Signs Point to Apple's OS X Mountain Lion Launching on July 25th
When Apple unveiled its Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) operating system back in June, the Cupertino outfit said it would be available in July from the Mac App Store, but refrained from offering up a specific release date. With barely two weeks left in the month, Apple is running out of time to make good on that promise.
Not to worry if you're a Mac user looking forward to Mountain Lion. According to the latest rumor mill chatter, Apple Stores in the U.S. and overseas are planning an overnight work date on Tuesday, July 24th, presumably in anticipation of Mountain Lion's arrival. If that's the case, it would mean Mountain Lion will likely release to the public the next day (Wednesday, July 25th). Tuesday overnights aren't terribly rare for Apple, so this could be much ado about nothing, but given the time frame, it seems too much of a coincidence.
