2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Is A Relative Bargain 797 HP Beast Machine
Muscle car fans were giddy last week when Dodge announced the 2019 Challenger lineup as there are several high-performance models in the mix. The loss of the Demon for the 2019 model year will make some fans sad, but the new SRT Hellcat Redeye almost makes up for it. Dodge gave us specs on that Redeye and the other Challenger models save pricing and when they would be available. Dodge has now offered base pricing on the entire 2019 Challenger line.
The Challenger R/T will start at $34,100 for 2019. The more muscular Challenger R/T Scat Pack will start at $38,995 plus a $1,000 gas guzzler tax on the manual transmission model. The brutish Challenger SRT Hellcat will start at $58,650 plus a $1,700 gas guzzler tax on all models; that is a $5,000 price cut from last year. That slightly demonic SRT Hellcat Redeye will start at $69,650 with a $1,700 gas guzzler tax.
Dodge is still not giving up the goods on the option packages. The Scat Pack will have a widebody package available that isn’t priced. If you missed the details on the Redeye, the car has Dodge's most powerful V8 engine for this model year with a 6.2L supercharged Hemi making 797hp and 707 lb-ft of torque. The car can hit 60mph in 3.4 seconds and promises a quarter mile run of 10.8 seconds. Being able to run the quarter that quickly with a factory warranty is insane.
