R580 vs G71
The Inquirer has posted a brief but confusing bit of news regarding how ATI's upcoming R580 flagship core will compare against NVIDIA's upcoming G71 flagship GPU. In one breath, it sounds like R580 will be an absolute slam dunk however the post ends with what seems to be a complete contradiction. Head on over to read the article and make your own decision which GPU will be king next year.
While some games track 3DMark closely, others do not, so ATI will probably be more than that little bit ahead on a number of games, but this new card is probably not the clean kill ATI would want it to be. The top end G71 should have little trouble eclipsing it in most things.
