Father's Day Gift Idea: Amazon Marks Down Amazon Fire TV and Kindle Fire HDX 7-Inch Bundle To $249
Amazon is selling the bundle for just $249. That's a $79 savings over buying them separately, in which you'd be paying $328. And heck, with the money you save, you can knock out most of the cost of an Amazon Prime membership if you don't already have one -- as luck would have it, Amazon just today added access to ad-free streaming of more than 1 million songs for Prime members as part of its new Prime Music service. That's in addition to the other benefits, which include free two-shipping on millions of qualified items, unlimited streaming access to over 40,000 movies and TV shows, and the ability to borrow over 500,000 books for free through Kindle Owners' Lending Library.
The Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch model included in the bundle is the 16GB version with Special Offers and Wi-Fi connectivity. It sports a 1920x1200 resolution (323 pixels per inch), 2.2GHZ quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and that "Mayday" button you've probably seen in commercials -- on-device tech support that's available every day and time of the year.
A newer release is the Fire TV set-top box. It boasts voice search capabilities to help narrow down exactly what you're looking for with little fuss. We found it to be a competent streamer when we reviewed the device back in May.
