Hard Rock Hotels Gift Guests With iTunes Playlist Upon Checkin

Ever wanted to stay in a Hard Rock Hotel? Holding off just got a touch more difficult. Starting this week, guests who visit one of the company's many hotel locations will receive a complimentary playlist of tunes to accompany their stay, giving them a piece of Hard Rock to take back to the real world once the joy ride is over.

The program, which is aptly called 'The Sound of Your Stay,' is available at all of the company's hotel locations. It was designed in collaboration with BMF Media Group, and it works like this. Upon check-in, guests will receive a pass to download ten free, specially selected songs on iTunes. Users will get to pick from three playlists: SUN, which has songs that mesh well with the company's water-front locations; PLAYERS, which goes great if you're a gambler; and CITY, which should feature street vibes perfect for those who enjoy burning fuel for hours in an attempt to locate a free parking spot.

Of note, the three playlists will be renewed every six months, which enables frequent guests to hear new tracks on their next visit. Tempting, isn't it?

Heh, that's pretty cool.  That would definately be an interesting experience.  But where does the music play?

You pose a good question. I just hope the answer isn't another question: "What's the most unpleasant place from which music could play?"

I wonder if the songs are only in Apple's DRM'd iTunes-only format, or if you can port them to other devices without hassle?

@3vi1 didn't they get rid of the DRM formatted songs?
