Well at least one of our users will be really happy this app came out. I haven't been following much on the Facebook app but from what I've read in the article well, I'm glad that it came out finally. |
worked for a while, not it's a fail. doesn't want to open up. is it just me or did bookface app have bugs |
Maybe I'll try this out. (not) |
haha, I actually laughed out loud when I read @Taylor's comment. To be honest I thought they already had one, this will make a lot of people happy. |
this app isn't the greatest but it's not bad. I prefer "Friendly" for my facebook app since it is more customizable and makes it easy to switch between accts. I haven't spent too much time with the new official FB app but so far the layout is pretty good and I haven't had any issues with it yet. I'm going to use it a bit longer just to get used to it, then I'll decide which app I'll keep. Thanks for the heads up :) |

It doesn't matter if they have an App for Facebook. I tried to update my iPad to iOS-5 like iTunes said I could, and it failed during the upgrade. So now it's bricked. iOS-5 was a huge bust for me and I no longer have the use of a very expensive gizmo. Gee,.....thanks Apple,...... It pisses me off. |
Can you at least get it into DFU mode to restore it??? |
Don't know what that is,.....but it's not even recognized when it's plugged into any PC. It's stuck (no pun intended) in an infinite loop. |
Try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJkf8O8wOoU. See if restore mode will work first, if it does skip everything else and click "restore" in iTunes. If that doesn't work then try the DFU steps. Is there anything on your iPad screen right now?? You might already be stuck in one of the modes and just need to figure out how to get out of it. The video explains how to do that also. |
Thanks for the mention of DFU. Although DFU sounded a little kinky, I decided to do a search for it right after I read your last message. I found it explained on the web, and tried it out,.......and it worked. The iPad was connected to the PC with the brand new install of iTunes on it and (after a slow, but gentle ~DFU~ session) it restored the iPad to factory settings and it upgraded it to iOS-5 at the same time. Now I have it connected to the original PC and it's restoring all of my Apps and tweaks. So, thank you for your help Amanda. I'm in a much better mood than I was earlier! EDIT: the restore is done and everything's there and intact. |
YAY! I'm glad it worked... But mostly I'm glad I was able to help YOU with something for once heehee!!! :D |
Yes, you helped me.Again, Thank You,......
And ~I'm posting~ on HH with the iPad now too! So the iOS-5 did fix the posting problems like Dave said it would. Yep, I'm doing much better now. |
Right on! I just use the HTML to post from my iPad (like now). BTW, I have learned a long time ago, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" when it comes to idevices because chances are if something can go wrong, it WILL. Every time I've updated, unlocked or did a jailbreak on one something almost always sets me back further than I started. Even if everything goes smoothly, it's still the most time consuming process! Apple really needs to come out with a quicker, smoother updating process. Unless some absolute must have feature/fix comes out I won't be updating my iPad, it's Way too much of a PITA!! |
Just curious Neil, any other features/fixes that make it worth updating? I've been debating doing it but not sure if I want to go through the hassle. |

The browser is loads better. That alone is good enough for me because I missed having Tabbed browsing when I got this thing. There's a list somewhere of hundreds of things that they did to make it better. HERE OH, and of course, I think we now have JAVA support, 'cause all of that stuff works now. |
