Activision and Bungie Release Destiny Box, Trailer Video, And Beta Details

Destiny isn't set to launch until Q2/Q3 next year, but Bungie and Activision have wasted no time in revealing the box art for their game. Given the art we've seen in the past, these boxes are likely to strike no one as all-too-interesting, though ahead of the next-generation console launch, it is still kind of neat to get a glimpse at one of those boxes. The game has been confirmed for the PlayStation 3 and 4, as well as the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, no PC variant has been announced, but it has been rumored that it's being considered.

Along with the box art, a new trailer has been released that takes us to the moon:

If a trailer and box art are not enough to tide you over for a bit longer, you'll be happy to know that a beta is being planned for "early 2014". If you pre-ordered the game before today's date, you'll automatically receive a beta invite via an email from the retailer that you handed your cash over to. For everyone else, supplies are limited, but you can still get in on the action. When you pre-order now, you will get a 9-digit code printed on your receipt, on a flyer given to you at the time of purchase, or again it could be sent via email.

If you want in, head here to get a list of participating retailers, and then waste as little time as possible to guarantee your entry. I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be one heck of a popular beta, especially given it spans four different consoles.
