Acer Introduces 27" Full HD 3D Monitor, The HN274H

Another day, another new monitor. But this one's no ordinary LCD. Acer's new 27" HN274H is the first 27" 3D monitor to support HDMI (dual-link) 3D, bringing a new level of sterescopic support. It's equipped with a 1920x1080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 2ms response time, and a built-in IR emitter. That last bit means that you can connect the monitor a set-top box or Blu-ray Disc player via HDMI and use it as a television. The £499 price tag is definitely steep, but that's the price premium you'll pay for 3D on your LCD.

In addition, LED lamps are mercury-free and safer for the environment whilst delivering better performance. Acer 3D monitors meet stringent industry standards and are compliant with RoHS (the EU directive restricting the usage of hazardous substances) and ENERGY STAR® requirements.

Lower energy consumption not only helps reducing costs but also preserves resources and the environment for future generations.

Acer eColor Management optimizes image performance in common usage scenarios, delivering an improved, more enjoyable viewing experience. This feature allows you to quickly tailor the performance characteristics (brightness, saturation, contrast, etc.) of your monitor to best suit the visual content. Acer eColor Management, which includes a set of convenient scenario modes, is the result of comprehensive research to reveal the high-end features sought most by users. Psychological and technological studies were also carried out to determine the best method of implementing those features.

Acer Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM) dynamically adjusts the contrast ratio to achieve ultra-sharp images. Each scene is analysed to fine-tune images frame by frame and enhance colour quality, obtaining a dramatic improvement of gradation and detail, especially in dimmer and brighter scenes.

Now that is pretty sweet. Can't wait till some reviews are done even though it sounds solid.

Sweet that it's 27 inches and has a built in IR receiver.

Worried that the picture quality won't be up to par (many Acer displays are known for this.)

Sucks that it's only 1080P.

I'm still waiting for the Samsung monitors to show up. With all the hype that came from CES 2011, they supposedly will be Le Creme de la Creme of the 3D monitors.

I agree with SammyHayabuza - will be interested to see Samsung's offerings. I have a Samsung monitor/TV now and love it.

I like the new style and toned down bezel. But hell,....For $833.00 you should be getting all three for your gaming setup!

At least at that price it should have 240Hz refresh rate, a 5ms response time?
