RIM Introduces BlackBerry Curve 9315 To T-Mobile's Network

The good news? There's a new BlackBerry in town. The bad news? It's not one of those fancy BlackBerry 10 handsets. Despite the fact that RIM's new operating system (and associated hardware) is scheduled to be launched on 1/30, T-Mobile is taking the opportunity to introduce the BlackBerry Curve 9315 right now, and to no one's surprise, the carrier is confirming that this is its "most affordable BlackBerry." It using the dated BlackBerry 7.1 operating system, and boasts only a 3.2MP camera. The cost? $49.99 out-of-pocket down payment and 20 equal monthly payments of $10 per month via T-Mobile’s Equipment Installment Plan, with a two-year service agreement and qualifying T-Mobile Value voice and data plan. That still feels quite high for a BlackBerry that's going to be thoroughly surpassed by the products shown in just a few weeks, but for those who absolutely cannot wait, it'll be available for you.

Aside from the standard Curve form factor (including RIM's legendary keyboard), this one includes T-Mobile's exclusive Wi-Fi Calling technology, built-in GPS, a microSD card slot, a dedicated BBM key, and a built-in FM radio.

this is probably purely for those wanting classic BB functionality without the unknown of the new OS and more expensive designs. This seems like how some people ran out to buy win7 computers before win8 would come out.
