They have a quote "nothing is specific to be announced at this time" so will have to wait and see.. Would be interesting to see how proprietary it may be,comsidering that quite a bit of developemnet may be coming from the open-source community.. |

Interesting premise, but if YouTube ads are form of prediction on how this will be monetized - I think most users would not be a fan. Over the last two years, we've witness the ads become more intrusive and detrimental to the overall watching experience. While services like Hulu and other services that let you watch tv online are more transparent with how they display ads to you. |

There's a plugin for that! (said in the tone of "There's an app for that") :P Seriously though, we never have to watch youtube or hulu ads here. YAY. |

I am with you on that BurgendyBlues... I hate intrusive ads especially when they are 10 times louder than the content you want to watch. Personally I am amazed that TV ads are even effective anymore since we see advertising in everything we do as humans (even games for the past few years). It will be very interesting to see how Google TV stacks up with this new acquisition. |

Hmmm... Interesting acquisition. I'm guessing Google is going to use the acquisition for it's interface, conversion tools, DVR features and maybe EPG (if they couldn't build their own). Either future Google TV units could come with DVR or Google will release it's own Google TV software for the PC. It could go either way. |
