PayPal Mistakenly Credits Delaware Man’s Account with $92 Quadrillion Dollars

We've heard of going from rags to riches before, and in Monopoly, we'd occasionally pluck the "Bank Error" card from the Community Chest and collect $200. But even winning the lottery doesn't come close to the good fortune that temporarily befell Chris Reynolds, a Delaware County resident who went to bed with no money in his PayPal account and awoke to find that a $92 quadrillion credit.

"I'm just feeling like a million bucks," Reynolds said in a statement, according to "At first I thought that I owed quadrillions. It was quite a big surprise."

It was also a short lived one. This was an obvious error on PayPal's part, and unlike Monopoly, you don't get to go around the board with your newfound riches while the bank shrugs off the error. PayPal corrected its enormous mistake, returning Reynolds' account balance back to $0 instead of $92,233,720,368,547,800 that it had been.

Still, it was nice to dream, and had the unusually large money transfer stayed in his account, Reynolds planned to pay the national debt (a mere $16.7 trillion currently) and then acquire the Phillies baseball team, assuming he could negotiate "a great price."

Hey I wouldn't mind if even .0001% of that came into my account suddenly. :)

Hopefully he took a screenshot to return to from time to time for laughs.

With errors like that, its why i trust physical moneys over a bank account.

Wonder if that could buy out all the land in Delaware County, maybe even in a State or two?

So sweet to brag..."oh I have a few rental properties right now, like LA and Vegas, renting the city out right now..."

Heh... Vegas is such a honky-tonk. You could buy that place for a song... wait, I think someone already did.
