Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Coming In Early 2012

The long-running and immensely popular Counter-Strike series is getting another sequel in early 2012 with the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or “CS:GO” for those in the know. The sequel will be available on Steam (for both Macs and PCs), as well as the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

CS:GO will feature updates of past content, but also new maps, characters, weapons, gameplay modes, matchmaking, leaders boards, and “more”, according to the press release.

For this release, Valve is teaming up with Hidden Path Entertainment. Those chomping at the bit for a preview of the game can check it out yet this year at PAX Prime or the Eurogamer Expo 2011.

CS:GO? I don't know why they just don't introduce a massive update to CS:S? Well I mean sure the people playing CS:S will be pissed off but it seems like the most likely situation right?

If it isn't like that then it has to be different from Counter-Strike: Source to earn it's sequel status? Still, I'm going to wait until I see some gameplay vids and screenshots to make up my mind on whether or not this'll be good.

Getting! :D, nough said :P

Also no i rather have them make a new CSS then update CSS as it is. People were pissed for the engine update... A Classic should stay one :)

Plus totally different game play if those are the new features.
