Acer Ships 7-inch, Dual-Core Iconia B1 16GB Android Tablet

On the hunt for a new slate? There are plenty of those being unveiled at this year's Mobile World Congress. Acer's in that crowd, introducing the Iconia B1 16GB. The company is actually billing this one as a slate for families on the hunt for "a second tablet for their children," but also calls is "ideal for first-time users." It's pretty fascinating that the tablet game has skyrocketed to a point where people are already considering second and third units, much like they did with full-fledged computers some years ago. The Iconia B1-A71 is a 7", Android-based unit that weighs 320 grams, boasts a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs Jelly Bean.

There's also a 1024x600 resolution capacitive display, and a microSD expansion slot in case the 16GB of built-in storage isn't quite enough. It's shipping right now in Europe, Middle East and Africa with a starting price of €139, but there's no word on when it'll come stateside.
