Motorola Slashes Moto X Price Tag, Now $99.99 On Contract

The Moto X is an attractive smartphone for many a user, and it enjoys the massive advertising and marketing resources of Google propelling it forward in the marketplace, but up to now it’s cost $199.99 with a 2-year contract. That’s a lot of scratch for a phone that, despite its positive qualities, isn’t one of the most powerful handsets on the market.

Moto X price cut

There was a rumor a couple of months ago that the Moto X (16GB) would soon be available for under $100 on contact, and it turns out that rumor was correct. Motorola updated its website to reflect the change, and AT&T, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular have followed suit. (Verizon still lists the phone as $199.99 on contract, for whatever reason.)

A hundred bucks for the Moto X will no doubt sit better with consumers, and we imagine that the change will result in a nice boost for sales. Get ‘em while they’re hot.
