I have used my QuietPoints for almost the last two years non-stop. Well I lost a pair or they were stolen about a year ago but I replaced them quickly. I recommend these over the Bose equivalents. I could go on all day about how useful they are. If I do have one problem with them though its that the wire that is supposedly easily replaceable. Isn't. The reason being that plastic base of the audio jack connector needs to be very thin in order for it to fit into the headphones. Such a wire from my experience must be bought from audio-technica which will set you back $10. |

The price seems quite reasonable for what is being offered. I've never heard of microphones detecting the amount of noise cancelation that should be used and it seems tempting to see someone test them in the NYC subways, where there is heavy fluctuation in decibel levels. |
The noise cancellation is actually very effective while listening to music and it is very flexible for noise fluctuations in a subway or similar scenario. In fact I only recommend these headphones if you are a commuter or find yourself using headphones in environments where there is substantial ambient noise. They don't work with unpredictable sounds like a person talking but rather for engines and the noise from crowds of people. For listening at home they are okay but if you use your headphones mostly at home you're probably better off with a pair of Grados or similar quality audiophile headset. |
