Wow so if you do like half the game and suddenly forget to save your screwed :D. If im on a trip or something with no internet then i can't play... they should come up with a better plan :( |
If people didn't have to rampantly pirate PC games so much we would have more exclusive titles and we would never have seen annoyances like this which only serve to slow the pirating while annoying the rest of us |
It's been four years since Ubisoft killed StarForce--I don't think anyone actually expected them to invent something *worse.* Goes to show someone at Ubisoft believes in beating other people's expectations. |
I couldn't agree with you more, Joel. UbiSoft just made my "do not buy" list. They seem to forget that many of us who *won't* resort to piracy will still spend our money on a different game altogether rather than put up with DRM. |
That's a bad move on Ubisoft's part. I bet this will force more PC gamers to buy upcoming titles for console platforms. That's unfortunate, as games on the PC are more aesthetically pleasing than it's console counterpart, and so on.... |
This is sad. Really sad. Games like this I even wonder if I should buy, and I don't play games like this on my PC. I don't like the motto to treat your customers like crap. |
Bye Bye Ubisoft. |
I took a look at their Assassin's Creed game-like product for the iPhone. The crap doesn't stop at the DRM. You spend more time fighting the controls than you do playing. Suffice it to say they won't get my 99¢ any time soon (oh, it's probably more than that, anyway). |
Another great game that I won't be playing because of the bad DRM. Sad thing is when PC gamers don't buy it partly because of the really bad DRM they will blame it on piracy. |
Argh!,.....Wait a while,... the Pirates will fix it, 'Matey"! |
indeed, have they not learned yet that for every piece of drm they make someone always brakes it.... |
Wait, am I the only one in "The Butterfly and Bunny Kingdom where Internet connections are impervious, woven as they are from pure sunshine, cuddles, and cloud fluff"?!? LOL - nicely done, Joel. |
I agree that the pirates will fix this issue. What I don't understand is that we could always install a game on numerous computers, and yet they think you need to be connected to the net in order to do that. You can also take a copy of your save and put it on another computer. |
Mental, No, you can't. One of the newfound DRM restrictions on a lot of modern games is that you can only install it to so many computers before you have to call in and validate the install (at best) or the game just flat won't let you install it again. Spore is one example. Also, while you can physically carry or copy a save from Computer A to COmputer B, keeping your saves in the cloud lets you access *all* of them no matter where you are. |

And the Ubisoft jet gets hit by a ballistic missile and goes down in flames. |
