Is it really that hard to just type in the number? I wouldn't bother with this, seems more practical to type it in. |

Typing it in leaves room for error and is probably quite a bit slower. So say you were at a fair and processing credit cards for your merchandise you would probably end up with a line if you had a good product. I like the idea but I do agree that for now typing in the card is fine. |

Typing the credit card info is absolutely fine for me,Seriously what's the hurry?& Would still have to fumble with wallet to get card out to scan . Unless the digits are memorized.to enter. |

That is why I use Square personally. I have the hardware plug in card reader for my smart phone. This reader as well as the square app (where I can log in and type in a credit/debit card on any web interface the is bi-directional) make it easily accessible. On top of that the cost is figured into each transaction. It therefore makes no sense for me to pay $1-300 monthly for a standard credit/debit card reader. On the other end as a personal credit/debit card payment ability for you personally (a personal digital wallet(credit debit payment method) contained in your phone) NFC wins. The thing is from what I have heard even if it is not active or enabled on your smart phone you can get a magnetic internal sticker that will enable it. I have also heard it is actually in most smart phones PCB, but it is not enabled, and this can be fixed in many cases with a mere software update if or when the hand set manufacturer decides to do so. |

I can understand the need to take a picture of your check but I can't understand how this'll make it easier. As far as it goes, one of those card reader thingies would make mobile payments easier then taking a picture of it. |
I don't believe it actually takes a photo of the card but works more like the barcode readers do on the phone. Simply scans the card and submits it to the credit card clearing house. |

Am I the only one concerned that this sort of technology might lead to unexpected repercussions? Although this is convenient, payment processing is still something that should be validated through either a pin number or a signature for secure transactions. I still get upset when places accept my credit card without checking my ID! Hopefully security experts have a solid road map for figuring out how to make this a secure as possible. |
