Apple's iOS 4.3.2 Update Unfreezes FaceTime
Good news if you've been annoyed with your mobile Apple device for one reason or another related to the software. Apple this week released its iOS 4.3.2 software update for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (third and fourth generation), and iPad 1 and 2. There are a number of fixes in the update, including one that addresses a FaceTime bug causing freezing problems or displaying random photos from the camera roll.
Also fixed in the latest update is the Verizon 3G connectivity issue that a number of iPad 2 users have been complaining about. Prior to the update, CDMA versions of the iPad 2 would fail to find a 3G connection after disconnecting. At that point, the only solution was to reboot the tablet.
Apple also took steps to address the Comodo SSL vulnerability that took place in March.
"Several fraudulent SSL certificates were issued by a Comodo affiliate registration authority," Apple said. "This may allow a man-in-the-middle attacker to redirect connections and intercept user credentials or other sensitive information. This issue is addressed by blacklisting the fraudulent certificates."
Other notable fixes include an update to libxslt, QuickLook, and two WebKit patches that previously could cause an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.
Depending on your Internet connection, set aside ample time for the update. The iOS 4.3.2 update checks in at over 660MB.
