When you're on the path to becoming a power user, you begin to notice certain things that the average person might not. One of those is the difference between typing on a sweet mechanical keyboard with luxurious key action versus pounding away on a run-of-the-mill squishy plank that relies on mushy membranes to register your keystrokes. The difference may seem subtle to the uninitiated, though even casual typists can recognize that there's something inherently superior about typing on a mechanical keyboard, even if they can't pinpoint what exactly it is. Of course, we know it's the mechanical... Read more...

The power supply has a 135mm fan with a durable Hydraulic Dynamic Bearing. The PSU also features a... Read more...
Is there anything better to type on than a keyboard with mechanical key switches? The correct answer is 'No', though we'd also accept 'Hell no, are you crazy!?'. We're big fans of mechanical keyboards for a number of reasons, and thanks to Cooler Master, we now have one more option to consider when shopping high performance planks. The latest addition to the mechanical keyboard party is the CM Storm QuickFire Pro, the next incarnation of the QuickFire Rapid. There are different types of mechanical key switches, and the QuickFire Pro ships in four of the most popular flavors, including Cherry MX... Read more...
You often hear computers being compared to cars, especially when it comes to tinkering and overclocking, but whereas there's nothing sweeter sounding than the loud roar of a big block engine, PCs are most admired when they run silently. That's not always easy to accomplish, and to help you towards that goal, Cooler Master just launched its Silent Pro M2 line of modular power supplies. Cooler Master claims it improved the 135mm fan in the Silent Pro M2 series to run longer and quieter than before, though the company stopped short of offering up any particulars, such as the exact noise level and... Your PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game consoles can stand upright or lay on their sides, so shouldn't your home theater PC (HTPC) be able to do the same thing? That depends entirely on which computer case you choose. Cooler Master's new Elite 361 mini tower is one of just a handful of cases that have been designed to work their mojo in either orientation. Cooler Master's rotatable chassis features a minimalistic design that allows it to sit horizontally or vertically without taking up a ton of space (it measures 5.9 inches wide x 14.4 inches high x 18.2 inches deep). Inside the chassis you'll find... Read more...
Cooler Master's been doing its thing for two decades now, and as part of its ongoing 20th anniversary celebration, the peripheral maker today announced a temporary price reduction for its CM Storm Trooper computer case. Effectively immediately, the CM Storm Trooper will be available for $150 through all of Cooler Master's U.S. and Canadian channel partners, down a cool $40 from its normal $190 price tag. "Our team has been searching for several ways to show our customers that we've gotten this far by the bond that we've forged with them and our partners over the years. It is through this, and other,... Read more...
This isn't just a new year for Cooler Master, 2012 just happens to represent the company's 20th year of service. What better way to celebrate the occasion than to release a new chassis? Honestly, we can think of several, but none of them productive (and some aren't even legal), so kudos to Cooler Master for staying out of trouble and kicking off 2012 with the introduction of the Cosmos II, a so-called "Ultra Tower." What's an Ultra Tower? In Cooler Master's words, it's "a benchmark for all enclosures that exist and all that follow." Funny marketing aside, the Cosmos II is a neat looking case with... Read more...
The holiday shopping season is upon us, and that means setting aside some hard earned funds to buy your family and friends gifts because, well, that's the kind of thing we do this time of year. But lest you forget about yourself, Cooler Master today announced the Elite 431 Plus, a mid-tower computer case with some high end features at a mainstream price. The Elite 431 Plus is an all-black chassis with a somewhat aggressive styling, side window, and painted interior. A 120mm blue LED fan up front gives the case a bit of bling, in case you're into that sort of thing, and there's room for up to four... Read more...

If you're in the market for a new high-end chassis, Cooler Master has launched an updated High Air Flow (HAF) case you might find interesting. Currently the company is talking up the NVIDIA version but we suspect there'll be a generic equivalent as well. The advantage of the new HAF X, according to CM, is its ability to handle more than two video cards and a great deal of heat. "These new limited edition cases represent the culmination of our collective efforts. Cooler Master and NVIDIA® engineers worked tirelessly to improve thermal designs in order to best cool NVIDIA® GTX 480 graphics... Read more...
We just recently ran a contest on HotHardware in which we planned to give away a high-end, custom-built gaming system (built by yours truly), to one lucky reader who came up with a creative name for our weekly video podcast.
