The only reason kids tend to choose a mac over a pc is because of all the things they "HEAR". Im a PC and will be for life. First thing kids look for is looks, the apple products are neat and sleek, shiny? lol. And of course there is the iphone and ipods that may have influenced them that apple makes the better product? I would choose a ipod over a zune any day, and im still a pc though. |
I was under the impression that the 'teen years' ended at age 19. |

Not surprised at all... this is also the generation that gets tons of viruses far more than the generation my grandmother is in. Of course this means more work for us techies and could mean a serious shift if Apple plays their cards right. @inspector I agree I am a PC forever but have no problem with MAC's I too would take an iPod over a Zune though my phone does the job just fine now a days. |

"Well if you look at the Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, The Imacs , The Iphone, the Ipad, the MB Air, just everything, and it just looks way cooler, so no surprise there. Yeah, Apple is everywhere , great marketing, plus great products that get that good word of mouth. Just look at Hothardware between yesterday and today. In Two and a half Geeks there was like 10 Minutes dedicated to some Iphone 4S bashing, then came this article, then today there some promo for the Samsung Galaxy S sales and the first thing it mentions is the Iphone. So , who can blame teens for wanting to prefer what gets buzzed every single day of our lives on TV , Web and all the major media." "The Apple Soap Opera looks like it will be the longest running daily drama for years to come." |

That above post describes why I have to say "Just as expected", all of the usual points are there so why reiterate those points. I will say that the iProducts do contribute to people buying the Mac-products; I mean why else would people be buying a MacBook Pro to go along with their iPhone, because it looks cool, because it's made by the same company who made the iPhone and because it works. The iMac is kind of different since it doesn't need an iProduct for it to sell, it's form-factor, it's features and it's price point make it a nice buy for aspiring college students and just about everybody else. |
