The 4K revolution is on, and not just in the HDTV
department. ASUS got things going with its 31.5" PQ321 Ultra HD monitor
, and now EIZO is stepping up to the plate with an equally impressive panel. While it's not boasting a 4K resolution, it does claim to be the world's first 240Hz gaming monitor.
If you're unfamiliar, 240Hz panels generally mask ghosting and flickering, particularly with fast-moving titles and high-action scenes. If you're an avid first-person shooter gamer, having a 240Hz display is a real boon.
The 23.5" panel sports a Full HD (1920x1080) resolution, 400 nits of brightness, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, and under 1ms response time. On the rear, there's a DisplayPort, DVI-D port, and an HDMI socket. There's no word on a price just yet, but those who crave a silky image might just spring for whatever premium EIZO places on it. (Psst... you aren't the only one wishing for a 30" version!)
