Good morning all!  Man, last night was a tense evening around the HH labs.  With the Yankees "blowing it" and the Red Sox making history, emotions were high.  Needless to say, Yankees fans are pretty cranky and Davo, our lone Sox fan, (correction Jeff, Tom is one too!) is laughing all the way home.  It was fun to watch, even for a non-fan like myself, but after the Sox put up 8 runs, I knew it was time to call it a night.  Oh well, at least NY still has two football teams doing really good right now. Heck, the Jets are undefeated! Who would've guessed that one?!?!  (want to put some money on the Pats/Jets game this weekend? ;) ) Anyhow, here is your news... Read more...

The board's stability and performance was top notch across all the benchmarks, and it seemed to give a decent level of overclocking as well."... Read more...

Good morning everyone, how was your night?  Today is the first day off I have had in nearly two weeks, my "Saturday" of sorts.  However, there is some HH work that needs tending too, so I can not stay and chat at this moment.  Go grab a coffee and settle in for a little while, here is your AM shot of juice...  Thermaltake Tsunami Case Review @ VR-Zone Hardware "The back panel of the Tsunami is standard in design, with the only exception being the attached keys that come with the case. There are two sets of keys (with two keys per set). One set will unlock the front panel and the other will unlock the side panel. The side panel lock is a good idea especially... Read more...
Good morning folks!  As you've probably noticed, the bulk of the recent news has centered around the release of the Doom 3.  Lots of benchmarks, screenshots, console commands and cheats have started circulating.  And yes, we'll be doing a piece of our own shortly as well.  For now though, it's time for some news.  I'll call this one the "Doom 3 Free Edition" - 100% News, 0% Doom 3...everyone needs a break...  PowerPC on Apple: An Architectural History, Part I @ ARS: "The 601 could spend a ton of transistors (at least, a ton for its day) on a 32K cache because its front end was so much simpler than that of the Pentium. This was real advantage for using... Read more...
Good evening everyone, welcome back to HH.  The news front has slowed down for the day, thus it is time for our daily wrap-up.  Go grab a drink and settle in, here is the HH Nightcap.  AOpen COM5232 Combo Drive Review @ PC Stats "In this review, PCstats.com is testing the new AOpen COM5232 CD-RW/DVD combo drive. The AOpen COM5252 is capable of burning CD-R media at 52x speeds and CD-RW media at 32x. Reading CD-ROM material hums along at 52x, and the drive can also read DVD's at 16x. Combo drives are generally great for those who need the storage capacity of a CD burner and the ability to read DVD's at the same time. As a bonus, the Aopen com5232 also comes with removeable... Dig a little bit deeper in the box though and you realise that AOpen has actually included a lot more features than you initially think."  Evercool NP-101 Notebook Pad... Read more...
Good morning everyone, NJ here with another edition of the HH times.  With a few not so pleasant incidents over the weekend, the HH team was not in the best mindset.  So, in hopes of starting the work week off right, I have a XL dose of juice for all of us.  Here is your AM shot... Western Digital Raptor 74GB SATA 10,000RPM HDD @ SystemCooling "The main barrier that hard drives face is that as opposed to other computer hardware they are still mechanical. To increase hard drive performance the answer is simple, increase the RPM (revolutions per... Read more...

Athlon 64 FX-53 & Athlon 64 3800+ Socket 939 Processor Review @ Sharky Extreme "The introduction of the AMD64 line of processors was a rousing success on many levels, but there were a few niggling issues to address. The Athlon 64 FX-51 940-pin represented the new high-end of the processor scale, featured a powerful dual-channel memory controller, and supported both 32 and 64-bit software, but it could only use... Good morning friends, I am glad to see you are back :)  Sorry about the late start this morning, I had to make a quick run to the local computer store for some supplies.  Last night my GF decided she wanted to rearrange the bedroom, and of course the Ethernet cable that was hooked up her computer fell about 3 inches to short.  But, isn't that the way it always is.  Twenty five feet of cable is too short, and fifty feet is overkill.  Since I am too lazy to start crimping my own RJ45's, maybe it is time to step into the world of wireless networking!?!? ;) Opus Technologies MT-200 Mid-Tower Titanium Plated Case @ Extreme Overclocking "The Opus Technologies MT-200 Titanium... Good morning all.  It's that time again where we bring you some morning news from the PC hardware world.  The weekend is fast approaching, so let's get to it and then let the relaxing begin! Foxconn 755A01-6EKRS Athlon64 Motherboard (SiS 755) review @ hardCOREware.net: "If you have owned a computer in the past 23 years, I can virtually guarantee that you have used at least one Foxconn product at some point in time. It may have been an IDE cable, USB plug, or the socket you plug your memory into on a motherboard. For most of their history, Foxconn has stuck to producing parts sold directly to motherboard and other component manufacturers." AMDZone took some time to play with... Read more...
