Google Video Shutting Down Next Month
After April 29th, Google Video content will no longer be viewable, but the download feature will remain available for a few weeks in order to give users the ability to retrieve their uploaded work. We're guessing that most of those videos will be re-uploaded onto Google's YouTube service, which is apt to be around much, much longer than Google Video. Are you affected by the news? Has downloading and re-uploading suddenly become a top priority?

What I am wondering is why Google never just combined their Google Video service with YouTube. I see no reason why they would not be able to combine these services. |

There are lots of interesting videos on Google Video (some that cannot be found in Youtube) so it's a shame to see them go. |

google video just supply links, you can still get to those videos if you bookmark the original source. |

Well they're using the video's tab as a search engine for video sites (but not just YouTube). Anyway, it's sad to see an early experiment of video go away, man the obscure stuff you could of found, the full 30 Minutes of episodes you could of watched. |

they will prob fully discontinue the service as it would take to much effort to convert everything to youtube. |

I had all but forgotten about Google Video before I read this. Too bad Google can't automatically move stuff over to YouTube for the users who are affected by this. |
