Over the course of the last few years, we've managed to make our way to a countless number of events all over the country. Without question, one of the highlights of each year would have to be QuakeCon. Whereas the foundation of most events is based around a vendor showcasing their latest products, the foundation of QuakeCon is entirely different. Here, the event is based around gamers and is intended as a way to give back to the gaming community. The security scare of the week, Zotob(the worm) hasn't had the effect that was predicted. While early reports claimed it was spreading fast, that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. Trend Micro estimates that the original version of the worm(Zoto.A) has infected about 50 computers world wide, while the first variant(Zotob.B) has only infected about 1,000 systems. They claim it has to do with the operating system, with the worm causing problems primarily with Windows 2000. Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are said to be in no danger. Good morning all. It's going to be an interesting couple of days in the south east with two storms rolling around. Bonnie blew through NC yesterday evening and managed to kick up a few tornadoes in my area. Next up is Charlie who is due to arrive on Saturday. I don't mind a good storm, but I draw the line with tornadoes. I hope that's the last of those for a long time.
