Steam's Epic Holiday Sale and Games Giveaway Starts Now
Let's back up a moment. Steam's annual Holiday Sale is going on right now, which means deep discounts on a variety of games. There are new deals posted every day through January 1st, such as 75 percent off Metro 2033 ($4.99) and 11 other titles, as well as various package deals. We're having trouble checking them all out because apparently Steam's getting hammered pretty hard right now.
Coinciding with the Holiday Sale is Steam's Epic Holiday Giveaway. Every day through January 1st, Steam will list a set of six objectives on its Great Gift Pile page. For each one you complete, you'll either get a free gift or a lump of coal, the latter of which you can trade in (seven pieces of coal can be traded in for a gift from Steam's Great Gift Pile) or save up and use as an entry into Steam's giveaway (each lump of coal gets you one entry). It's hokey, but the discounts and giveaways are not. Check this out:
- Grand Prize (1 winner): Every single game on Steam
- First Prize (50 winners): Top 10 items on wishlist
- Second Prixe (100 winners): Top 5 items on wishlist
- Third Prize (1,000 winners): Valve Complete Pack
The Grand Prize is insane and is sure to brighten someone's holiday, possibly yours.

... Every game on Steam? Holy carp. I would say 'pick me', but unless that prize also comes with free time, 90% of those games will remain untouched for a very long time. Still, pick me! :D |

How would one store every single game on Steam? How long would that download take? Who has the storage for such a prize? The logistics would be frightening.

you dont have to download and install everygame. you just get a license to every game and can download at anytime. |

I'm guessing the games will be available to download at anytime; you can't possibly imagine them forcing you to download every game to your hard drive would you? Anyway, there are a ton of good deals (more so then ever, usually Steam does $5 mostly every other day of the week.) and even though I don't feel like buying or entering the contest; it's impressive what Steam is doing, even more so when it comes to the contest; who's grand prize is sure to make one person feel very, very happy. |

Well someone is going to turn their coal into diamonds :) all it takes is enough pressure. And Talk about a great way to make a ton of money. You have to own a pile of games to complete the objectives ranging from 2.50 to 5 dollars in price and I am sure a pile of people will be buying these games. |
