DROID Family Expands With Two New Tablets

Verizon Wireless customers have a pair of new 4G DROID tablets to choose from, the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and the DROID XYBOARD 8.2.

The tablets will run Android 3.2 Honeycomb, although the press release says that they “will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich”. They’ll feature 1.2GHz processors, 1GB of RAM, and MotoCast, which allows for remote access to media stored on your computers, as well as 5MP rear-facing and 1.3MP front-facing HD cameras.

Both the XYBOARD 10.1 and 8.2 are designed to be business-ready, so customers may have an easier time convincing their IT department heads to let them use the tablets for work.

The XYBOARD 10.1 will come in 16GB ($529.99), 32GB 9$629.99), and 64GB ($729.99) versions, and you can get a XYBOARD 8.2 in 16GB ($429.99) or 32GB ($529.99) configurations. These are on-contract prices, folks.

Included in the release announcing the tablets is a mention that the DROID RAZR will now be available in white, if that’s a thing you’re into.
