Want to Quit Your Job without Confrontation? There's an App for That!

There's no easy way to tell your boss you're giving up your swank corner office and flexible schedule to join the circus. It's even harder to quit your job if you're on especially good terms with the person in charge, but sometimes, you just have to go where the heart leads. Luckily for you, if you're not one for confrontation, there's an app that will deliver the bad news for you, via a text message, of course.

The "Quit Your Job" app is available on iOS for iPhone and comes from the same silly bunch that helped you dump your ex with Breakup Text. This latest text message generator is just as goofy, though it's free (Breakup Text runs $0.99).

Quit Your Job

Here's an example of a text message the app will generate based on certain criteria you choose:

"Mr. Jenkins, I've always been a bit of a romantic. And running off and joining the circus is such a poetic escape for us dreamers of the world. For me it wasn't so much of the whimsical calling I thought it would be, as a last-ditch effort to escape the long arm of the law. I can't go into details, but let's just say some men in suits are looking for me. So I quit my job, and am joining the circus. I think I'll do well there -- I'm already used to being surrounded by a bunch of clowns at work."

You start off by choosing one of three reasons why you're quitting. They include, "I'm sick of the corporate world," "I want to get rich," and "I found a new job." From there, you have another trio of choices, followed by a third set asking who will get the message, which can be your boss, your partner, or your friend.

Should you actually use the app to quit your job? Absolutely not. Will you use the app to quit your job? Undoubtedly somebody will. Either way, it's available now from the App Store.
