Apple To Finally Ship New iPad To China Starting July 20

China is a big place. Not only that, but a huge market. Apple products have become all the rage over there, and based on Apple's latest quarterly earnings, it's seeing a huge amount of profits come from that nation. Clearly, it's a priority for Apple to sell as many wares as possible there, and finally, the 'new iPad' will be launching in China. Starting July 20, those in China will be able to grab the Retina-equipped iPad that has long since been available in many other nations. Why so late? There was a spat between Apple and Proview over naming rights and other such legalese, but evidently that's all under the rug at this point.


Pricing is interestingly quoted in U.S. dollars in Apple's press release, with the 16GB Wi-Fi model starting at $499. Pre-orders will be accepted daily from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. beginning Thursday, July 19 for pick up the following day; those interested in saving a bit can still grab the iPad 2 starting at $399.
