Asus Feeds Jelly Bean Update to Transformer Pad TF300 Tablet

While the majority of Android users are still waiting on their wireless carrier or device maker to deliver Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), Asus is taking care of its fan base by doling out Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) to Transformer Pad TF300 owners, the company announced on Facebook this weekend. It's the first of several scheduled Jelly Bean updates to the Transformer Series.

"We are pleased to announce that we will be rolling out a major software update for the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300, which will bring Android 4.1, Jelly Bean to the device for the first time in North America. In addition to this being the first of our planned Jelly Bean updates for the Transformer Series, we have also added a range of new features, including new power saving options, global file search and several improvements to the pre-installed apps," Asus said.

The response from TF300 owners has been generally positive, while TF700T (Transformer Pad Infinity), TF201 (Transformer Prime), and TF101 (Eee Pad Transformer) owners have to look on with envy, at least for the time being. Asus promised to announce further Jelly Bean updates "in the near future."
