NZXT Launches Avatar S Gaming Mouse

NZXT is a little late in trying to capitalize on the Avatar hype, and entirely way to early to pitch a branded product as being based off of a classic (like Star Wars, for example). But whatever, we'll cut NZXT some slack here because, well, the company's new Avatar S gaming mice look really cool.

These rodents inspired by James Cameron's ridiculously successful film come in either black or white. What's that, no blue version!? Apparently not, though blue LED highlights accent the mice.

Professional gamers probably need not apply, but for everyone else, the Avatar S series boasts up to 1600 DPI (you can switch between 1600, 800, and 400 in-game using a physical switch -- no drivers required). Other features include 5 buttons, 30 inches/second max speed, 20g max acceleration, and 16kb of onboard memory to save your personalized settings.

"We designed Avatar S as an intuitive solution that gives gamers maximum personalization with minimum hassle," said Johnny Hou, Founder and Chief Designer at NZXT. "Your profile settings can be easily configured and then saved onto the onboard memory in case you game on multiple rigs. When gearing up at a LAN party, the last thing gamers should have to worry about is whether or not their mouse is configured correctly. Avatar S eliminates that headache."

Best of all is the price. While we've seen higher end mice go for almost a C-note, owning an Avatar S will only set you back $40 MSRP.
