This fantastic tech and all, but is anybody REALLY going to wear these in public. I hate to sound like an old refusenik, but I feel like a hell of a lot of R&D money is going into something that will never really catch on. |

I happen to think many people will use and wear them, specifically when they are in unfamiliar locales and environments, or simply when they want a hands free way to share their experience with others: "DUDE! Check out the bod on that one!", "Hey, girlfriend, check these out! Yeah, and I got the last pair... ON SALE!". This is definitely only a stopgap until lenses, which will be a stopgap until implantable lenses, which will be a stopgap until implanted wireless audio/video direct-brain interfacing, which will be a stopgap until.... |
