I already upgraded to PD9U64 and have found that the AVI format isn't accepting any codecs. See my "No Compressor? No comprendo!" thread in the Cyberlink forums. In PD7 I used Xvid extensively to produce beautiful video indistinguishable from the original raw footage at 1/4 the size or even smaller. If you do anything such as fansubbing or archiving, keep an eye on PD9 but you might hold off on upgrading just yet. Also, it locks up when selecting certain export formats, and has even crashed my computer when trying to make an MPEG-4 video. I don't think PD9 is out of the bug stage, yet. And it is definitely exhibiting PowerDirector's traditionally squirrely behavior. But, if they can fix this inability to take on external codecs, I will love it like the 64-bit maniacal speed demon that it may become.
