).

I can now view architectural and structural drawing from scanned archives (full size (A0) and zoom in to details without taking out magnifying glass.

Much less expensive than 50 inch Mitsubishi (3840 X 2400) display at US$20K, and more versatile, as with a varied angle pivoting monitor stand, you can quickly change configuration for different work tasks.

Now here's an idea, a computer controlled robotic arm on a pedestal that remembers configurations, that can be changed at the click of a button, and adjusts monitor configurations in seconds with exactitude.

This can really be a total entertainment system (once bezel-less monitors become available).

In the meantime, you can watch High definition video with the bezel having little effect with a software tweak that I am sure ATI can accommodate, where it slowly moves the image (like the slight movements of TV show camera shots, which if you notice are never absolutely still) thus whats behind the bezel becomes visible in less than a second.

The bezels merely become a frame from which you view the picture.

Obviously for all serious work, this doesn't matter so much, become the mind can easily decipher the data (words, and lines).

I am in for at least one of these cards, and they are so affordable I will also get one for home.

How Eyefinity Might Change the Course of Human History

Those who refuse to learn from history
are said to be doomed to repeat it.
So without yet owning Eyefinity,
the past might give clues to why I need it.

Columbus set sail for distant lands
intent to prove that the world is round.
But if he had Eyefinity on hand,
Seeing the curve would prove his theory sound.

In what would become known as his last stand
Custer attacked with a foolhardy charge.
But if he had Eyefinity on hand
He would have seen the looming threat too large.

Bush read a report that Iraq had planned
to obtain weapons to use for terror.
But if he had Eyefinity on hand,
He would have seen that he was in error.

BP's CEO when taking the stand
Claimed "a small spill in a very big ocean".
But if he had Eyefinity on hand,
He might have put better plans in motion.

From this quick delve into history,
We've seen blunder from misguided decision --
Avoidable if they had Eyefinity
and with it the wisdom of clearer vision.

And I, myself, can now understand
having just gone through this exercise,
That having Eyefinity on hand
would have made it easier on my eyes!

This one was my favorite, but even if he'd had Eyefinity, he never would have been able to find all of those buttons that turn on three screens,.....so it would have happened anyway.

OK, We can all Blame Bush when we don't win this Eyefinity system :P

I know personally, how having a southern accent can make people use you as a political punching bag.
"Bush read a report that Iraq had planned

But if he had Eyefinity on hand,
He would have seen that he was in error."
I guess they forget the video of the UN inspectors getting held while they moved trucks out the back, Or March of 1988!?
They are only lying when they are not the ones you support?
I guess it depends on what your definition of IS...IS!
jturnbull65 4 years ago

Hi AnimatorTom,

I had a moment of pause on incorporating the Bush one for fear of ruffling political feathers, but in the end I decided that everyone -- regardless of party alignment -- should see the humor in the situation that I presented: overlooking one word might spurn an entire chain of events, and that Eyefinity would have prevented it.

Regards!

animatortom 4 years ago
Thats cool!

We all try to be Un-Biased around here :)

I know realNeil saw the humor in it. I was just responding on behalf of southerners. I was just trying to illustrate the humor of politicians telling us the truth.

As a History Buff, We could have talked about how it wasn't Custer's fault, he just jumped orders only to become the patsy? or how Columbus wasn't the first to reach the Americas? Or how Hayward cant go down and suck it up with a straw, but its all his fault.

So all in good fun. We are all about tech here :) I have found that most of us have a good understanding of world history and how it has lead to the development of our technological advancements.

You gave a good submission, so stay hopeful. Hot Hardware has some really cool giveaways. So stick around and set this as your homepage :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halabja_poison_gas_attack
The only problem with quoting Wikipedia articles as fact, is that anyone can log in and change the data around to suit their point of view. You have to take their data with a grain of salt.

My wife disallows Wikipedia as a reference source when students submit term papers to her for grading for that reason.

I understand the the events you refer to happened, at least I believe it's true because the Iraqi regime at that time was brutal. They were murdering bastards.

Every single news service in the world carried stories of this and other atrocities carried out by Saddam and Chemical Ali who was finally hanged for his crimes not too long ago.

Bush was a political punching bag because he was lame. It had nothing to do with his accent.

animatortom 4 years ago
OK Neil,

What politician isn't lame? Its easy to create a punching bag when they don't respond because they are doing their job. Like the old saying says.

When all is going right...No one notices. When one thing goes wrong everyone knows about it!

I get my history from all sources and do my research, Video dont lie. When I hear about this WMD stuff it always reminds me of the videos I have seen in the past. I remembered seeing the videos on the news and later on history channel. I just pulled the Wiki for an info intro:)

Remember History is written by the victors! That is why Vietnam is only taught for thirty minutes in our schools. Sorry dad?

We might have to move this to general discussions :P
realneil 4 years ago

"What politician isn't lame?"  They're all lame.

"Its easy to create a punching bag" It was unbelievable easy with Bush. It's getting to be a cakewalk with Obama too. Too many broken promises,...

"When one thing goes wrong everyone knows about it!"  When anything goes wrong in any way, the press is on it like stink on a dog turd. They're picking the fly crap out of everyone's pepper daily and it will never stop. It's our wonderful new age of communication and 'open mics'.

I didn't say that I don't believe what you said, I just called that source as possibly bogus. My wife had a student a few years ago who changed George's birthday by one day in Wikipedia right in front of her eyes,....... just to prove to her that he could do it.

It stayed that way for three days before someone changed it back. Anyone reading about our illustrious Prez on those three days had the wrong information.

"History is written by the victors!"  Yeah, you should see how it's written in Vietnam.

Please READ THIS either before or After you watch these videos

Please watch the teaser trailer first, its the prelude to this video:

Heres the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugq8rBLYDAQ

Main Video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHPzZM8HGSo

This is a video and a story. The reason I did a video and story is because so far all the stories are written, and all the videos are descriptions. I tried to implement the best of both worlds.

This video is a visual representation of how the world changed when Eyefinity arrived. The story goes something like this: on a normal day, something crazy arrives (first video), we're clouded in mystery and dont know whats happening. Thats the atmosphere i was trying to achieve with the first video.

The second video (this one), provides a glimpse to the viewers of how exactly Eyefinity is changing my life and the world around me.

Just to make a few concepts clear... when I mention ATI as Atomic Transfer Interface: It simply means that ATI is pathway that allows a connection between many mediums. Had ATI not created the platform for this technology, I wouldnt have been making this video.

Also, i mention here and there that the ability to have 3 or more " subconscious's " is driven by AssumedSubconsciousUtilitySharing or ASUS. These are just made up acronyms to enhance the story and encourage creativity.

This video is just a visual representation of three monitors. The three clones I've made, as i mention early in the video are not clones. What i mean by this is.. for example, if three monitors are used, all three monitors are not showing the same thing, each is doing whatever the user desires. Because there are different things going on in each monitor, it increases overall productivity as the user multi-tasks. Hence i show three people performs various tasks at the same time, and because they share the same conscious, its like having one person do all those things at the same time... or multitasking.

The middle portion where I've added the footage of the various games is just describing how the user, after the "phenomenon" Eyefinity is able to see things. Since the user has a much wider approach to tasks, he/she is able to complete tasks with added ease.

Finally the last portion, there are 3 kids playing a game. The concept i am trying to demonstrate is that those 3 kids are the same, not clones or twins. Its as if they share the same brain, and all three work in unison etc. This is to represent, that after Eyefinity was introduced, 3 monitors or more could be used to play games, get entertained or work.

A short while later I show that while in the middle of the game, each kid does his own little charade. One talks on the phone and replies back his email, the other listens to music and the third watches a movie. This can be related to using 3 monitors for various applications. As one monitor can be used to game with, the others can be used to do something else (that is: watch a movie, listen to music and complete work). Multitasking on a whole new level.

I would like to thank the members of Hot Hardware presenting me with the opportunity to learn Sony Vegas. Had this competition not been created, i would have never bothered learning something as complex as this.

I would also like to thank the sponsors, AMD, ATI and Asus (Tripple A ehh... save drivers and computer enthusiasts)

PS This is my first time doing anything like this. I starting making these videos a week ago. I know the graphics arent the best. Also, i want to apologize as this video is not in HD... you may watch it at 480p. The reason for this is because i dont own a camcorder. I used my 8mp Sony camera and strategically placed 2 mic's to capture sounds.

A LOT OF TIME went into the production of this video... and it was all worth it. Feel free to leave comments on youtube and there. Please dont request for tutorials, although i'll answer questions to the best of my ability... i learnt the basics of Sony Vegas from scratch by doing lots of research, reading, watching videos and experimenting, you can do the same =)

Also, thank you Ryerson University for providing my older brother with the software needed to complete this project.

Hi :)

How would Eyefinity change my life?

Efficiency of course! It's all about efficiency! Nothing would justify having +2 screens if it wasn't for making your life easier and more convenient. For example, school and work.. how awesome is it that you have one screen for Excel, other screen for online book/assignments, and third one for youtube and entertainment sorts? It's brilliant! Oh, and gaming? Imagine the depth of content you'll be able to see! I love First Person Shooting games and having +2 screens mean I can let the game content come to live in my tiny room! With a [super]wider viewing angle Eyefinity brings advantages.. it's the future of gaming revolution. Period.

And what would I do if I had it right now?

First, it'll replace my centrino duo laptop with integrated graphics. I can't even watch HD on youtube or play any games! Definitely switching this to Linux if I win.

Second, save up enough money to buy necessary parts to build a computer to run ATI 5000 series graphic card, oh yeah~

Lastly, do all the things I've always wanted to do like video & sound editing, use it to further tap into my creative side, and play awesome games of course!

Thank you for the chance :)

Hi, here is my entry to “How Can Eyefinity Change Your Life?”

Initially to me, Eyefinity seems to be like the introduction of widescreen formats to replace those standard 4:3. I remember in those days I was a vivid Counter Strike player. As I was still stuck with a standard CRT, I find myself getting killed from nowhere quite often. And to my horror to actually find out that they are just slightly over the edge of the screen. There are also cases where I sneaked upon them for a knife kill from what I assumed to be a blind spot, which turned out to be an utter epic failure. And ever since then, for competitive reasons and jealousy, I’ve yearned for a new screen… more strongly so for an LCD.

My first widescreen came to me as I graduated from high school. My mum bought me a Dell Inspiron, which for your information, is really obsolete today. However I’m still stuck to it because of emotional values and personal budget problems. Anyways, widescreen brought a whole new dimension to me in terms of gaming and productivity. With those extra pixels on the sides, viewing angle increases, and I’m ready to pawn more people! Throughout then, I’ve met people who actually claimed that I use aimbots and what not because I’m not supposed to be able to see them! Now I wonder why I did not have this line of thought prior to this.

The ATI Eyefinity is the dawn of a whole new era to monitors. Although there are already solutions to multiple monitors; they are neither flexible nor consistent. And it’s usually restricted to just 2 screens, which is my crippled setup now (My primary display being 1680 by 1050 and a Samsung TV, 1360 by 768). It doesn’t please me that much for obvious reasons, but I’m still grateful due to the extra space. With this setup, I find that my efficiency increases a lot when I do my assignments and finish reports from university. And with Eyefinity, I’m very sure that I will be once again taken to a whole new level of viewing, with more ability to multitask between my work and hobbies.

It’s very sad to see that my days of gaming are over since the day I upgraded to Windows 7, not being able to find a suitable driver for my graphic card. So when I saw this competition with just an hour to expiry, my hopes to get back to the scene rises! I then decided to give it a shot!

I hope you guys won’t consider this hassle to read and thank you very much if you have done so!

He's right. Mostly the field of view that our eyes can see are 100 degrees at least that's what I think. Personally with the 3 monitors covering your entire perspective. It gives you an immersive gaming experience (the realism depends on the graphics, sound and gameplay), also with the 3 monitors is the fact that you can do anything since it gives you loads of real estate and if you're the kind of guy who's doing something or wants to do something that takes more then 1 screen then this is for you. The graphics card also has uses for movie editing and 3D modeling BTW.

HuskyPkTeam 4 years ago

You're totally right!

In most FPS games, if you somehow increase the horizontal FOV it's considered cheating.

But racing games... oh yea, i'd love to see that

AKwyn 4 years ago

Okay. Kinda late in the contest but here's my fourth entry. Here's what my desktop would look like if I had eyefinity.

Okay, some of the apps aren't on there such as movie editing software and audio editing software but the concept is still there, plus coupled with the power of the Radeon HD 5850; I can truly do anything.

realneil 4 years ago

I thought that they shut this contest down last night at midnight?

(no more entries folks) That's what it says on page one of this thread anyway.

Now we wait, and they'll announce the winner sometime between now and Wednesday at midnight.

Again, let me say good luck to everyone. This has been one of the more interesting contests that they've had here. (if not a little emotional at times) Super Angry

But my point is that there have been quit a few interesting and creative submissions. HotHardware has their work cut out for them this time deciding who gets these prizes. Smile

Inspector 4 years ago

Bet they already have a winner :P, just waiting for the last day and midnight like every other contest/sweepstakes ... lol

Best of luck to all!

So some questions for someone who may have had a chance to play with a 3 screen setup:

How does Unreal Tournament III look on this setup?

And Crysis?

Quake games?

I know that most of these are not real system intensive titles, but how will they look, feel, and play?

Just wondering,....

Some really great entries here.

@realneil I hooked my monitor up to my girlfriends pc(she has a 5850), and played some games to record for the vid. I missed out on the eyefinity experience, because I only had two monitors, and my crosshair was right in between them. Needles to say, the visuals were stunning. I can only imagine playing with three!

good luck everyone!

coolice 4 years ago

Hmm... I hope my entry got ppl thinking a bit, because thats what i wanted to convey... a confused hardcore story so viewers thiink... Damn coolice's submission didnt make sense/ sucked etc.

I just wanted to thank the positive criticism I received from Taylor... i'll try my best not to do those mistakes again and try to make future submissions rich.

I'll be honest... i've just recently started to divulge into computers... never bothered much before. Hence i usually dont post comments etc, and i usually never become a member of a website. Mainly because most of the questions and confusion i have deal with stuff i dont own (computer hardware etc) hence, i dont bother. If you're going to look into my history of using this website and how many posts i've made etc, dont bother... all my posts so far have been on this thread. Will i leave this website and never revisit again?? Out of the question... dont even ask me that, or imply it in anyway. I'm here to stick around and read... posting comments for me comes secondary because writing crap like "ohh thats soo cool, i wonder ____________" to me isnt productive.

Another thing, I'm not going to rant about how crappy my setup is etc (though it is) and how i need to win. i dont need anybody's pity. I saw what other people posted and just tried to up the ante, to spruce up the competition. Also, I wanted to take this opportunity to teach myself more about the technology involved and to personally learn some applications i see people use on youtube... and this competition was my motivation to stay up at wee hours of the night while going to school etc.

I just want to wish all the contestants GOOD LUCK!!!! Ohh and i personally love Animatortom's render (all of them... i want to learn how you did all that) and the Video submitted by Marius Malek! And finally the healthy criticism by TaylorKarras

Cheers from the Great White North

Heh... you should say "Remember to stick around whether or not you win the big prize." It's hardly a foregone conclusion :P

But I definitely intend to include HotHardware among the tech websites I visit. In my short time visiting, I've already found more interesting and unique content than the same regurgitated material on some other sites that shall remain nameless.

Thanks for the kind words, Jturn.  Smile  And we'd love to make that a prerequisite for all contests but in the end, we hope folks will just stick around for the same reasons or similar to those you described here.

Most news sites always regurgitate from one another, and it always comes back to the source. But the most interesting stuff you should be looking for are the reviews, guides and how-to's. those always have unique content no matter what. Anyways, hope you stick around and actually post.

Also sorry to be rude but some criticisms about your entry. I like the effort put into it but this would never fly in real life. If Columbus actually had eyefinity and presented that as evidence that the world was round, then the people would laugh his ass off and the world would remain flat until someone had actually traveled around the earth unintended.

Each human has the same POV as eyefinity would have. I don't know how eyefinity could of helped George Armstrong Custer unless he invented the security camera and hooked them up to his eyefinity system.

I don't agree but it's a funny joke. George W. Bush can't read at all, even with Eyefinity.

Lastly. I don't think eyefinity would help BP in anyway, BP I think has 1 or 2 monitors per PC. He could of seen that oil leak even without eyefinity but then again, how will their corporate image go once they discover that they made an even bigger oil spill. Oh wait, it already happened, their image is suffering.

It's a good effort but I guess it's not for me. Also if you win this setup, I recommend you stretch Photoshop across the left screen and leave a web browser on the right. It should make more use of the Eyefinity setup then a Web Browser on the left, Photoshop in the Center and another Web Browser on the right.

jturnbull65 4 years ago

Hi Taylor,

Right, I was speaking to the original content.  I don't think I mentioned news specifically.

I appreciate your criticisms and don't interpret it as rude.  Mostly, I interpret it as being very passionate about winning but be careful not to discredit others as it degrades the good spirit of the competition.

With respect to my entry, it was intended as satire and not to be taken literally.

Kind regards, jturnbull65

OK back to the schoolyard Indifferent

If either George Armstrong Custer (Or Buffalo Bill if you read the same history books as Taylor), Or Columbus had Eyefinity? Everyone around them would be saying "What the #$&* is that! Then would scream WITCH!!!

If George Walker Bush had Eyefinity, He would be saying "Hey that's amazn, howz it work...is it magic!" Then he would scream Witch!!

If Anthony Bryan Hayward saw Eyefinity, he would have seen the size of the spill. but then he would have said "That's amazing, can it display a picture of my yacht across all three screens?"

There are "Infinite Possibilities of Eyefinity That can change your Life".

This is only one of them.

A person wants to learn KungFu in very short period of time to participate in KungFu Competition.

But he would like to train with "6" Masters in that short period of time to unleash the Supreme Power inside him.

But It takes long time to train with each master by traveling long distances because here time is very precious.

He hear about the ATI Eyefinity Technology.

Then he bought two ASUS MATRIX HD 5870 ROG Edition with 6 Monitors.

He is Well trained and Won in that KungFu Competition.

After that He named the "6" Masters as "Eyefinity Masters"...........

Taylor,...........It's another good entry to the contest, even if it's a little late. Why are you picking everything that anyone else does apart? I'm not picking everybody elses apart. I'm just explaining that even though it's a fair entry. It's a GIF file which means it can switch to one image to another. I would of been more impressed if it was an animated gif with something that you might see from a movie but I'm impressed nonetheless.

While I'm impressed by the effort these guys put into it, don't some guys have criticisms of their own? I don't pick apart every entry, in fact I praised animatortom's picture for being the one that might possibly win. I didn't know that jturn's entry was saterical, I've tried to look but I think I just took it seriously. Let's just stop arguing over who's entries are better and just be proud for the winner when he's announced tomorrow.

realneil 4 years ago
I'm not picking everybody elses apart.
I disagree. Re-read all of your comments on this thread. Start from the beginning. Read them all. Ask yourself why the big Kahuna stepped in to warn you.

It really doesn't matter to me now. I think you get the idea I was trying to share with you. I'm not trying to be mean about it either.

We usually try to get along here.
Let's just stop arguing over who's entries are better
I haven't been arguing at all. I've not said anyone's entry was better or had anything bad to say about anything posted yet, or during any contest that they've had in the 14 months I've been around. I've only praised all of the entries and wished everyone the best of luck, pointing out that there is some stiff competition this time.

AKwyn 4 years ago

I reread through all of my posts on this thread and I've done the things you said to a very few amount of people. Let me explain.

1. I thought s13 was a fake, it wasn't about the entry, it was about impersonation. A lot of the stuff he said on his posts and emails sounded very suspicious, contradictory and fishy. I even went onto the IRC on his suggestion and I did not see him online, but I did get proof that our s13 is a fake as the real s13 doesn't play games anymore. I got an IRC log to prove it. NOTE: This was the reason why Dave warned me, because it was off topic.

2. The mention of being famous for having 6 plasma screens got me mad (though I don't know the reason for getting mad, but it was probably because giant screens had already been done before) but I calmed down realizing that there are no giant screens in Siberia, though I still wonder how he's going to manage the screen.

3. I did not realize the satirical value in jturn's image. I thought it was serious so I took it serious. Apparently I should of dug deeper to find the satirical value.

4. I don't know if this is on site but I just thought that the coolice's story tried to complicate eyefinity into something that it's not. We also have different beliefs over what Eyefinity could do, I'm leaning on organizing and productivity.

You make it seem like I'm trying to discredit everybody so I can win. I even gave a list of the best entries that might win, most of the entries here are essays. If animatortom's picture was an entry then it would of won the contest. I have my criticisms but I believe everybody should have a fair shot at winning this contest, my stories may not be great but at least I have the same chance at winning.

realneil 4 years ago

Yes, you have the same chances as anyone. That's the cool thing about it. A picture is as good as a story, is as good as a film clip. They were looking for  expressions of imagination and talent, and they got it too.

Good luck to you now, and to everyone else. There are a lot of cool submissions this time and the one how wins this will be deserving, because of all of the fine competition.

Glad for pissing you off. Welcome to The Internet.

There's 1 big screen in my town (250k people) and it was placed there for the match against Australia 1 week ago. Now that Serbia lost the match against Australia its going to be removed. You got me wrong about 'famous'.  Its more like being known by a lot of people for 1 thing. Not in the rich famous way. And the entire story is fictional and just shows how awesome Eyefinity can be and that it can be used in extraordinary ways. These giant screens take days to make and are extremely expensive and are low-res.

I'm not new to the internet BTW. I've been using it since I was about 7-8 years old, and under a different screenname. Just thought you should know that.

Also your story felt more like you stating what your dreams are then an actual story. While I'm amazed you provided an extraordinary example of what Eyefinity could do, I do not like your behaivor the least bit. Like I said, I don't comment on every entry they put up. In fact I even provided a list of who might be winners here. Can we just stop this before it gets out of control.

HuskyPkTeam 4 years ago

Just kidding man, i expected that sort of reactions. No one is new to the internet, but it is surprising how much weird stuff you can find here...

I have read lots of cool, creative stories, pictures and videos so far...

The results will be in soon! Man I can't wait!!!

AKwyn 4 years ago

Oh okay. Also I do think that it's possible that your dream could work, If you had a lot of money then you could buy 6 60" plasma TV's and then hook them up to your computer that has the special 6-port version. What I think the problem is that if you intend for it to have it running 24/7 then you'll need to hire someone to queue up videos and pictures and you'll need to get a better job that pays more if you have a bad job in order to help keep it working.

My version of Eyefinity is not that of a mystical item, Eyefinity allows you to see more and get more immersed in the game (realism depends on the graphics, gameplay and sound like I said), but it also allows you to get more productive and get more organized. I don't use the word multitasking because you have three monitors but you only have one mouse. This is the point I put out in each of my stories, you can be more organized and get more work done, and you can see more therefore giving you an immersive gaming experience and allowing you to kill unseen enemies if you can't manage playing on one screen. I hate that people tend to overcomplicate Eyefinity. It's nothing more then technology that allows you to use 3 screens with the full graphical power of the card. And the three screens thing ain't even new, I've seen Flight Simulator setups that have 3 screens before Eyefinity, all the Eyefinity does is accelerate it graphically so that it runs at 30FPS rather then 1-2 FPS, and that's a good thing because it makes surround gaming possible. Even NVIDIA's getting into the surround gaming business but with the added benefit of 3D.

Here's a catchphrase for Eyefinity, "Your eyes will be pleased."

Eyefinity is Eyefinity, Nothing More, Nothing Less.

realneil 4 years ago
you could buy 6 60" plasma TV's and then hook them up to your computer
So instead of a vertical line running down the center of the screen, it would be a Horizontal line running across from side to side.

It's clear you need nine 60" screens to make it all work properly.  and a better job, more cash, stronger walls to hang it all,....whew! I'm tired just thinking about it!

AKwyn 4 years ago

That may be possible but it'll require a second ATI video card and some of the widescreen content won't look as good.

HuskyPkTeam 4 years ago

Yeah, lines splitting content apart... that's always a problem. Except in racing games when it looks so PRO!!! Try telling that to dudes designing Eyefinity wallpapers. 3 HD TV's placed vertically and then side to side would give an aspect ratio of 27:16, something in between 16:10 and 16:9. So there you go, three big displays for 1-2k euros a piece, system with an evergreen card, and... and... who really cares?

The story is far from reality or anything i actually plan to do. I simply don't care. It's just a cool story bro.

Greetings from Serbia. Siberia is a bit too cold. Lions are carnivores.

AKwyn 4 years ago
The story is far from reality or anything i actually plan to do. I simply don't care. It's just a cool story bro.
That seemed more like an essay then a story. This is your post turned into what is considered a story.

Once upon a time there was a man from Siberia. He lived an average life despite the colder-then-hell conditions; he would go to eat breakfast, go to work and even get a coffee or two. It was all the same until one day, he looked out the window and saw all of the sad people on the populated sidewalk; they looked bored, tired, almost like zombies going about their average day. This made him think; "What can he do to make the people happy?" and he thought about it but then he realized that he had to do something today; he had been having problems with his computer, not having enough memory capacity; he could not do the stuff he wanted to do on the computer, like his work. So he went driving trying to find a local computer store and luckily he found one a few miles from where he leaves. Without thinking, he gets out of his car, walks up to the automated doors and enters the computer store. He had seen nothing like it, everything was white; but he did not care as he was only out for one thing, memory. He browsed through the stores isles, looking for something that resemebeled memory when suddenly something caught his eye; it was a box of sorts. So he got closer and looked at it and it had something he liked "Eyefinity 6-port edition." This gave him an idea, "What if I could buy this and 6 TV's and place them on my wall outside, then people would be entertained and their lives wouldn't be so dreary" he thought to himself so he picked up the graphics cards, got a guy to help pick flat-screen TV's that would be big and suitble and bought the memory he came here for.

He payed for them and he loaded the graphics cards into the trunk of his car, now the TV's were too big; what could he do to ensure that they would not fall and break and he got an idea. He got the bungee cords out of the car and he wrapped the TV's every  which way so they would not fall to their dooms. He then drove home and unpacked everything he bought from the computer store out of the car and he layed them down in the living room. With all the stuff bought, he then had a new issue, how was he going to mount the TV's on the wall and he looked everywhere but he could not find a mount that could hold all the TV's and he realized, he neaded to get one custom made. So he went to the nearest workshop and he chatted it up with the worksmen. "Hey, I got like 6 huge TV's, can you create a custom mount so I can hook them all up." and he said "That depends, do you have 2,500 euro." and that price made him think, he did not have that type of money but he so desperately wanted to entertain all the people on the street so he was able to barter for the frame but he would have to give up a valuable eirloum. A golden elephant that had been with the family for generations. Though he had deep thoughts about that elephant, he chose that the people on the streets are more important then one elephant so he drove home as quickly as he could, took the elephant and he drove back to the workshop and he gave the golden elephant to the clerk and he put on a smile. He told the guy that it would take a few weeks to make the frame and he grinned at the phrase but the guy did not care as however much time it took him to make the frame would equate to the happiness of the people on the sidewalk.

Weeks came and he was doing his usual routine until he heard his cellphone ring, it was the worksman at the workshop. "Hi, remember the frame you requested." said the workman and the guy said "yeah" positively and the worksman said "Well it's done, come by the shop to pick it up." and he said "Thank you." and there was a sight of happiness and excitement on his face. He got in the car, drove as fast as he could and he picked up the enormous stand. He took out the bungie cables from his car and he wrapped it all around the car, restraining the frame in place so that it would not fall off. He drove as quickly as he can home and he began to take the frame. He got himself a ladder and he lifted the heavy frame to the higest point of the wall. It was very heavy, he did not know if he was going to drop it but he held on as tightly as he could and he installed the frame. The people on the sidewalk became intriquied with the frame, they wonder what it was going to hold and what was going to be on there. The guy then went into the house and began installing the TV's one by one, the people became even more intriqued, they had rarely seen a video screen on a wall in Syberia; while it was common in places like Times Square, it was not here. He finished installing the TV screens and it looked magnificient, it was facing the sidewalk where people would look at it and some people stayed to see what the screen was for. Inside the house, the guy was worried about how he was going to get the TV's to play sound; the TV speakers were too weak for what he wanted then he remembered something. His dad had put some old speakers in the closet, ones that were big and ones that made a lot of noise so after some time digging in the closet, he had found the speakers and he had put them on the frame which luckily had a place to hold the speakers. After hooking up the TV and speakers to his computer, he turned it on and the people on the sidewalk could not believe their eyes, but what he played on the screen made the people on the sidewalk do something unexpected, they laughed. A funny video of a cat with a melon for a head played on the screen and it provided some much needed laughter to Siberia.

The guy saw that the people on the sidewalk were enjoing the stuff that he was playing so he quered up some funny videos and even some funny pictures but there were two issues that came to his mind. How could he manage a screen of this magnatude and how will he keep up the funny videos and funny pictures when he's not there. So he came up with a short term solution and he put a donation box below the screen and he got a friend to quere the funny videos when he was not there and for days on end, it provided the people of Siberia with laughter. Years later, the guy is on a Siberia local access talk show and he is talking to the host who is on the chair to the right; he looks calm and focused, even though everybody is watching this on TV and he is wearing slightly fancier clothes. The host begins to speak and he says "You entertain millions with your giant screen; even in this cold, brutal weather, you still find ways to make people laugh. Who do you want to thank for making this possible." the host said and the guy said "Well it was hard installing the frame, and it was hard trying to keep it going and I even had to lose something that belonged to my family but I thank all of this to ATI and their Eyefinity technology; without this, none of it would even be possible!" and the audience gave a standing ovation to the words that he just said for he has become famous. Not worldwide famous, just locally respected and praised famous.

The End.

I can't write an excellent story but I can sure as hell write a good one.

"I'm not new to the internet BTW. I've been using it since I was about 7-8 years old, and under a different screenname. Just thought you should know that."

Yeah Taylor...I was also using the internet ten years ago as well Geeked

And..Ten years before that?

And..ten years before that..although then we had to take our home phone and place it on top of a TRS-80 Micky Mouse Modem:p
If Y'all are so concerned with size? then after you go out and get your Cadillac Escalade with the 454, and over sized baggy cloths!

Then go get yourself an Eyefinity Card and three projectors. it would be cheaper and then you can project 900 inches across your wall without having to worry about the mounts and power needs or screen edges. Only then you would have to get a bigger house to handle twelve feet of images Confused

"Here's a catchphrase for Eyefinity, "Your eyes will be pleased."  Eyefinity is Eyefinity, Nothing More, Nothing Less."?

I cant tell Taylor, If you reeeally want this? Or if you really secretly dont?

"If you ain't pissing people off, you ain't doing it right." -?

"Tom:  I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for three 60" screens in my living room"

I'm not the one that was talking bout three sixties? I said three projectors. And that was only to answer these silly arguments about the TVs. Since they don't really sound like they would like three 23" monitors with Eyefinity, hopefully when they win it they can give it to us and still be excluded from the next awesome competition.

I don't think projectors are weak, all it takes is good darkening (aka nighttime) and bam, you got yourself a backyard movie theater.

And yes, I've actually seen these types of setup. I don't know why they sit around in the backyard to watch movies but they do.

It was 100 here today and the humadiddy was way up there too. Had to go somewhere this morning and was glad for the kick-ass A/C in my Tacoma. Almost hit a Deer, a Dog, and later on a Cat today. Two were really close calls. I drove home and left it parked for the remainder of the day.

There's a line of thunderstorms closing in on us right now, so we'll probably get soaked again. (four times already in the last week) At least they don't last for long.

I'm gonna set a movie up and check it out. Come back here and see if they posted a winner yet.

Tom:  I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for three 60" screens in my living room. Nope, that's not what I want at all .(I can see the wife drop kicking me around the room if I tried that Shtuff) I was just moving with the spirit of the conversation and that's all. You can keep the Escalade too.

TRS-80 Modems were a PITA @ 300 Baud. Think about all of the years it's taken us to get to where we're not yet.

Coolice: As far as the too late, but cool duplicate entry goes, it was the grand prize winner in the other contest mentioned. A guy from India won a complete Eyefinity setup for it. I doubt that he used it again here. Maybe you should have PM'd Marco And Dave about your suspicions if you think we shouldn't be talking about it.  I guess It doesn't matter anyway.

This is getting tedious. I'm off to watch a movie and get some sleep.

I dont want to start an all out feud, and i dont want to side with any particular members, but i guess everyones entitled to their own opinion.

Annd a bently without jeeves... ah come one, u need Jeeves haha. (okay i agree driving it yourself is more badass then having someone else do it for you)

realneil 4 years ago

Driving this car would be a pleasure. I have two friends in SoCal that own cars like these. I was lucky enough to get to drive them both. One of them for a weekend. There is no comparison, and nothing else like them. I think that they're worth the gigantic price that they ask for them.

As to the feud, there is no feud. No way,........I was just trying to point out that we have a usual standard of compatibility and friendliness here that most of us adhere to. (sometimes loosely) Very seldom does it spin out of control and get personal. Our moderators rarely feel that they have to step in and warn people about their posts, but Dave did just that, on this thread, recently.

When they announced this contest they didn't say we had to be perfect or factual with our entries. They just wanted stories, pictures, and film clips to evaluate themselves.

And they're the ones supposed to be judging this friendly competition.

I just want to keep it fun and far less serious.

Also Metmyworld... shame on you... Seeing that it did not say it had to be your own work but it did say this

"By submitting an entry you permit ASUS, HotHardware and AMD to use your entry in their own and other marketing materials and showcase your work freely."

Now seeing it is not your own work, i say you can't give Asus, Amd or HH permission to use if you win... so i would say your post should be disqualified...

Hi coolice,

I don't think you're being a douche at all. The entry instructions say to "create" something and as Inspector points out, the disclaimer to allow the sponsors to use "our work freely" also implies the ownership is ours to grant.

Not only do I think bringing this to the attention of Marco et al. is legitimate, but I think one should be compelled to do so. From there we'll leave it up to the judges to verify if a) original content is required, and b) if so, whether any winning submission is original.

And, as others mentioned, this entry was also two days beyond the deadline :P

coolice 4 years ago

Ahh, arrite, i just found the entry, and it was under another name. I didnt jump to a conclusion about it being copied by another user, i just wanted to point out that incase it has been copied, well, someone could look into it.

jturbull65:     I think that every entry is what it is, and nothing that I say about it, or anybody else for that matter, can help, or hurt it, as far as the judges are concerned.

I wrote a story the same day this contest started. I took me about an hour to do, and it was my best effort since I don't do graphics design or work extensively with 'Photoshop styled' programs. I can't produce movies here. I really don't want to either. I knew that when I wrote it, I didn't have much of a chance of winning anything this time around. That's alright with me though, I enjoyed writing it, and I enjoyed many of the entries as they were posted each day. Yeah, some of them sucked a little, but I like to think that I have more class than to try and break down the other guys efforts, so I didn't say that some of them sucked a little. The judges knew what they were looking for anyway. Their choices were spot-on, your entry was funny and all in good fun. (not meant to be technically correct in every way) I liked it and laughed out loud when I saw it.

Clemsnide is a master story teller (his entry proves just that) and as a matter of fact, as I remember, he dresses in period costume and 'plays the part' of famous people in early American history and tells their stories to people visiting his town. What a job! He has to know every little detail about who he's enacting and all about the world as it was when they lived. When people have questions for him, he answers 'in character', and stays in character all day long! This is no small feat in my book, and one day, I'd like to go see him perform.

I try not to take this stuff too seriously, and to just enjoy it as it progresses through to it's conclusion. Both of you deserved to win.

Congratulations!

Hi realneil,

To the judges' credit, I think that you did have a fair chance at winning by producing a written story.  An obvious testament to this is clemsnide winning with his creative story and the extra time it took to go through the submissions -- had they just gone through and watched the videos and looked at the pictures, it wouldn't have taken long to judge at all.

I agree with everything else you said so this isn't directed at you: if we all would like to continue seeing the great promotions put on by HotHardware, we need to keep them free of negativity.  The goal is to strengthen this community, not to tear it apart.
To the judges' credit, I think that you did have a fair chance at winning by producing a written story.
Please don't get me wrong here,.....I didn't say that I didn't have a FAIR CHANCE to win,....I just didn't think my submission was going to prevail. And it didn't. The judging here is totally fair and without reproach. They're intuitive and like to spread it around a little too. It's fair to all who enter.

The results are OK with me though. I could have written more stories, trying over and over to win by some kind of a deluge tactic, but I didn't want to.

And lastly,.........If you think about it, my cup already runs over.

I won the PC listed in my signature right here on HotHardware.com late last year. It's really, really nice to work with. Then, I won another gaming system from Intel three months later on!!

It's an i5-750 with a 1GB XFX Radeon HD5850, 8GB RAM, a 1TB-HDD, Blu-Ray, and all of the other goodies one needs to whack a game around all day. So I've already won an i7 and a i5 complete system, both with 22" flat panels, keyboards, and mice within the past year.

I'm happy as can be. and I'm happy for you two guys too.

jturnbull65 4 years ago

Hi realneil,

Ok, I get what you're saying now.  I just wanted to underscore that I didn't think any particular medium was considered more favorably than the other, or more specifically from your comment: that graphic design, photoshop, or movie production skill didn't trump writing skill.  Clemnside proved this with his well-written and intriguing story and I considered the poem of my entry to be as important as my images.

And wow, your cup does runneth over :P  That's quite a nice haul.

Regards, jturnbull65

jturnbull65 I'm surprised, I didn't think your entry would be the winning one. I did not get the humor in it at first and I couldn't see the satirical value from the surface but I think I do. My father is very avid on politics and history and I guess I just pick up my views from him. I see stuff more seriously then the other person so that's what I ment when I said "It's not for me.", but I did find Animatortom's witch spin-off funny. ClemSnide's story I did not get but it won second prize and I don't know, I guess I'll have to rethink the way I submit my entries.

It may not be true for the ones who just say that their computer 'is so old it's growing hair on it',..................

but for those who hang around and participate, this site is a good place to win stuff with better than average odds.

Hi Taylor,

Based on the selections, my guess is that the judges placed an emphasis on creativity and to that end, if an entry can distinguish itself as unique, it stands a better chance to be noticed in such light.

What you'll see common between Clemsnide's and my approach was that we explored what Eyefinity might accomplish beyond what we already know to be true about its benefit for gaming and productivity.  In Clemsnide's case, it was an intriguing story about technology of the past meeting technology of the present, and mystically sewing together the fabric of time so that kindred spirits could be united.  In my entry, it was the ridiculous suggestion that the greatest blunders of time could have been avoided with a solution as trivial as owning Eyefinity.

Are our suggestions outside the realm of the traditional application of Eyefinity?  Absolutely.  Are they ludicrous?  Probably.  Does that mean that we and the manufacturers won't wish or dream that Eyefinity transcends it's designated use?  Definitely not, and if the judging is any indication, it seems they very much like the thought that Eyefinity might be more than intended.  Much of what we find so important and effective today in computing is not serving its original purpose.

i am so sad i was tossing up which i should get a 23" full hd monitor or the HD5770 i went for the monitor. I got home and unboxed it and dropped it in the process and the screen broke. I started crying and got really angry and told myself to stuff computers. But i am a student going to school still and do website creating. i now have no computer to do my work on. Eyefinity will change my life by letting me get a start in life and creating a life changing program the runs eyefinty out of the box without having to install a driver. I will be committed to you guy to create this peace of software and be able to have a proper setup, more than a 15" crt monitor with a motherboard on board graphics card.

How Can Eyefinity Change Your Life.

it can change mine in alot of ways, when it comes to gaming or watchin a movie.

right now i have one of the 5770 video cards by Sapphire.

its a good card. but i want to upgrade to a 5970 2gb card.

But then again, any card will do. My mother board is the Asus Crosshair IV formula with a AMD phenom X6 1075T CPU, running 4gb of Corsair 1600 gaming memeory.

and using the Eyefinity set up, would be so ubber sweet. My friends would cry over if i was to win this set up.

Using the Eyefinity set up to me would be a huge plus, being how at this time i am only using one monitor. a 23" HP.

and its hard for me to see sometimes, when i am gaming of were the other team is coming from with Eyefinity, i would have a way better view of the playing field. and have the 5870 Video. well lets just say, it would eat my video card i have now for lunch and keep asking for more.

I would play better in on line games, with a better view of the field and i can see what i could not see before.

WERE THE BAD GUYS ARE, and what side they are coming from.

this would also be a big improvement for viewing my Blu Ray movies and surfing the web, i could use one monitor for surfing, one montior for have my win amp running on and then the last monitor for what every i wanted to throw up. like reading forums, from HOT hardware.com newegg.com or what ever else i was reading.

and not really have to worry about were the page went to.

it would be a big improvement in the way i see thing right now, with one monitor. that on its last leg.
