Now granted, this multiplayer beta is only open through the weekend, and there will only be two maps to choose from during its brief period of availability. Likewise, you’ll have to contend with just two game modes, one playable demon and just seven weapons. Sure, it’s limited, but we’ll take what we can get at this point. After being teased... Sony is readying a new update (version 3.5) for the PlayStation 4, one that will introduce the ability to stream games to Windows PCs and Mac systems. The long overdue Remote Play feature brings parity to Microsoft's Xbox One in this regard, the latter of which gained the same functionality last summer. The ability to stream games to PC was well received pretty much from the get-go on the Xbox One, and barring any hiccups, the same is likely to be true of the PS4. The caveat? You'll need a modern version of Windows (Windows 8.1 or Windows 10) or Mac OS X (OS X 10.10 Yosemite or  OS X 10.11... Read more...
If you need a break from your catalog of current games and crave some old school action, good news. Sony has gone and quietly added a couple of notable PlayStation 2 titles to the PlayStation Store. They include Bully and Manhunt, two Rockstar games that are both now playable on the PlayStation 4 console using its PS2 emulation software. As with just about any Rockstar release, both Bully and Manhunt were controversial releases when they first debuted. With Bully, the game's title along with Rockstar's reputation for games that highlight depravity like its Grand Theft Auto series, there was fear... Read more...
Sony announced that its PlayStation VR headset will arrive in October, and the barebones kit will set you back a hefty $399. However, Sony carefully pointed out that the $399 price point doesn’t include one particular accessory that is mandatory for the PlayStation VR to function: the PlayStation Camera.Gamers at this week's GDC In San Francisco strapped into PlayStation VR Sony’s official reasoning for not including the PlayStation Camera is that most PS4 gamers already have the accessory (although we find that hard to believe). Whatever the case, Sony has announced a new PlayStation VR Launch... Read more...
Sony serious about virtual reality (VR) and that point was made clear this week with announcement of specs, pricing and availability for its PlayStation VR headset accessory for the PlayStation 4. Although Sony isn’t ready to give a specific availability date, we do know that it will be available in October with a price tag of $399 in the United States. That’s a pretty fair price when you consider that the HTC Vive costs $799 and the Oculus Rift will run you $599. And you also have to add in the cost of a pretty beefy PC that’s required to power those VR headsets. If you already own a PS4, the... Read more...

What's notable about the newest update is that it adds support for DLC, which comes just as Bethesda readies the first... Read more...
Developer Naughty Dog has been a naughty dog, indeed. Publisher Sony announced today yet another delay for Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which is now slated to ship exclusively to PlayStation 4 consoles on May 10, 2016. On the bright side, it's only a two-week delay from its previously announced ship date, though this is the third time the game's release has been pushed back. Naughty Dog and Sony originally hoped to launch Uncharted 4 in 2015 but the need for more development time led to its release being pushed back to March 18, 2016. The day before Christmas, Sony announced that it... Read more...

Microsoft was quite ecstatic about the Xbox One’s October sales win; the first time in many months that it had overtaken the long-time sales champ: the PlayStation 4. However, Microsoft had some big league help during the month of October thanks to the release of Halo 5: Guardians. But it appears that Microsoft’s victory lap has been cut short. According to new numbers released by NPD, Sony’s PlayStation 4 snatched the sales crown back from Microsoft for the month of November. Not even Halo 5 could save the Xbox One this time around, and platform-exclusive Rise of The Tomb Raider was of no help... Read more...

Well, we’re guessing that this isn’t the response that indie developer Twisted was expecting. Earlier this week, Twisted announced that it was releasing its own native app for Windows that provides remote play capabilities for PlayStation 4 games. Twisted confirmed that the app would cost $10 as it “sadly [is] the only way to support my living costs.” Unfortunately for Twisted, it appears that Sony isn’t about to let a third-party developer profit from an app that it could easily offer for free. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, took to Twitter to let PlayStation... Read more...
