Okoro Media Systems Ships HTPCs With Core i3/i5 CPUs and USB 3.0

Okoro Media Systems has been making HTPCs (and little else) for years on end, and they're quietly becoming a force in the media center PC market. They specialize in making computers that work well in a living room setting, and their newest generation of HTPCs is proof of why they're staying at the top: offering cutting edge components.

With Intel's Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 dominating the headlines, Okoro has decided that it's time to jump in. The company's new range of home theater PCs can now be ordered with a Core i3 or Core i5 CPU inside, giving them plenty of horsepower to churn through 1080p videos, Blu-ray playback and even a quad-pipe CableCARD.

In addition to adding the newest Intel chips, the new machines (with the exception of the lower-end Q100) can also bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats when used on Blu-ray, which means that users can enjoy full uncompressed HD audio when the machines are connected to compatible A\V receivers via HDMI. That's not all, though. These new machines also ship with USB 3.0 support, which is extremely rare right now on the market. You can also get between 1TB and 8TB of internal storage, Windows 7 64-bit, internal CableCARDs, DDR3 memory and multi-zone audio support. The machines aren't cheap, but the new 2010 lineup is on sale now starting at $1295.
