I think case modding itself is still popular among the enthusiat and gamers and it probably is more apparent in undergound so to speak. You see more of it in forums such as HH and others, and more communication in these forums than the general population. But it certainly in my opinion its still an ongoing thing.I done my first mod in the Athlon K7/700 slot A processors Era!And still have the case which I,m gng to do a complete makeover, also have a new Coolermaster 690 that I plan to trickout to! Its fun to take a new case and change the look to your own identifiable and personal style so I,ll gut the new case too! One thing thats changed that probably has changrd the search statistics is now these days people can buy a premodded case that has great looks like the Smooth Creations which are incrediable and the works already done. Thats a good thing to but their is still that group out there that does a complete mod or adds a personal touch to an already modded one.I know that I,ll keep on tricking mine out. My 1st Mod

Yeah, I think it has decreased because people don't need to mod their cases as much now-a-days. They sell crazy decked out cases either by themselves, or as previously said with companies like Smooth Creations. amdcrankitup, that case is pretty cool looking. It's very geometrical. |

It turned out pretty good I think for my 1st and limited tools but at that time modded cases just started showing up on the net and the next thing you know things just took of and we ended up here with all kind of incrediable designs. Some home grown mods here at HH that are absolutely awesome. But that old one in my pic has been empty for awhile and I gave it to my son but he like is XBOX so I got it back and gng to change the lok entirely in my spare time and then find some spare parts put them in and give it to my daughter, cause she,s like her Dad loves Custom Rigs and SPEED! Only she,s Smarter than her DAD! And Dam_ site better looking! |

I think case modding isn't searched so often because I feel cases that are coming out dont need to be modded, they are just that great. |

In addition to new cases coming out that already have that "mod" look to them, I think people who do mod just aren't searching on Google using that particular term. Most modders have bookmarks of good sites for reference by now and don't need to search as much. Also, when I mod, I might search for terms like "quiet PC fan", "LED fan", etc. Just because Google doesn't get as many hits for a certain term anymore doesn't necessarily indicate a trend. |
