Dell's Got Inspiron 1525s In Eight Awful Colors
Starting today, American customers can buy Dell's new Inspiron 1525s. Lighter and thinner than their predecessor 1520s, they're available in eight colors with four optional design patterns, too. So you can customize them enough to answer the question: Which hideous looking laptop is yours?
Like its predecessor, it features all kinds of connectivity options, including mobile broadband, 802.11a/g/n, and Bluetooth. It also features capacitive touch multimedia controls, integrated 1394, plus options like the integrated 2 megapixel webcam and the Dell Travel Remote. Through Dell MediaDirect with Instant Office you have quick access to information like digital music, photos and meeting and contact information without having to boot up the operating system.
The Inspiron 1525 is also our first system to feature built-in Wireless USB. This new technology accesses an external hub that acts as centralized area for any USB-connected devices or accessories like MP3 players, digital cameras, etc.
Competitive price points, too. Just $499 for the Intel Celeron 540 equipped model. Another version with a Dual Core Pentium and a GB of memory might be a better value at $599. All have a 15.4" displays, SATA hard drives between 80 and 160 GB, and MS Vista for an OS. Microsoft Works 8 is the pre-installed Office Suite. That means no MS Word. I need that more than I need a Flamingo Pink case. A lot more.
