HP Readies Launch of Ultra Thin 21.5-inch LED Monitor

Hewlett Packard reckons if you're a business user, your desk is probably cluttered enough as it is with TPS reports, stacks of papers, your custom name plate, pictures of the family, and whatever other knick nacks lay strewn about. Why add a bulky monitor to the mix?

To help make the most out of your desktop real estate, HP is getting ready to launch its Elite L2201x monitor, a 21.5-inch LED display that's described as an "ultra-modern, micro-thin business monitor." According to HP, this is the company's thinnest monitor to date measuring (with stand) 19.94 (W)  x 4.89 (D) x 14.22 (H) inches. Key specs include:
  • 1920x1080 screen resolution
  • 0.248mm display pixel
  • 250 cd/m2 brightness (typical)
  • 5000:1 contrast ratio (static)
  • 178 degrees horizontal; 178 degrees vertical viewing angle
  • 16ms response time
While the response time gives us the willies, business users might be more interested in the included DisplayPort as opposed to whether or not there will be any ghosting when trying to game.

"With a quick connection to a single DisplayPort input, you can instantly plug in to productivity when used as a second monitor," HP says. "With no extra cables to connect, the HP L2201x is the perfect complement to your mobile lifestyle."

HP didn't say how much the L2201x will cost or when it will ship, only that it's "coming soon!"
