3.5 Inch SBC runs Linux, for those DIYers

Acrosser Technology announces the availability of AR-B1652 a 3.5" Single Board Computer (SBC). It features fanless operation and low power consumption. The integrated VIA S3 ProSavage 4 Graphics core, supports dual independent displays with resolutions up to 1600x1200.

The SBC offers numerous peripherals such as 10/100 Ethernet, Audio in/out, USB, UDMA33 IDE interface, RS232/485 interface and CF II slot as SSD solution. With a 3.5" form factor and the above features, it is well suited POS, KIOSK, automation and other applications.

"Acrosser Technology is shipping a 3.5-inch SBC (single-board computer) powered by a two-chip Via chipset. The AR-B1652 is available with 533MHz or 800MHz "Mark" Corefusion processors, and runs a 2.4 Linux kernel. It targets low-power, low-noise applications, including kiosks, automation, and POS (point-of-sales/service). Via's Mark CoreFusion chip integrates its classic "Eden" embedded core and CLE266 Northbridge into a single package said to save 15 percent on real estate requirements. Additional features of the AR-B1652 SBC include an integrated graphics processor with support for LCDs and CRTs, and a wide variety of standard PC I/O."
