EyeTV Add-on Brings Live TV To iOS Devices

Elgato and Dyle mobile TV announced the EyeTV Mobile accessory. This TV tuner for iOS devices brings live streaming TV to your iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone. The compact ATSC-Mobile tuner receives mobile TV signals from a miniature antenna, so you don't need an Internet connection or unlimited data plan to take advantage of free streaming TV. With the accessory, users can access live broadcast TV from Dyle partner stations as well as other stations that are broadcasting to mobile in a specific market.

The EyeTV Mobile accessory connects to iOS devices with 30-pin connectors (or via an adapter). The accessory works together with the free EyeTV Mobile app. Using the EyeTV Mobile app, you can pause and resume live TV and access a detailed program guide.

You can pick up an EyeTV Mobile accessory for about $100 from Elgato's online store, Amazon, and other retailers. Dyle mobile TV services are currently available without a subscription fee. Dyle TV is available from more than 90 stations in 35 markets, reaching approximately 55 percent of the U.S. population.

The EyeTV Mobile app requires iOS 5.1 (or newer), and the accessory works with the iPod Touch (4th generation), iPad, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation), iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S. It is also compatible with the newest iOS devices through adapters that connect the accessory, including the iPhone 5, iPod Touch (5th generation), iPad (4th generation), and iPad Mini.
