I hope Widi has gotten better then it was a few years ago. When I worked at Bestbuy we always had problems getting it to work well. Also the range on it was quite dismal |

Wireless is cool if you need it but a simple HDMI cable will do the trick I believe. Still wouldn't have figured, back in the past, that you would be streaming 1080P picture wirelessly. Makes you excited about the future. |

It's not a matter of need as much as simple convenience. Since a cable has limited length, hard to keep out of the way, and you have to go through the trouble of connecting and disconnecting as needed. Versus a always available wireless connection that once set up only needs to be activated and deactivated as needed. Though there are other competing wireless streaming technology besides WiDi that may be more promising and some don't require proprietary technology like WiDi. Something that people who don't want to be limited in choices on their WiFi cards may prefer for example. |

WiDi has been improved to the point that it can support 1080p but performance depends on the system. Like the upcoming Cedar Trail netbooks will also support WiDi but only up to 600p. |

Pretty sweet. but i have my phone to do that but its nice for a laptop and probably has bettering output since it has a much more powerful processor |
