New tablets? Naturally. These things are flowing like wine at an afterparty these days, and now even a company by the name of eFun is jumping in on the... fun. The company has just announced their new $300 Nextbook Premium 8 Android-based tablet, which -- perhaps not surprisingly -- looks a lot like most every other Android tablet coming out these days. It's black, sleek, and has a rather large bezel. Other specs include Android 2.3, an 8" TFT display (capacitive multi-touch), built-in Wi-Fi, an e-reader, Kobo book store, Slide application manager, OfficeSuit Viewer and built-in ASTRO File Manager.
Powering the device is a Rockchip RK2918 CPU, and there's also 4GB of built-in flash memory, a microSD card slot, mini-USB port, built-in speakers, a 4-way G-sensor, support for 1080p videos and a four-button touch menu. There's also a notepad, calendar, alarm clock and assorted games. It'll ship on October 7 for $299, but is that price too high now that Amazon has laid down the hammer with their $199 Fire? Sure feels like it.
