Asus Reveals 3D-Enabled Eee Pad Memo 3D Tablet

Computex 2011 has officially started off with a major bang, and it's largely thanks to Asus. The company has led the way with a slew of announcements, with the Padfone being the one that'll have people talking and gawking for months. But this one ain't bad, either. The Eee Pad Memo 3D hops onto two bandwagons at once: slate, and 3D. But can you really blame Asus? LG's G-Slate is already offering 3D support in a tablet, so Asus is already having to play catch-up.

The Eee Pad Memo 3D is a 7" tablet, which comes as somewhat of a surprise. Lots of newer tablets are using the larger 8.9" or 10" form factors, and it's refreshing to see yet another 7" option thrown into the mix.

The company claims that this one's using the "newest version" of Android (but they don't specifically clarify), and there's also a multi-touch display, one that's glasses-free. So the good news: you don't need 3D glasses to see the effect. The bad news: there's no price or release date yet, but hopefully that'll be made clear soon.
