LG is no stranger to making Android smartphones, and has worked very closely with Google in the past on Nexus devices (Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 5X). That close collaboration with Google will extend to LG’s successor to the V10: the V20. According to an official press release on LG’s Korean-language website, the V20 will be the very first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat when it launches in September. If this statement is accurate (and it appears to be, as LG confirmed the news to Engadget), the V20 would even beat Google’s upcoming Marlin and Sailfish Nexus devices to the punch with regards to Nougat (Google’s Nexus devices are usually the first devices to ship with a new release of... Well folks, it’s official. Android N finally has a name, and it’s called Nougat. Last month, Google launched website allowing the general public to submit suggestions on potential Android N names, and it looks as though the delectable, chewy treat won out. To be honest, the Nougat name is a bit deflating and just don’t have the same ring to it as Marshmallow or Lollipop (and why do we need two chewy treats in a row?). The internet seems to be mostly “meh” about the name, with many having placed their hopes with Nutella.Introducing #AndroidNougat. Thank you, world, for all your sweet name ideas! #AndroidNReveal pic.twitter.com/7lIfDBwyBE— Android (@Android) June 30, 2016 With that being said,... Read more...
