Well that certainly didn’t take long. Just days after Sprint got the hot new HTC Touch Pro2, Verizon Wireless is announcing that it too will carry the phone. Like the Sprint version, Verizon’s variant will feature a 3.6-inch WVGA variable-angle tilting touch screen and a slide-out keyboard that is larger than its Touch Pro predecessor. Sprint customers who’ve been waiting for the HTC Touch Pro2 won’t have to wait much longer. This hot new phone will be available on Sprint’s network beginning September 8 for $349.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year agreement. The Touch Pro2 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and the TouchFLO user interface. The latest version of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D user interface makes it easy to switch from email to a call with a single touch. Verizon Wireless already announced that Novatel Wireless' MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot would soon be sold and operable on its network, and now that company's main US competitor is doing the same. Today, Sprint came forward to announce that the very same device -- albeit with a new, shiny aluminum shell and a Sprint logo -- is coming to its network. Today, Sprint announced a high-speed modem that will enable subscribers to connect to the Internet over both 3G and 4G WiMAX networks. The new dual-mode modem will operate on both the WiMAX network Clearwire Corp is building and on Sprint's existing mobile broadband network. The U300 USB modem will be available starting Sunday, December 21 for $149.99 after a $50 rebate and with a two-year contract. Data plans will cost $80 per month for the dual-mode card.
