Hello everyone, welcome to the HH Nightcap.  Tonight we are serving a buffet of news from all over the continent.  With just about the entire spectrum of hardware being covered this evening, everyone should find what they are looking for ;)  Xoxide Clear Keyboard @ Bytesector "Xoxide is well known for their active involvement in supplying computer enthusiasts with modded cases and modding equipment. In the past we took a look at a couple of their cases and found them to be fairly interesting and definitely worth looking at when searching for a new case. Today, I will be taking a look at a very unique computer keyboard that will catch the eyes of many while serving its purpose... Read more...
Good evening friends, welcome back to HH :)  Thanks for bearing with me this morning, I made it to my meeting on time, but, not with much room to spare.  Nonetheless, taking a gander into my inbox-o-wonders, it looks like my fellow editors from around the net had quite the busy day themselves.  So, without further ado, here is your evening dose of juice...  Antec NeoPower 480 Review @ ClubOC "The box top of the Antec NeoPower 480, aside from the obvious Matrix overtones, clearly shows the power supply's greatest innovative feature. No, not the use of a single 120mm fan to provide cooling. How about the five connectors that allow you to pick and choose as many, or as few,... Read more...
Hello everyone, JeffB stopping in for your afternoon news fix.  Today has been an insanely busy day for me and it's only 12 noon!  Between friends having computer problems, intermittent connectivity, and of course, reviews of hardware, I'm really juggling today.  Hopefully I will get through the day unscathed and can get a normal routine back this weekend.  As far as news goes, things are hopping with the latest Chipset release from VIA.  Let's take a look... A number of sites, including HotHardware, have news on the VIA K8T890 Pro.  Here's the rundown so far: VIA K8T890 - PCI Express For The Athlon 64 @ HotHardware.com HEXUS.net Feature: VIA's PCI Express plans... Good morning gang, JeffB here ringing in yet another weekend.  The HH labs are starting to really pile up with the hardware lately, guess it's a sign that the holiday season is right around the corner.  With so much new hardware this year, things should be real interesting.  I think there are going to be a bunch of happy little geekmeisters this year come December!  Until then, we are going to do our best to make sure you know what is hot or not this season.  Here's your news for this morning... HIS X800XT and X800 Pro IceQ II Video Cards @ hardcoreware.net: "Today we're reviewing HIS' entries into the X800 market: The X800 XT Platinum, and the X800 Pro. These cards... Read more...
Welcome back HotHardware fans!  Considering it has only been a few hours since my last post, things have been busy.  After checking the new mailbox, I was greeted with quite a few noteworthy items.  Here's what we've got so far...  Sapphire Toxic X800 PRO VIVO Review @ Beyond3D: "Beyond the cooling system, and the obvious PCB colour change, the rest of the board appears to adhere to the ATI reference design. Removing the heatsink from the board reveals Samsung 1.6ns GDDR3 RAM, which should be capable of a maximum operating speed of 600MHz, which well beyond the rates that even the "APE" overclocking runs it at."  Hitachi 57S700 HDTV @ DesignTechnica:... Happy Friday everyone.  We;re closing out another busy week at HH, although we'll still be plugging away on hardware all weekend long.  We've had a busy one this week so make sure you didn't miss anything!  It looks like we're not the only ones cranking out content for you.  My mail box was loaded with word of the latest reviews around the web.  So I got everything all lined up and ready to go.  Put a little extra in your cup this morning, there's a lot going on!  Here you go... HIS Excalibur X800 Pro IceQ II @ Viper Lair: "This card is fast, very fast. With only four high end cards to choose from (X800 Pro, XT, 6800GT, Ultra) this card should be on your... Read more...
HotHardware's Jeff Bouton steps up to the plate tonight with a showcase of the HIS X800 Pro VIVO Edition with IceQ II cooling.  A cooler and quieter ATi X800 Pro based card?  Come find out!... Read more...
Never before has there been such a level playing field when it comes to higher-end graphics cards.  This year, both ATI and NVIDIA have pulled out all the stops, offering the most powerful gaming solutions ever.  While we could split hairs with frame rate measurements, in the end, both companies have cards to play anything available today and probably for some time as well, with the ability to render in excellent image quality that is virtually indistinguishable from the other.  When it comes to marketing these newer cards, however, it takes some more creativity to make one stand out over the other.  Since performance and image quality have reached a relative degree of parity,... Good afternoon HotHardware fans! This is BW checkin' in to let you all know that we've just posted a review of the Asus AX800 XT. This card sports all of the features of a "built by ATi" X800 XT Platinum Edition, but unlike the ATi branded cards, the Asus AX800 XT has a uniquely colored PCB, lighted cooling fan, and it ships with a beefy accessory and software bundle. We've got some screenshots and a ton of benchmarks. Click here and check it out...... Read more...
Hardcore gamers, with the large disposable incomes necessary to feed their hardware addictions, have a lot to be thankful for at the moment.  Both NVIDIA, with the GeForce 6 Series of products, and ATi, with their X800 Pro and X800 XT, have extremely powerful GPUs in their arsenals that are an order of magnitude faster than the previous generation.  And while the previous battle at the high-end between the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra and Radeon 9800 XT was heated, it was never quite as competitive as things are today.  The 9800 XT was almost universally lauded as the "better" choice, but now the choice isn't quite as clear.  Compelling arguments can be made for choosing... Good morning everyone, how are you doing?  It has been a few days since I have touched the front page, let alone been home.  I can honestly say that the past week has been the busiest in my entire life.  The new position which I took at my day job required me to do a lot of media interaction this week, so I have been running all over the local area talking to newspapers and was featured on a fairly major TV show.  Thankfully our "hard-launch" has wrapped up and my schedule is back to normal.  I will surely miss that 13+ hour work days though............ ;)  Enermax Noisetaker EG475AX 475 Watt PSU @ SystemCooling "It is safe to say that the EG475AX is one of... Good afternoon folks!  I apologize for the later than usual start today.  I've been grinding away at a couple of reviews and totally lost track of time!  I'll make it up to you though - there's LOTs of good stuff to get posted.  And if I'm productive in the next couple of hours, we'll have some new content of our own for you as well...  The ATI Radeon To ATI FireGL Mod Guide Rev. 3.0 @ RojakPot: "Want a FireGL workstation card but can't afford to pay ATI's exhorbitant prices? Well, why don't you grab a Radeon desktop card and mod it into a FireGL card? Yes, you can easily mod a Radeon into the FireGL with just a simple BIOS flash! Our guide will go through all the... Good evening friends, welcome back :)  The day is drawing to an end and you know what that means.  Yup, it is time for the daily HH wrap-up of news from around the net.  So, go grab a mug and pull up a chair, here is your nightcap...  Soyo SY-KT880 Dragon 2 Motherboard Review @ PC Perspective "The major change from VIA's previous KT600 to the KT880 is the memory architecture. It now supports two dual channels for up to 8GB of memory compared to 4 GB on single channels on the KT600. However, a lot remains the same from the KT600,  most notably the lack of an AGP/PCI lock. A lot of people have been asking VIA to implement an AGP lock since but it appears they decided to... Read more...
